15 Ridiculously Expensive Things That Tom Brady Blows His Money On

Tom Brady is one of the highest paid players in the NFL. In the 2000 NFL draft, the New England Patriots selected Brady with the 199th pick overall in the sixth round. Brady was not highly regarded coming out of the University of Michigan. Several NFL scouts went on record and said Brady's NFL combine performance was one of the worst they have seen. Tom Brady did not run fast, couldn't jump high and did not have the arm talent that will make your eyes light up. Still, Tom Brady developed under Bill Belichick to be one of the best QB's in NFL history. Brady has the most Superbowl wins and appearances ever.

Over Brady's 18-year career, he has earned $197.2 million which ranks 3rd all-time behind Peyton and Eli Manning. Throughout his career, Brady has been notorious for giving the Patriots discount on his contract in order to stay competitive and allow New England to sign key free agents. For most couples, Brady would easily be the bread winner in the relationship. Gisele Bundchen, Brady's wife is one of the most successful supermodels in history with whopping net worth of $360 million. Tom Brady is not known as an athlete that splurges his money on materialistic things the way a Floyd Mayweather has done in his career. Although Brady is cheap in some regards, he does have his own vices that he likes to spend on and that should come as no surprise. With that said we'll look at 15 ridiculously expensive things that Tom Brady blows his money on.

15 Los Angeles Mansion

via youtube.com

In 2008, Tom Brady and his wife Gisele bought land in Brentwood, California for $11 million prior to the construction of a brand-new home. By 2011, the couple moved into the finished home that cost $20 million to build. The 22,000-square-foot mansion is equipped with two wings, eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a six-car garage, elevator, wine cellar, weight room, waterfall, pond and a lagoon pool with a spa. Bundchen was asked about the home in an interview and said, "I want to live in a place that feels like a real home, where you can put your feet up on the couch and just relax."

Brady was also asked about the home and added, “Gisele and I have eight sisters between us, and there are lots of kids.

We built this house as a sanctuary for our family—a place where we can enjoy being together.” In 2014, Brady sold the home to hip-hop mogul and producer Dr. Dre for $40 million. I find it odd that the couple built the home of their dream that included a nursery for their son and sold the home just three years later. When you are the status of a Tom Brady, his financial decisions are too lavish for us regular folks to even fathom.

14 2011 Land Rover Range Rover

via celebritycarsblog.com

Throughout the years, Tom Brady and his wife have been spotted around shopping and running errands in a 2011 Land Rover Range Rover. The price of this vehicle would range anywhere from $86-94k brand-new. A celebrity of the stature of Tom Brady needs a vehicle large enough for the family animals included and the Range Rover is a common vehicle. The dark tinted windows allow for Brady to maintain his privacy while doing his day to day duties like regular people. I am not sure if this is the supercharged version but knowing Brady and his love affection with vehicles it can be safe to assume so.

Sure, Tom Brady has other vehicles that have a higher price tag but driving a car worth north of six figures is sure to catch a lot of attention. The Range Rover comes with push to start, 14-speaker sound system, navigation, Bluetooth and a reverse camera. The Range Rover ranks sixth in U.S. New's large luxury SUV rankings. Sure, the car is not great on gas only getting around 20 miles per gallon but I'm pretty sure that is not something Brady would worry about too much. If Tom Brady had the sudden need to drive off-road, this would be a great option to choose from.

13 Rolls Royce Ghost

via tiebreaker.com

We have discussed Tom Brady's Audi and Range Rover. Those are the dream cars of most common folks, but there is nothing common about Tom Brady. I am actually getting excited as I write with just the opportunity to express how great this next car is. We are talking about a custom black on black Rolls Royce Ghost. The Rolls Royce is the luxury of luxury cars and by name alone the Ghost is everything you could imagine. The Ghost would probably rank just behind the Phantom in terms of high end luxury Rolls Royces but I wouldn't think twice at the chance to own one.

This car has a MSRP price of over $300k and comes with the reverse doors and a monster V12 engine.

I haven't even got to the features yet. It's hard to tell which exact year Brady's Rolls Royce but I can assume around a 2011 judging by when he was photographed. The 2011 Ghost comes with a 600-watt sound system with navigation, dual-monitor rear entertainment system, panoramic sunroof and parking cameras with rear, front side and top views. When you travel as much as a Tom Brady does during the season, he won't have much time to drive this car but I would sure neglect the others with this in the garage.

12 Brookline Massachusetts Mansion

Image via Forbes.com

After selling their Los Angeles mansion in 2014 to producer Dr. Dre, Brady and his wife began construction a new mega mansion just outside of the Boston, Massachusetts area. Their current home is slightly under 40 minutes away from where Brady plays at Gillette stadium in Foxsborough. The Brookline palace is slightly smaller than the home in California. The 14,000-square foot mansion comes with five bedrooms, his and hers walk-in closets, a staff quarters, wine storage, library, sun room, and gym.

Last season, there was a lot of drama surrounding the New England Patriots as the team traded quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers for only a second round pick. At the time of the trade, many were confused as to why the Patriots would get rid of their future quarterback with Tom Brady in his 40s. A report out of New England that was later denied by the organization reported that owner Robert Kraft forced Bill Belichick to trade Garoppolo at the request of Tom Brady. You may wonder the relevance of this story to this house? Coincidentally, it is located directly next door to the Patriots owner Robert Kraft. Brady has been with the Patriots for 18 years but that still comes off a bit odd.

11 2010 Audi S8

via youtube.com

If there is anything that Tom Brady loves, it has to be his cars. This particular car that Brady purchased was a 2010 Audi S8 that had a retail price of $97,000 around when the car was originally manufactured. The Audi S8 is a full-size German luxury sports car that features a top speed of 155 MPH. Unfortunately for Brady, he was involved in an accident with a minivan in September 2010 and joked about the incident by saying that he crashed the car to get the 2011 version. This is Tom Brady that we are speaking of here. Only Tom Brady gets this type of treatment after crashing a car. Audi indeed gifted Brady with the 2011 Audi S8 and the publicity that Audi received from the incident surely had to increase their sales.

The 2010 Audi S8 was discontinued and replaced with the Audi A8 in 2011 and the car came with many brand-new features. The car cones equipped with a 4.2L V8 engine, an updated Multimedia Interface that includes touch pad capabilities for navigational entries. Today, some features may not seem eye popping due to the technological advances of today but 8 years ago, this car was basically a space ship dropped into Brady's driveway from the future.

10 The TB12 Method

via twitter.com

We have been discussing a lot about the homes Tom Brady lives in and the cars that he chooses to drive, now we can look at how he eats. Tom Brady is playing at a high level in the gruelling NFL at the tender age of 40. This season, Brady will be playing at 41 and has not shown any signs of slowing up just yet. In order to play at such a high level for such a long time Brady takes extra care of his body. There is a diet method that Brady follows which he has titled The TB12 Method.

In this diet plan, Brady starts his day at around 6 a.m. and drinks 20 ounces of water with added electrolytes.

Brady drinks 12 to 25 glasses of water every day and adds his TB12 electrolyte concentrate to all his beverages. After a morning shower, Brady drinks a smoothie and says, “Its nutrient dense, high in fat, high in protein, and high in calories.” Brady eats lunch around noon and, “often a piece of fish, but always with lots of vegetables.” His dinner is normally around 6 p.m. and he says, "Dinner is another nutrient-dense meal that includes a lot of vegetables." Doesn't sound too crazy right? If you add up everything he eats during the day with the necessary supplements the diet costs a whopping $16,000 per year. This doesn't even include the days when you would want to go out on the town for a nice meal.

9 Offensive Linemen Audi Q7 SUVs

via twitter.com

When you dissect the New England Patriot's dynasty much of the credit goes to Head Coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. That credit is deserved in a lot of rights as Belichick has been a genius the way he has operated the organization with the ability to plug in and replace players that played at a high level with lesser known players with relative ease. Tom Brady has been under center for all of their victories in the Superbowl and the year when he was injured the team had a slight drop off with not much success in the playoffs.

Who usually goes unnoticed when NFL teams have a lot of success are the offensive linemen. Tom Brady has been healthy for all but one of his 18 NFL seasons, and he does not let the guys up front feel unappreciated. In order to show his gratitude Tom Brady gifted his entire offensive line with an Audi Q7 SUV. The cost for those vehicles in 2008 was roughly $42K each. How great would it be to receive a $42K gift from a co-worker? The amount of money Brady has made from playing on the field every Sunday is worth way more than he spent buying these cars.

8 New York City Tribeca Condo

Image via BusinessInsider.com

Tom Brady and his wife Gisele have had luxurious homes on each coast of the United States. To go along with their large and lavish mansions, they have a condo in New York City's Tribeca neighbourhood. The 5,000-square-foot apartment was purchased by Brady for $20 million in 2016. You may know the Tribeca area as home of the Tribeca Film Festival that was put together to showcase independent films such as documentaries, shorts, family-friendly films and narrative features. The festival was created to liven up the lower Manhattan area after the events of 9/11.

Condos in the Tribeca area are home to various celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lawrence and Jake Gyllenhaal. Tom Brady doesn't spend much time in New York during the season unless he's on the road playing the New York Jets who he owns without even spending any money on the franchise. That's a story for another day. The Condo is reported to be very spacious and have 5 bedrooms overlooking the Hudson River. The 14-story apartment complex has an 82-foot pool, steam room, sauna, and yoga studio in case Brady did decide to do some training while he was there. Brady takes a lot of time when deciding on places to call home and this beautiful area was a great choice.

This qualifies as one of the big boy toys as far as cars are concerned. Tom Brady is a big fan of Aston Martin vehicles and the DB11 is a beautiful piece of machinery. This is the kind of car that you see in action films featured in the intro as the star actor heads to his lunch date with a beautiful supermodel Oceanside before guns starts blazing and the restaurant turns into a war field. If Brady was not a super bowl winning quarterback, he could easily land a part in an upcoming James Bond movie.

The 2017 DB11 is out of the price range for most people reading this article and even a lot of NFL players with an asking price of $211K for the base model. The Launch edition which comes with more features will only cost $230K if anyone was interested. This car comes in hardtop or drop top and has a top speed of 200 MPH with 600 horsepower and a V12 engine. Equipped with front and rear parking sensors, the DB11 also comes with an 8-inch infotainment system to power a 1000-watt audio system and gesture-controlled touch pad for operation. I know I previously said the Rolls Royce Ghost may have been my favourite but it might have a little competition here.

6 Entire Team Ugg Boots

via twitter.com

Tom Brady is a big bad football player that plays one of the most dangerous sports in the world. Tom Brady was pictured wearing Ugg boots and the internet had a field day. Tom Brady being the great marketer he is leveraged that attention to becoming the face of Ugg. When asked about the partnership he said, "I started wearing Ugg when I was like 13 or 14, in high school, and my mom got me a pair for Christmas one year. I've loved them ever since, so I was like, 'Yeah, this is perfect!'"

In 2015, Brady gifted the entire New England Patriots with a pair of the shoes.

If you were not aware, an NFL roster has 53 players. The popular Ugg boot has a retail price of $130 and with 53 players that's a total of $6,890 for his football family. In an interview with WEEI Brady said, "My teammates are the biggest beneficiaries (of my modelling contract). Every year they’re getting four or five pairs (the boots and the Ascot slippers). We’ll go out to practice on the grass, and they’re all wearing their Ascots out on the field and I’m like 'Guys! These are, like, for your house!'" If Brady does gift his teammates with five pairs a year, that's close to $35K for shoes. That's insane.

5 2015 FERRARI M458-T

via yahoo.com

The Aston Martin is a great sports coupe to own, don't get me wrong but the Ferrari is a Ferrari. The Ferrari M458-T is a revised model of 458 Italia. Ferrari is an Italian sports car brand based out of Maranello, Italy. In 2014, Brand Finance labeled the Ferarri the most powerful brand in the world. Even if you are unsure of the specs that are in a certain Ferrari the brand and logo alone speaks for itself.

When shopping for sports cars, Brady likes them fast as would anyone. The Ferrari M458-T does just that with the 670 horsepower twin turbo V8 engine. This is the car that you only see in dreams and if you are someone like Tom Brady that doesn't normally splurge on things such as an extreme shoe collection or lavish parties you can afford to have a car like this just to say 'I have a Ferrari.' Maybe Tom Brady bought this car to have fun on the open roads in California, or just wants to let his hair flow while he is on his way to Gillette Stadium in Foxsborough to try to win the Superbowl. If you see a Ferrari M458-T in traffic somewhere, wave at the driver because maybe it's Tom Brady.

Tom Brady has a love for Aston Martin as you can tell, and he has spent lots of his NFL money on their products. The love affair even resulted in Brady giving a once in a lifetime opportunity to design his own special limited edition Vanquish. Brady was asked about the car and said, “It was an easy decision to go with the Vanquish S for the special edition - it is an incredible car to drive and is truly a work of art. Going through the process of curating a unique Aston Martin has been fascinating. We started with a blank canvas and finished with this beautiful car. It’s been great to see it all come to fruition and I’m proud to share a name with it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!”

The TB12 edition was limited to 12 models and would cost you only $360K for the V12 engine that has a top speed of 200 MPH, and goes from 0-62 in 3.5 seconds.

All of this makes this special edition vehicle more than just a car but a work of art. Seeing as how Brady has a unique partnership with Aston Martin to customize the vehicle the odds are that Brady wouldn't have to pay directly to own a car since his endorsement deal probably covers the asking price anyway.

3 One Madison Condo In Manhattan

Image via NY.curbed.com

Back in 2013, Tom Brady and his wife Gisele purchased a condo at One Madison Park in the Flatiron District of New York City for $11.7 million. The four bedroom space is overlooking the Empire State Building and Manhattan skyline. Architect Peter Marino designed the place that comes with 3,300 square feet of space, floor-to-ceiling windows, and elevator.

New York City is a place known for their large population so architects have been forced to build places closer together and higher in the sky. The Manhattan area is prime real estate in New York City and is the most populated of all the five boroughs. The condo is perfect for Gisele to handle all of her business dealings in what people describe as the cultural, financial, media, and entertainment capital of the world. Tom Brady and Gisele only lived in the condo for three years before the place was listed back on the market. You can find the Bradys on the 47th floor of the prime Manhattan building just three floors down from the penthouse that you can buy for $50 million. The open floor plan gives the condo a home feel by making the best use of the limited space. For a family that travels so much, I expect the house remains empty for most of the time which seems like a waste for such a great place.

We have discussed cars that drive fast as we previously listed the Aston Martin and the Ferrari. As crazy as it may sound, this car here is in a league even superior to sports cars with a $300k price tag. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport broke the Guinness Book of World Records in 2013. The car broke the speed record timing in at 267.8 MPH but the car sold to the public only timed at 258 MPH thus being stripped of the record. You can buy this Bugatti for $3 million if you happen to have a few extra million lying around and want to feel how it feels to drive one of the top fastest cars in the world.

Tom Brady has a lot of cars and this one is the cherry on top. When you drive a car that goes over 250 MPH, the chances are that you won't get to go that fast often. As an athlete that has limitations in his contract and so many people depending on his well-being, it wouldn't be in Brady's best interest to push the pedal to the metal too often. Although it is dangerous, I am sure Tom has topped 200 MPH at least once just to test his million dollar car's limit a little.

1 Gulfstream G550 Private Jet

via gulfstream.com

We have listed some of the best cars in the world, some that only a select few have ever had the privilege to drive. The Bugatti may very well be one of the most expensive cars in the world but it can only go so fast and there are speed limits on the road. What do you do when you have to travel very far and have a shirt time to do it? The answer would probably be to look up flights and try to book an airline ticket somewhere. When you're as wealthy as Tom Brady and his wife Gisele, you don't want to fly with ordinary people and would rather not wait for flight times. This is when you just go ahead and purchase your own private jet.

The Gulfstream G550 is a business jet that travels internationally that can travel 12 hours without refueling with up to 19 passengers. You may be wondering how many miles per hour this jet that is powered by two Rolls Royce engines can travel. The .80 Mach translates to 613 miles per hour which in more than twice the speed of the fastest car in the world. With homes on the East and West coast it makes sense to have a way to travel from each property whenever you choose. That was fun, and the biggest takeaway today is the life of one of the best athletes of all-time must be pretty cool but I think we knew that already.
