During Bret Hart's acceptance speech as part of the 2019 class of the WWE Hall of Fame, a fan rushed the stage and interrupted the show.

In the midst of a very touching speech by Bret Hart, a fan (although it would be hard to classify him as such) rushed the ring before being dragged out by other wrestlers and security. The broadcast which was airing live on WWE Network caught a portion of the man entering the ring, only to cut away and go dark. Social media was quick to post whatever images and videos they could get of the attack.

The fan was able to get into the ring, pull Bret down and send everyone in attendance into shock. There were a handful of people around the ring who knew what was happening just seconds after it occurred and superstars like Edge, Tyson Kid, Renee Young, Ronda Rousey and her husband Travis Brown, Heath Slater and a number of others were in the ring when the cameras came back on. Drake Maverick then grabbed the podium mic and urged everyone not to pay attention to that guy and keep the showing going.

There was a handful of video accounts from the scene including one where Dash Wilder of The Revival can be seen taking a good shot at the fan while he was being dragged off.

What This Means

Clearly, WWE will beef up security for the rest of the Hall of Fame ceremonies as well as for WrestleMania on Sunday.

Congrats go out to Bret Hart and Natalya, not just for getting into the Hall of Fame on behalf of the Hart Foundation, but to keep going with the speech despite the obvious and unexpected break in the emotional moment.
