On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel announced that The Miz will return to the WWE on next week's show.
The Miz hasn't been on television since losing his Intercontinental Championship to Roman Reigns on the Nov. 20 Raw show. He then took time off to film The Marine 6, which also stars Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and fellow superstar, Becky Lynch. It was the fourth appearance for Miz and his Jack Carter character in The Marine film series. Lynch returned during a house show last week, after missing nearly two months for filming the movie.
Before losing his match to Reigns, The Miz had held onto the Intercontinental Championship for 169 days. During that time, he formed The Miztourage faction with Dallas and Axel, who have done a solid job in covering for their leader during his absence. Miz's wife, Maryse, is pregnant has been off of television for several months now.
Prior to being written off of television, The Miz had been feuding with Braun Strowman, after his tag team turned on The Monster Among Men at the TLC pay-per-view by dumping him in a garbage truck. Miz then began the rivalry with Reigns, and it remains to be seen if they'll continue their feud when he returns.
The Miz was named 2017 Wrestler of the Year by Rolling Stone Magazine, who praised him for "absolutely dynamic" matches against the likes of Roman Reigns, John Cena, and others. There's no denying that The Miz absolutely flourished once again as a top-notch heel, and we can probably expect big things for him again in 2018.
Now that he's set to return, we'll see if The Miz can build off what was an impressive 2017 campaign. The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is less than a month away, so we'll see if anything opens up there for him in storyline.
