Give Us The News: 20 Hottest Sports Broadcasters Of All Time

More than ever before, every sport and every network has a female broadcaster covering the action. It's no longer an industry dominated by males and that's a good thing. The idea that former players are the only personalities with opinions that matter to fans is ludicrous and the networks have started to figure it out. Giving viewers a variety is the way to go.

Whether it's football, golf, baseball, wrestling, hockey, MMA or basketball, it seems like every professional league understands that an audience comprised of mostly males doesn't mind watching coverage from former athletes. But, an audience of mostly males also doesn't mind watching a good looking female every now and again as well. This is especially true if said female knows her stuff when it comes to sports. Basically, it's every man's dream — a woman who loves sports and is fine as the day is long.

But knowing your stuff isn't enough anymore. It's not that female broadcasters is a new development. It's more that those former female broadcasters who were knowledgeable, but also aging, have been replaced by younger models who understand exactly what it means to be front a center on the television for each game. The networks realize the demographic they're targeting and they've started to hire females personalities willing to play up their looks and sports acumen to the best of their ability.

The formula works. We've scoured the globe (well, really just the internet) and found what we believe are the 20 hottest women involved in broadcasting over a variety of sports. The list below is in no particular order. It was way too hard to pick our favorite.

20 Marisol Gonzalez

via gq.com

After winning the title of Nuestra Belleza México 2002, González competed in Miss Universe 2003 and is an extremely popular model to this day. She's a social media darling who has over 800k followers on Instagram and over 1.7 million followers on Twitter and clearly, she's an absolute knockout.

She is a sports reporter for Televisa Deportes in Mexico and has covered a variety of sports for the network including the Super Bowl on Mexican television several times. In 2012, she made headlines for a red dress that she wore to the Super Bowl media day and it became the talk of the weekend. When she's not stealing eyeballs, fans have become interested in her love life. They seemed to be very interested in her relationship with Mexican boxer Saul Álvarez.

19 Renee Young

Renee Young has taken the WWE by storm. Brought in as a hire from the Canadian sports network The Score, Young has become the number one option for the WWE when it comes to commentary behind the scenes. She's the host of every WWE pay per view pre-show, Talking Smack and has her own WWE Network show titled Unfiltered.

While she's still extremely attractive, she broke a bunch of hearts this past year when she married WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose in a quiet ceremony. She's also turned down a couple offers from bigger networks to stay with the WWE and has been added to the Total Divas cast. You can't watch much on the WWE without seeing her somewhere. She's made herself completely invaluable and she'll be difficult to replace if she does move on.

18 Britt McHenry

via usmagazine.com

Before Britt McHenry joined the ESPN staff, she played Division 1 soccer for Stetson University. She started out as reporter for ABC7 Washington but her career quickly gave her bigger opportunities and moved to ESPN as a reporter. She then began to write for ESPN website and earned quite the following becoming an important part of the team and reporting on different sports in the US. She served as a correspondent for various shows including SportsCenter, Outside the Lines, NFL Live and Baseball Tonight.

Unfortunately, her career was not controversy free. In 2015 a video leaked of her making disparaging remarks to a tow lot employee about their phsyical appearance and she was caught on tape using her "celebrity" as a reason to act like a jerk. She apologized, but had damaged her reputation in a major way. In April 2017, she announced she was being let go by ESPN.

17 Ines Sainz

Ines Sainz is extremely attractive and has become one of the most popular sports journalists in Mexico. She is currently a Mexican journalist hosting the Spanish-language sports interview program DxTips (or, Deportips); she is also a journalist for Azteca Deportes.

Sainz has interviewed some of the most famous sports athletes in multiple sports and by 2009, Sainz had covered three Champions League tournaments, four NBA Finals, the 2004 Athens Olympics, the 2006 World Cup and six Super Bowls. At the 2007 Super Bowl's "media day," Sainz was photographed as often as Peyton Manning and was the single-most popular person on the premises. During a period when Terrell Owens was not speaking with the press, it was only Sainz who was able to gain an exclusive interview with the wide receiver.

16 Jackie Redmond

via tgatmar.wordpress.com

Jackie Redmond first caught people's attention as part of a reality search for Canada's next sportscaster on Drafted which aired on The Score Network. When Sportsnet purchased the network, she became part of their broadcasting team. A young, talented and beautiful presenter for the sports world, she is now a presenter for Sportsnet Central.

Currently, she is working on Sportsnet TV as a host of Misplays of the Month,  the highlights desk & all things of WWE. She's a big part of the network's programming and she'll likely only get more opportunities in the future. She wasn't just hired because of her good looks though. She really does know her stuff and had to beat out a ton of other reality show contestants to win her spot. Her good looks did help though.

15 Cari Champion

via heavy.com

As you can tell, Cari Champion is extremely attractive. She's also a very popular member of the ESPN broadcast team. She worked as an anchor and reporter for the Tennis Channel and was hired as the host of ESPN2's First Take (a job she had to beat Heidi Watney and Jemele Hill to get). In July 2015, Champion became an anchor for ESPN's flagship program SportsCenter.

Champion is not without controversy. She once got caught calling a mechanic a "mothasucka" on live tv (which the network thought she'd said something much worse so they fired her) and in another instance was forced to apologize on ESPN for stating that a special needs kid with Down syndrome hitting a free throw shouldn't have been ranked number one on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays. It created such a stir that CBS' Boomer Esiason called for ESPN to suspend her on his popular Boomer and Carton radio program.

14 Charlotte Jackson

via youtube.com

Charlotte Jackson is a very diverse talent. She started as an English journalist and television presenter and is now currently a presenter on Sky Sports News. But that's not all she's done in her professional career.

She played lacrosse and tennis for Hampshire, she was a professional singer and background vocalist and she hosted the Barnardos Young Supporters Concert from 2005–2009. She also participated in Catfight boxing match in Hammersmith Palais and in 2004 Jackson wrote and presented sports news for a variety of sports websites, including sportal.com, TEAMtalk, Football365 and Golf365 among other sports-related websites.

There isn't much this beauty hasn't done in sports and that makes her even more attractive. Unfortunately, guys, she is married to Wales football manager Chris Coleman. She's officially off the market.

13 Erin Andrews

How do you not include someone who was voted "America's sexiest sportscaster" in 2007 and 2008 by Playboy magazine? That's Erin Andrews and she is a sideline reporter for the NFL on Fox to go along with a pretty nice side gig as the co-host of Dancing With the Stars.

Andrews began working for ESPN as a reporter for ESPN National Hockey Night. She moved on to the College World Series, Little League World Series, and Great Outdoor Games. Not done by a long shot, Andrews began serving as a sideline reporter for ESPN College Football Saturday Primetime and Big Ten college basketball games and she continually got promoted. She covered ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime and Major League Baseball sideline reporting. From 2008 to 2010, she reported for ESPN’s and ABC’s live coverage of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

She left ESPN in 2012 to join Fox Sports and has been moving on up ever since.

12 Charly Caruso

via hawtcelebs.com

Charly Caruso is one of the WWE's newer talents. She's a behind the scenes interview and part-time broadcaster for pre and post-show segments and she's quickly gaining steam as a reliable member of the WWE crew. Like Renee Young before her, the WWE has moved more toward attractive, but the knowledgeable female talent in these roles and Caruso seems to fit in nicely.

She's becoming a must-follow on Instagram as she sends out all sorts of pics of her relaxing (in a few different swimsuits) and hanging with other WWE women who do the same. Since Renee Young is now married, perhaps Caruso is the one to watch. Who are we kidding, they're both worth the social media follow and both extremely attractive. You can see her live every Monday night on RAW.

11 Amanda Pflugrad

via addictedtoquack.com
advertising

Amanda Pflugrad currently serves as the reporter/host for the Boston Celtics, but she's done the same job for teams like the New York Jets and for women's gymnastics on ESPN. She also worked for the CBS Sports Network covering the AVP Beach Volleyball Tour. Most of her job includes pre and post game interviews, game recaps/analysis as well as daily updates from practice.

Pflugrad got her start as a reporter/host at FOX Sports Arizona and hosted various shows and events ranging from working for the Arizona Cardinals to appearing on the Style Showdown with Melissa Rivers. She majored in broadcast journalism and was a cheerleader for Oregon for four years.

Yep, she's into sports and was a cheerleader. Sounds like a win-win. She's also got that neighbor next door kind of look going on.

10 Sara Carbonero

via digilander.libero.it

International beauty and sports; one of the best combinations ever! While Sara Carbonero was in the process of earning her Journalism bachelor's degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, she entered as an intern at Radio Marca and six months later she was hired. Since then, she's been a Spanish sports journalist.

She's got an interesting side story. During the 2010 FIFA World Cup it was alleged that Carbonero, reporting during the match between Spain and Switzerland, had distracted her husband Iker Casillas, causing an unexpected Swiss victory. The allegations were made in the English press and caught fire with other English papers. It got so bad it took the Madrid-based Spanish newspapers El MundoEl País and the popular sports daily Marca to all run articles suggesting that the claims were preposterous and untrue.

9 Alex Curry

Outside of being extremely cute, Alex Curry is a reporter known for being the host of Angels Weekly and Kings Weekly. She's been part of the LA Kings broadcast crew with Jim Fox and Bob Miller since 2013 and in her work, you can see how her bubbly personality shines through on a regular basis.

This attractive broadcaster studied Journalism at San Diego State University and worked for Fuel TV while in school. After graduation, she worked for Last Call With Carson Daly, then she joined Fox Sports West in 2012.

She's now a reporter for FOX Sports West and co-host of Team Ninja Warrior on the USA Network. Curry has covered everything from E! News Now top stories to football, baseball, hockey, volleyball and action sports all around the world.

8 Charissa Thompson

via si.com

Charissa Thomspon is a television host and sportscaster with Fox Sports 1 and NBC. When she's not working on sports, she is also one of the co-hosts news show Extra alongside Mario Lopez and Tracy Edmonds. Thompson previously worked for ESPN, Versus, GSN and the Big Ten Network. She was the co-host of SportsNation along with Marcellus Wiley until her departure from ESPN for Fox Sports in June 2013.

She became the host of Fox Sports Live on the new Fox Sports 1 network when it debuted on August 17, 2013 (the first day of Fox Sports 1) and she also was one of the American hosts of Ultimate Beastmaster.

Thompson is a grizzled veteran even though she's been at the game for less than a decade. She knows her stuff and her appearances ensure eyeballs on the product.

7 Erin Sharoni

This beauty is Erin Sharoni. Sharoni is the US Deputy Editor of DJ Mag, a Creative Strategist for biotech startup InsideTracker, and a media personality. She got her start in sports broadcasting as a host and anchor on the CBS Sports Network and CBS Sports.com, went onto work with Jim Rome on Showtime, and then to CNBC Sports Biz on the NBC Sports Network.

In 2010, Erin was selected as a fitness model to appear in a national advertising campaign for FILA athletic apparel and became their Brand Ambassador in 2012. She was all over their ads for FILA Body Toning System, FILA Yoga and Personal Performance apparel lines.

She's big into music and lists one of her jobs as a DJ/producer. Sharoni is trying to cover pretty much every base and something tells me her looks will help her get there.

6 Heidi Watney

via celebmafia.com

Heidi Watney is a host and reporter for MLB Network. A graduate of the University of San Diego, her past sportscasting experience includes roles at New England Sports Network in Boston, Time Warner Cable SportsNet in Los Angeles, and two stations in Fresno.

From 2008-2011, Heidi Watney covered the Red Sox for NESN. During that period, rumors surfaced that she was dating then-Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek as well as Nick Green, who was with the team for the 2009 season. Some alleged that the affair led to Varitek filing for divorce from his wife of more than 10 years in July 2008.

Watney was just one of many female reporters out of the Red Sox organization alleged to have had relationships with players. It was almost like it was the cool thing to do at that time.

5 Katie Nolan

via si.com
advertising

Katie Nolan is a sports personality and television host on Fox Sports 1. She's not only hot, but she's super good at what she does. Nolan formerly hosted the weekly series Garbage Time with Katie Nolan, which premiered on March 15, 2015 and won a Sports Emmy in 2016.

But, it wasn't all good news. In February of 2017, it was announced that Garbage Time would be retooled and/or Fox Sports would find a new hosting vehicle for Nolan. Since then, there has been no news about any potential new show, her production company (Embassy Row) hasn't commented, and Nolan herself hasn’t appeared on any of the many shows the network airs. She sent one tweet saying "Man, I miss working" and that led to all sorts of speculation that her time was coming to an end with the network.

4 Samantha Ponder

via si.com

Samantha Ponder is currently the host of Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN and has some pretty big shoes to fill from former host Chris Berman. If there's one thing that might help, it's her knowledge of the game and her incredibly good looks (looks, which Berman did not offer viewers).

That didn't stop viewers who were faithful to Berman from lashing out at Ponder over social media. While she was pregnant, she received all sorts of nasty tweets and messages that made her feel terrible, but also made her fight even harder. For that, she's doubly attractive. Not only did she get the job, but she knocked a few idiots down a couple pegs.

Ponder was the host for the 2016 season of BattleBots and is married to Christian Ponder who is a longtime NFL quarterback.

3 Lauren Thompson

via cycyr.com

Lauren Thompson is easily one of the most beautiful women in golf. She is a television personality, print model, and voiceover actor who got her start in sports interviewing as a sexy backstage reporter for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). She left TNA and is currently working for the Golf Channel as a co-host on the daily morning show Morning Drive and host of the new series called Heart of a Champion on NBC .

Having a beautiful face and gorgeous figure, she's found a way to mix her knowledge of the game of golf and show offer her assets to win over thousands of adoring fans. One Google search and you can see all sorts of her modeling work. We'd have loved to put something a bit more revealing here, but trust me, you'll be glad we told you to Google her name.

2 Leeann Tweeden

via imdb.com

We had a hard time finding pictures of Leann Tweeden that were appropriate for this list. She has so many modeling photos all over the internet and most of them are way too revealing for us to have put here. She's another one you'll be glad you Googled.

In 1992, while working at Hooters, she won the Venus International Model Search. That gained her all sorts of mainstream exposure and she went on to model Hooters and Venus International along with Frederick's of Hollywood and Playboy.

Tweeden was a correspondent for Fox Sports Net's Best Damn Sports Show Period from 2001 to 2007. In 2008, she became the third hostess of the NBC late night television series Poker After Dark. Tweeden was most recently seen doing pre- and post-game coverage on Fox Sports West and is currently working on Fox Sports 1's UFC Tonight, with Kenny Florian and Ariel Helwani.

1 Melanie Collins

She's interviewed hundreds of top athletes and celebrities and has gained international exposure hosting for various networks on multiple platforms and she's extremely smart, knowledgeable and of course, attractive. She's currently the host of Big Break & Driver vs Driver on Golf Channel as well as a sideline reporter for CBS Sports.

When we made this list, the numbers did not signify a particular order of hotness or a ranking, but a case can be made to put Collins right where she wound up. She's maybe the most attractive of them all.
