Since first debuting in the early 20th century, superheroes have captured the imagination of the masses and never let go. They have helped transform comic collecting, from a popular hobby for children, into a $1.5 billion industry that involves many adults.

In a way, superheroes are like sports teams, in that everyone has their favorites. Many young boys may have grown up reading about Batman, Superman, or even Spider-Man. Conversely, females often admired popular do-gooders like Wonder Woman and Ms. Marvel. In fact, comic book characters have become so entrenched in popular culture, that one can hardly go to the movie theatre without seeing at least one comic-based film plastered on the marquee. Perhaps this is why cosplay (or costume play) has become all the rage in recent years.

Cosplay involves a person, or group of people, dressing up as a (usually fictional) character. Star Wars personalities, video game icons, and of course, Superheroes are some of the participants’ favorite subjects. It has become so popular that there are several cosplay conventions held in various parts of the world.

Its recent spike in popularity has even caused some the world’s hottest female athletes to hop aboard the cosplay bandwagon. With that in mind, here are 15 of hottest women in professional sports today, dressed as your favorite superheroes.

That being said, do in no small part to her movie star good looks, Bouchard has remained one of the most talked about players on the tour. The 5-foot-10 blonde has even posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Let’s be honest, as cosplay goes, this rendition of Catwoman is pretty weak, but Bouchard is so hot that it’s still worth featuring.

She started out as a valet for Hennigan, who was her real-life boyfriend at the time, before going on to have a successful career as a singles competitor. Perez held the WWE Women’s Championship and Divas title and combined five times.

This skin-tight Spider-Woman costume would certainly highlight any physical flaws. Fortunately for Melina, she didn’t appear to have any at the time this photo was taken. It’s fair to say that Perez made for a pretty darn good looking Spider Woman.
