There’s just something about female tennis players – those of you into the sport will know what I’m on about. Some of them just look so graceful, as if they’re effortlessly gliding about the court. Somehow, they also manage to look super good while in the heat of battle. Tennis is a grueling sport, but some of the women on tour just look enviously good. There’s that – how they look in their tennis outfits in action – but then there’s of course the fact that a lot of the WTA consists of seriously sultry athletes. Every so often a new wave of players come through the ranks, just adding to the ever-growing number of tennis hotties at all the major tournaments.
There are a lot of beautiful players – it truly is ridiculous how many. But not quite at the other end of the scale, there are those who don’t quite measure up in the looks department. They’re not bad looking or anything like that, not by any stretch of the imagination. But they pale in comparison when side by side these eight tennis beauties. In comparison, you’d have to say, as harsh as it may sound, that they’re faults. These are eight female tennis players who are aces and seven, who in comparison, are total faults.
15 ACE: MARIA SHARAPOVA
The young crop is coming through the ranks and have been trying to steal Maria’s crown as Queen of the tennis court, the WTA’s resident hottie. But Maria’s not going to go down without a fight. She’s part of the old guard, due to the amount of years she’s been a professional, but is still as gorgeous as ever. She hasn’t helped herself in certain aspects when it comes to the popularity stakes, is prone to controversy, and there are never-ending calls to duct tape her mouth shut on court to silence those ear-splitting grunts. But turn down the volume, and just watch what this woman’s able to accomplish on the court, soak in some of her steamy modeling pics, and she’ll be a tennis ace in your eyes.
14 FAULT: SIMONA HALEP
There are so many beauties on the WTA tour, that those are the players that seem to get all of the attention. It’s fair to assume that people don’t really know about who the best players are, just who the hottest players are. If I asked you who the top female tennis player in the world was recently, for quite some time, not many would come up with the right answer. Simona Halep is the woman who topped the rankings, and is currently world number two. The Romanian player is an ace in terms of her tennis ability, but not really much else. She can’t compete with many around her in the looks department, and hasn’t really done the greatest job at marketing herself. Therefore, she may not be getting tons of cash through sponsors, but she lets her tennis do the talking.
13 ACE: GARBINE MUGURUZA
In a lot of people’s eyes, Garbine is the best looking woman in tennis at the moment. She’s right up there in the rankings, making her a true ace in the tennis world. In recent years she’s enjoyed a golden period, winning Grand Slam tournaments, and consequently her popularity’s skyrocketed. But it’s not just the fact she wins the big events that make her an ace. It’s that she looks mightily good doing it, and continues to showcase her beauty and physique off the court too. She loves putting herself out there on social media, and regularly posts steamy pics of herself living life to the fullest. Currently ranked number 3, the Venezuelan beauty who incidentally is only 24, can expect to dominate the tennis world in the coming years.
12 FAULT: VICTORIA AZARENKA
This one might seem like a bit of an odd one to include on this list. When she makes an effort, Victoria Azarenka can really put herself up there as being among the most stunning in the game. But that’s not a regular occurrence. There are a few steamy pics of Victoria out there, but for the majority of the time, Victoria is preoccupied with her tennis and just her tennis, not necessarily looking glamorous. Tennis fans will know by now that Victoria really just doesn’t care what people think of her. She’s got unusual mannerisms on the court, and that shriek, boy that ear-splitting shriek – get the duct tape out again! For a long time, Victoria was actually the laughing stock of tennis. There are reasons for that, but Victoria hasn’t really done anything about it.
11 ACE: DOMINIKA CIBULKOVA
There are quite a few players in the women’s draw who are aces because they possess the looks, have the physique, and have great tennis ability too. You can’t really say that about Dominika Cibulkova, because the latter just doesn’t hold true. It’s fair to assume that unless you’re a big fan of the women’s game, you probably haven’t heard of her. That’s because she doesn’t exactly go far in Grand Slam events. But the reason why she’s an ace is because of her looks alone. Off the court, Dominika is a fashionista, a model, and is undoubtedly one of the steamiest players in the game. She transforms into a sultry superstar of epic proportions. Seriously, have a scroll through her Instagram page, and she’ll be your new favorite player.
10 FAULT: VENUS WILLIAMS
For a while, the Williams sisters dominated the world of tennis. You could pretty much guarantee that both would always feature at the latter stages of Grand Slam tournaments. Then Serena dominated by herself, just became a tennis phenomenon, arguably the greatest sportswomen who’s ever lived. Big sister Venus is getting on a bit now, and although she’s enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, she’s still very hit and miss. In terms of her sultriness, Venus hasn’t really been highly rated looks’ wise, unless she’s posing in steamy shoots with her young sis, Serena. She’s not exactly graceful on the court either, just goes about the game in her own way, and although it’s led to some success, she can’t really be called an ace.
9 ACE: CAROLINE WOZNIACKI
It’s pretty interesting how one steamy photoshoot can really, in essence, transform your career, and make people see you in a totally different light. That’s what happened to Danish beauty, Caroline Wozniacki, Of course, it was always evident that Caroline was hot simply by watching her play. But when she did that famous Sports Illustrated shoot, and posed naked for ESPN, her level of popularity took off into the stratosphere. They were ridiculously hot shoots, and from then on, people haven’t been able to look at Caroline in the same way. Not only is she stunning, she’s also the world’s best tennis player, having recently won a Grand Slam and taken over from Simona Halep. Seeing Wozniacki on this list shouldn’t be a surprise – she’s a true tennis ace in every sense of the word.
8 FAULT: COCO VANDERWEGHE
CoCo Vandeweghe is an American tennis player. She had a stellar junior’s career but hasn’t quite tasted the level of success she would have hoped when she joined the big time. She’s currently ranked 18th in the world, and has enjoyed a steady ranking, being there or there abouts, for the majority of her career. But aside from her name, her killer serve, and aggressive style of play, there isn’t anything that really stands out about CoCo. She’s not the leanest, sveltest player on tour, isn’t exactly graceful, and doesn’t have the looks that will make people sit up and take notice. What she does have is a real temper, and it’s gotten her into some hot water over the years. She’s young-ish at 26, so could still blossom though.
7 ACE: EUGENIE BOUCHARD
Forget about the hottest women in tennis, Eugenie Bouchard has been rated as being among the hottest sportswomen in the world. Those of you who have set eyes on her steamy pics - it’s fair to assume that’s a fair lot of you – would be hard-pressed to disagree. But Genie doesn’t just stand out when she gets dolled up and puts her glad rags on for the camera. She stands out because she’s naturally beautiful, has a smile that melt’s hearts, makes people go all warm and fuzzy inside, and a physique that’s just drop-dead gorgeous in every which way. Genie really does possess the entire package. It’s just a pity her tennis isn’t up to scratch, then she really would be the complete tennis player.
6 FAULT: MADISON KEYS
Madison Keys should be a name that people recognize. She’s already won a few WTA titles, has partaken in some epic matches, and has enjoyed a steady ranking in the top 20 for most of her career. Recently, Madison has also been famed for being the only other American to contest a Grand Slam final other than the Williams’ sisters. That’s an amazing achievement. But having said all of that, when it comes to her looks, Madison is a tennis fault, just does measure up. It’s a shame, because if she had the looks, combined with her achievements, she’d be raking in the cash through sponsorship deals and whatnot. Oh well, Madison will just have to earn her cash another way, by letting her racket do the talking.
5 ACE: ANGELIQUE KERBER
Angelique Kerber is undoubtedly the biggest underrated hottie of the WTA tour. The former world number one, Angelique Kerber has always been there or there abouts at the top of the rankings. That means we get to see a lot of her at all of the major tournaments, but for some reason, she’s not someone who’s really spoken about in the same light as some of the other hotties on tour. Nevertheless, including Angelique as an ace on this list was a sure thing. Perhaps a reason as to why people don’t gush about her as they do to others, is because in comparison, she’s pretty social media shy. Once she ups her social media game, she’ll be a true tennis ace in everyone’s eyes.
4 FAULT: SLOANE STEPHENS
In the eight years since turning pro, American tennis player Sloane Stephens has enjoyed a pretty good time of it. Things got better for Sloane last year when she won the U.S. Open, and since then, she’s been going about trying to win other titles, with varying success. Sloane is an incredibly inconsistent player, which can be infuriating if you’re a fan of this hotshot from America. But she’s got a personality, is only 24, and so for her sake, hopefully she can build upon the success she enjoyed last year. It’ll be hard for her to build on her looks, because in comparison to others around her in the rankings, there isn’t much to write home about. Killing it on court is her only option when it comes to trying to climb higher in the popularity stakes.
3 ACE: PETRA KVITOVA
When Petra first came onto the scene, you’d probably say that I needed my head checking by putting her as a tennis ace on this list. But over the years, the tennis world has begun to see Petra in a different light. She’s the darling of tennis – everyone has a soft spot for Petra. Initially she was deemed to be too bulky – essentially overweight. But over the years, she’s gotten svelter, has appeared in some steamy photoshoots, and her personality’s begun to shine through. The shy big leftie got herself out there, started to embrace all the attention she was getting, lap it up. She’s still shy, but that’s rather endearing, makes her super-cute. This shyness comes through in her photos, as does that wide smile plastered across that beautiful face – she’s a tennis ace alright.
2 FAULT: MARION BARTOLI
Marion Bartoli is unorthodox to say the least. I doubt there’s been any other tennis player like her. That goes for her style of play, various mannerisms which she brings onto the court, and her size. While her physique isn't one we normally see on a tennis court, her size didn’t stop her winning the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. When she did though, hers wasn’t a face that was plastered all over the place. Not that she would have cared. She subsequently retired and had a mystery illness which caused her to lose a ton of weight. Overcoming that illness gave her the desire to come back, and we’re assuming those mannerisms will come back too. We wish her the best in her return.
1 ACE: ANA IVANOVIC
Ana Ivanovic was the resident beauty of the WTA tour. Despite her inconsistencies, people still tuned in to watch her in action, because she was just angelic on the court. Her inconsistencies ultimately led to her retirement, but we still get to see plenty of Ana as she’s an avid Instagram poster. She just loves connecting with her fans by posting on social media, and we love her for it. Ana always looks stunning in her pics. Whether it’s a candid snap or she decides to pose, Ana’s beauty always shines through. She also shares some of the seriously steamy shoots she’s done in the past for her sponsors, making us reminisce with fondness and think about how unfortunate it is that she no longer graces the court.
