WWE Champion AJ Styles was injured last week in a show at Madison Square Garden, noticeably limping after Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacked him with a steel chair.

Styles was to compete in a tag team match with Shinsuke Nakamura against Owens and Zayn, but he had to be taken out by the medical team. It was later reported that this was part of an injury angle, but Styles did come out after and save Nakamura from being attacked by the two superstars.

In reality, Styles is indeed dealing with an injury, and WWE is playing it safe by resting him so he doesn't aggravate it. Styles was questioned by Catch-Newz if he'd have to miss WrestleMania, but the WWE Champion provided an encouraging update for the fans.

“I will go to WrestleMania even if I have one less leg,” the Phenomenal One said.

And with that, the WWE Universe can probably relax. His hyped-up championship match against Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34 will most definitely happen, barring any major setbacks in his injury.

PWInsider noted on Monday that Styles was backstage for Raw, getting checked out by medical doctors. Other than that, it's unknown what plans could be in store for him on SmackDown Live tonight.

Styles has been the WWE Champion since defeating Jinder Mahal on the Nov. 7 episode of SmackDown Live. His match against Nakamura - the former face of the NXT brand - has increasingly high expectations, and rightfully so.

Nakamura and Styles are two of the world's premium in-ring performers, so it's imperative that they're both at full health. We don't know all the details of Styles' injury, but it doesn't seem like it'll hold him back from competing in New Orleans.

So with that, the WWE Universe shouldn't have to worry about anything. Styles has kept himself in terrific shape, and should recover in time for his major WWE Championship defense.
