Hockey isn't typically the sport that first comes to mind when thinking of beautiful women. Sure, it's not uncommon for National Hockey League (NHL) players to attract beautiful women (Carrie Underwood, Hilary Duff, and Elisha Cuthbert, to name a few), but, for the most part, hockey players are gritty-looking dudes not exactly known for their good looks. Yet, as we've highlighted in the past, those same players have produced absolutely beautiful women. While few are as hot as the prototypical example, Paulina Gretzky, there are still numerous examples of strikingly-hot NHL daughters, to the point where we could - and have - produce a list of 15 or 20 of the hottest with notable exemptions.
However, beautiful women aren't only associated with hockey by birth or marriage, they're playing the game at a rapidly-increasing rate. Hockey might still be the least popular of the four major sports in the United States, but it's growing substantially, and is the top sport in countries like Canada, Sweden, and Finland. As such, we have been blessed by the growing amount of beautiful women participating. And while they're more covered up with equipment than women in other sports, they don't mind showing off their assets elsewhere. Which group do you think is hotter - players or daughters?
16 Daughter: Isabella Yzerman
Steve Yzerman will be remembered as one of the greatest captains in NHL history. The former Detroit Red Wings star won multiple Stanley Cups with the franchise and is seventh in all-time scoring with 1,755 points. Yet, despite that impressive career, he might soon be better recognized as a legendary general manager given his background with the Canadian Olympic team and role as GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
15 Player: Angelina Goncharenko
Russia might not top the list of the countries known for producing beautiful women, but the ones it does are off-the-charts beautiful, especially given the accent. You've probably seen the WWE's Lana, and while she isn't actually from Russia, the Russian accent she uses amplifies her hotness; without it, she's just another pretty woman from Florida.
14 Daughter: Carlin Domi
If we had to pick the most surprising inclusion on this list it would easily be Carlin Domi. Nothing against her, but it's not a shock to suggest her father, Tie, is the ugliest father on this list, and that's without even knowing the dads of the female hockey players. Tie is one of the NHL's all-time greatest fighters and he even had some skill to boot, but he isn't going to be featured in GQ Magazine any time soon.
13 Player: Eveliina Suonpaa
If you weren't aware, for whatever reason, the most beautiful female hockey players happen to be goaltenders. Under all that equipment and the full goalie mask which constricts her face, Eveliina Suonpaa is one of those beautiful women who tends the net. She's a 22 year old who is listed at 5-foot-8 and 139-pounds, but her diminutive stature hasn't limited her abilities between the pipes. In fact, Suonpaa has won a pair of World Championship bronze medals with Finland, which is quite impressive given Canada and the United States are leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in terms of talent.
12 Daughter: Caley Chelios
Chris Chelios is a 55 year old Hall of Fame defenseman who played up until his late 40s. Through 1,651 career games, the three-time James Norris Trophy winner recorded 948 points to go along with 2,891 penalty minutes. While his daughter Caley didn't quite follow in his footsteps by becoming a prominent female hockey player, she did, however, pursue a career in sports broadcasting.
11 Player: Valentina Wallner
Sweden is generally known for its beautiful, blonde-haired women. There's a reason for that which we won't get into, but we certainly can't argue with the results. The country has produced countless supermodels and blonde babes, but Valentina Wallner isn't one of those. Make no mistake, she could certainly be featured in magazines, but she's surprisingly not blonde. This Swedish babe is a 27 year old brunette who plays goal for the Haninge Anchors HC of Sweden's first division league.
10 Daughter: Kendyl Fuhr
As far as we can tell, Kendyl Fuhr hasn't been active on social media - aside from Facebook - since 2013, at least on public accounts. She has a Twitter account in which her profile picture is of her and her father Grant Fuhr and states that she is an esthetician and forever Edmonton Oilers fan. She looks a little like Krysten Ritter, which is definitely a good thing if you're a fan of Jessica Jones. Going back even further, Fuhr has a MySpace page, which apparently still exists, but only includes outdated photos of her teenage years.
9 Player: Meeri Raisanen
Surprise, surprise, another goaltender. Meeri Raisanen is a 27 year old blonde babe from Finland who has played all over since making her professional debut in 2006. In addition to playing for several club teams in her home country, she spent one season as the goaltender for Robert Morris University and has represented her country multiple times at the Olympics and at World Championships. In fact, at the 2015 World Championships, she posted a remarkable 1.99 goals against average and a .930 save percentage, helping Finland capture the bronze medal.
8 Daughter: Dominika Hasek
Dominik Hasek is one of the best goaltenders of all-time and you could probably make the case he sits atop that list. His unorthodox style confused shooters and earned him the appropriate nickname of "The Dominator," as he was just that - dominant. A 10th-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft, he didn't make his NHL debut until 1990, but played until he was 42 years old, during which time he won six Vezina Trophies as the league's top goaltender.
7 Player: Maggie Cory
Earlier in September, one prominent online blog created a stir online when it posted a story about Maggie Cory being the hottest college female hockey player. Some took issue with the fact it focused more on her looks than her ability, but what's wrong with highlighting both? Cory is a goaltender with Ohio State University, which runs a prominent program that clearly requires great skill to be noticed. So it's undeniable that she has talent; in fact, the 18 year old freshman posted an impressive .915 save percentage in 35 games with the Madison Capitols U19 team last year.
6 Daughter: Julia Scorupco
Mariusz Czerkawski might not be the most memorable NHL player of all-time, but the Polish winger had a decent career, posting 435 points in 745 games. His biggest accomplishment, however, might be the fact he was briefly married to Polish-Swedish actress and former Bond Girl Izabella Scorupco. They were only married for two years, but had a daughter, Julia, who kept her mother's maiden name and is now a 20 year old babe who could easily be a super model.
5 Player: Anna Prugova
Some female hockey players prefer to keep the focus on their on-ice ability, while others don't mind showcasing parts of their personal lives on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. There are even some who will do photo shoots that emphasize their beauty, which is totally cool by us. Anna Prugova, however, is completely aware of her sexuality and isn't worried about some might think of her sexy photo shoots.
4 Daughter: Reide Housley
Arguably one of the greatest American defenseman of all-time, Phil Housley played 1,495 career games in the NHL and recorded 1,232 points. He is best remembered for his time with the Buffalo Sabres, where he consistently recorded 65-plus point seasons, but had a career year in Winnipeg, accumulating 97 points to finish second on the team in scoring during the 1992-93 season. Despite never winning a Norris Trophy, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 and is currently an assistant coach with the Nashville Predators.
3 Player: Monika Gyomber
Hungary is far from a hockey power - the country often competes internationally in Division-II or Division-III - but we wish it was if Monika Gyomber was involved. From the little information we can gather online, the Hungarian goaltender last represented her country at the Division III World Championships in 2011 and posted an impressive .947 save percentage through three games. She has also played for a men's league team in Budapest as well as Sweden's Vaxjo Ladies Lakers and Germany's ECDC Memmingen.
2 Daughter: Paulina Gretzky
What else is there to say about Paulina Gretzky at this point? If she isn't the hottest daughter of all professional athletes, she's certainly the most noteworthy. The daughter of the greatest hockey player of all-time made headlines years ago when her partying ways became the subject of her Instagram posts, which drew backlash upon both her and her father, Wayne, who eventually went public by noting she needed to tone down her wild ways.
1 Player: Hilary Knight
If Paulina holds the crown as the hottest of NHL daughters, Hilary Knight is at the top of the list of hottest female hockey players. The 28 year old California native has a picture-perfect smile and looks appealing fully clothed and in full hockey gear, but she proved she's got the body of a goddess when she posed for ESPN's The Body Issue. She was completely naked for the photo shoot aside from wearing skates, although everything was conveniently covered up. You could, however, see her tight stomach and powerful legs.
Beyond being the hottest female hockey player, Knight is one of the most talented. She has led the United States in scoring at multiple World Championships and has seven gold medals at the event to go along with two Olympic silver medals.
