Mike Babcock is going to be the next head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs at a high price. Babcock's deal with Toronto is eight years at $50 million. Detroit's final offer to retain Babcock was worth $20 million over five years. So now, the question is, did Babcock sell out to the evil empire of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment? Or did he simply buy in, like Seth Rollins did when he disbanded the Shield and joined the Authority?
Either way, Babcock has completely shattered the market for NHL coaches, and the question now lies if he will be able to end a 48-year Stanley Cup drought in Toronto.
