Becky Lynch knows how to use social media to further her career and it looks like she might be teaming with another social media genius. She's been going back and forth with fellow Irish personality Conor McGregor and the two have caught the attention of the wrestling world.
Lynch has certainly improved her social media game by calling out a few fellow wrestlers and getting into squabbles with celebrities. McGregor is known for using social media to become one of the most popular MMA fighters and celebrity athletes in the world. Lynch wrote on Twitter, "The Man channels no one.
@TheNotoriousMMA & are bonded as Irish brother & sister. But if I ever got within 2 miles of him I’d break that bond, and his arm, in three short seconds. I’d be too tempting; he’d completely understand too. Proper 12 after."
McGregor caught wind of the tweet and responded, "Call me when you need a proper backup."

The fact that McGregor responded has wrestling fans excited. There have been rumors for close to two years that WWE would like to work with McGregor and that McGregor was interested in a short-term stint with WWE. So far, that's yet to happen. That McGregor is responding to Lynch's tweets means that he's, perhaps, not completely out of the picture. More interesting is that Lynch is happy to respond and keep the conversation going.
Cheers, Conor. I’m carrying two divisions at the moment, but you know exactly how that is. I hear New York is nice in the spring, though. 🇮🇪 https://t.co/51VSVCCG28— The Man (@BeckyLynchWWE) November 22, 2018
Saying she's carrying two divisions at the moment, she knows McGregor understands how that feels.
What This Means
This back and forth on Twitter could be nothing more than two athletes who also understand they are in the entertainment business stirring up a conversation. But, if it's leading to something, Lynch and McGregor make a natural pair since both are Irish and representing their heritage.
So too, if something is brewing, perhaps things can get organized just in time for WrestleMania 35.
