McGregor Vs Mayweather Money Belt Is Really Over The Top

Just when we thought the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather fight scheduled for this Saturday night in Las Vegas couldn't get any crazier, they made their own championship belt.

Even though this is McGregor's first ever boxing match and he's essentially an amateur at the sport, both men will battle it out for a WBC "Money Belt" that's encrusted with 3,600 diamonds.

As much as McGregor and Mayweather have been hyping this fight, I guess the WBC couldn't help themselves and had to create a special belt for the winner.

If Mayweather ends up defeating McGregor—which is expected by everyone—he would then win his 16th title belt of his long and successful boxing career.

The belt has both Mayweather and McGregor's names on it and is made of 3.3 pounds of 24-karat gold while featuring 3,360 diamonds, 600 sapphires, and 160 emeralds.

"In order to celebrate this event between the WBC hero and the UFC hero, Conor McGregor, the WBC has created the Money Belt," said WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, via The Telegraph.

"This belt has 3,360 diamonds, 600 sapphires, 300 emeralds, 1.5 kilograms of solid, 24-karat gold and alligator leather that comes from Italy."

The UFC's official Twitter account posted a video of the "Money Belt."

During an appearance on ESPN's First Take on Thursday, UFC President and McGregor's promotor Dana White explained how McGregor can knock out Mayweather.

White started off by saying that this will not be a boxing match, instead it will be a "fight" and McGregor will go after Mayweather. But he doesn't believe Mayweather will go after McGregor like he claims he will.

No one believes that Mayweather—the greatest defensive fighter ever—will aggressively go after a 29 year-old fighter like McGregor who has so much to prove in the biggest fight of his life.

White said that he believes that Mayweather getting his 50th win means way too much for him to change his boxing style for one match against McGregor.

White also said that in a 12 round fight, McGregor will catch Mayweather and he will hit him. He said McGregor will be hitting Mayweather's arms, shoulders, chest and not just the chin.

White even went as far as to say that "when Conor McGregor knocks out Floyd Mayweather on Saturday" he will be waiting to hear the excuses of how Mayweather was too old to fight him.

We have to give White credit. He's certainly going out when it comes to hyping up Saturday's fight. He has to try to sell every last ticket and pay-per-view he can.
