When we think of sports and women, our minds are often drawn to golf and the famous Paige Spiranac or Lindsey Vonn. If not golf or skiing, men often think of Danica Patrick and the racing game. It makes sense as there is some big sponsorship going out for these women who draw big numbers to their respective industries. Unless you follow it closely, sport fishing isn't one of those activities that get a lot of mass media attention. Perhaps it should.

They say we can give a man a fish and feed him for a day or we can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. We'd suggest that phrase is a bit outdated. In today's fishing game, women are dominating and they can teach the men a few things about feeding themselves for a lifetime. Unlike a lot of the men, the women have figured out not only how to enjoy the sport, but make a career at it by marrying a mix of their skills and good looks. Women like Michelle Dalton, Brooke Thomas and Krista Tucker are all the rage and if you take one look at their social media pages are developing quite the following. They know there's money and fame in both being good at what they do and looking good while they do it.

So with that in mind, it seems only appropriate to not only congratulate those women on becoming huge ambassadors for their sport but making it a past time men are once again flocking to for more than just the good eats. Not all of these women are doing this for the fame. Some truly love the sport. Either way, we applaud them.

Who are sport fishings most popular women? Keep reading as we take a look at 15 women that guys love to watch fish and have lured into the sport.

15 Kayla Nevius

While a lot of our list hails from Florida, Kayla Nevius is a West Coast girl all over the California bass fishing scene. She's quickly gaining steam in the sport and also unlike a lot of the other women on this list, she's done so by staying relatively conservative in her photos and posts. She's letting her skills as a sports fisherwoman do the talking and it's working.

Her photos wearing camouflage, shooting archery, and hunting all kinds of game have been spreading around the Internet and she's one of the more respected women in the game. If you want to read about some of Kayla's adventures you can do so on realtree.com in a series of posts called 5 to 9 with Kayla Nevius.

14 Darcie Arahill

Darcie Arahill often goes by the name Darcizzle. She's been in the fishing game since the age of three. She used to go lobstering with her father and since that day has climbed the fishing ladder of success.

She currently lives in Boynton Beach, FL and fishes weekly while writing for Coastal Angler Magazine, Palm Beach County edition, and her own monthly fishing report. When asked about fishing she describes it as her everything. She has no kids or family, she doesn't drink, and she has a full-time photographer who goes out with her every day. She is the first 15 year old to appear on a national fishing TV show. She's also clearly in great shape and has no problem sharing her experiences with her fans.

13 Maddie Brenneman

Maddie Brenneman has taken the fly fishing world by storm and she's blown up in the last couple years as one of the most attractive women in fishing but also for her skill in catching huge trout. It's ironic because between her and her boyfriend, she wasn't even the sport fisher in the pair. But, that all changed quickly and with over 104K followers on Instagram she is now Colorado's most famous female sport fisher and guide.

She says the perfect day for her would involve taking a beginner that starts from scratch and helping them learn to fish. Her boyfriend and his family taught her and she thinks it's amazing to see how much people can learn in just a couple hours. She started by fishing with her little sister during the summers in Canada and today a number of her photos are still taken there.

12 Rebekka Redd

Rebekka Redd is a well-known world-traveling fly angler. She has nearly 20 years of fly fishing experience and she photographs, writes, and even paints her favorite thing to do – fish. She is one of the more recognized names in the game (if you pay attention to the sport) as she's an actor, director and script writer and most of her work revolves around fishing in all forms. Her preference is fishing for pike.

She is the host of The New Fly Fisher TV on WFN and as it says on her "About" page on Facebook, "When she's not fishing...She's fishing..." Her work has been published globally, and she has been featured on the front of 17 magazine covers. It helps that she's both incredibly good at what she does and attractive as any other sport fisher on our list.

11 Cheyenne Lee

A World-record spearfishing holder, Cheyenne Lee is an absolute knockout on our list. She won 1st Place all around woman's diver in the King of the Keys Spearfishing Tournament, 1st place woman's snapper and grouper in the free-diving division of the That's What She Shot Tournament and Cheyenne is an avid tournament competitor with a number of podium finishes.

She's still very early in her fishing career, but she's achieved a lot already. Spending most of her time in the Florida Keys, she is someone to keep an eye out for if you're starting to follow the sport. She believes in taking only what you need and her goal is to inspire others. One look at her Instagram account and you can see how much she inspires her followers.

10 Nicole Spenc

Nicole Spenc would rank near the top of many lists as she's a print, runway, and bikini model from Cocoa Beach FL. She moved to Orlando seven years ago to pursue her aspirations of being a model which she's been doing since the age of 16.

When it comes to fishing, she is a Lady Angler having been introduced to the sport before she was even born. Her father used to take her mother flounder gigging while she was pregnant and the entire family is in to the sport deeply. She loves not only the actual sport but the travel and weather that goes along with it. Nicole can be booked for promotions, fishing trips or calendar shoots, which if you have money could catapult her to number one on your list with a simple email.

9 Tina Cerrone

Christina “Tina” Cerrone is another one of the many women on this list from Florida. She is an angler out of the Hillsborough Inlet and she often heads on over to the Bahamas looking for open sea fish. Her favorite catch is Swordfish and with over 40K followers on Instagram, apparently her followers love to watch her catch them too.

She's not at all shy about sharing everything she's doing on her social media accounts and she's quickly becoming one to watch in the sport. Watch out for her as she's getting more and more popular every day and understands that by attracting people to her accounts, she's attracting them to the sport. She's got a steady boyfriend of five years so best the guys can do is be a fan from afar.

8 Brie Gabrielle

The current co-host of the Chevy Florida Insider Fishing Report on Fox Sports Sun, Brie Gabrielle is a model, actress, and beauty pageant titleholder. As Miss Florida 2016, there is no denying she is extremely attractive but better yet, she also seems to be a lot of fun. Her nickname is “The OFishalInsider”, she has an IMBD page, and Instagram account with over 36K followers and a Facebook page with almost 10K likes. She's one of the more popular and diverse women on this list.

She uses her page to get hired for projects of all kinds and while she fishing is where she spends most of her time now, you can tell she's looking toward the future and doing bigger and better things. She starred in the Netflix show Bloodline and had a regular role on the daytime drama Days of Our Lives.

7 Luiza Barros

Some people may think we're crazy for not putting Luiza Barros at the top of this list but what we can tell you is one, we didn't actually rank the women on this list so her being here at No. 8 is not an indictment of her status but more just where she was placed. Second, we agree. She's clearly one of the hottest women on our list.

She is featured on magazine cover after magazine cover and she's an author and pro at posing for all sorts of photos. Take one look at her Instagram account and you'll see why she has almost 200K followers. It's possible she has the best body of anyone we chose here and you can tell she works hard to keep up that look. She loves fishing, diving, traveling and everything related to the outdoors.

6 Emily Riemer

Running close to Luiza Barros for Instagram followers is local Miami native Emily Riemer who is doing quite well with almost 105K followers. Clearly, she knows how to draw fans and eyeballs to not only her own profile but sport fishing as well.

Take a look at her account and you'll be there for a while as she has over 300 posts of herself in either skimpy swimwear, fancy dresses or getting dirty doing a lot of the less glamorous parts of the sport. She fishes in a bikini because of the weather, fights for many minutes to catch fish that often weight more than her, takes a quick pic – often without cleaning herself off because she says it is ‘more authentic’ and then releases. She said once in an interview, with Sun Online: "Nothing gets my adrenaline rushing more than fighting a big fish then landing it successfully. I’m getting excited just talking about it." Your fans are getting excited about you getting excited about thinking about it.

5 Brooke Thomas

Brooke Thomas is a Florida-based angler who has loved fishing since being a child then turned that love into a career. She started by fishing in local Bass tournaments, graduated with a degree and secured a job at an insurance company out of Tampa, FL, fishing at every opportunity she could. Eventually, she realized corporate life was not for her so she moved towards the water full time, got a sponsor and never looked back.

She has quickly become a well-known personality in the fishing world. Brooke has been on the cover of multiple magazines, been a spokesperson for top-tier brands, and repped her own brand through calendars and other products. It's working with her over 218k Instagram followers bringing more and more attention to sport fishing.

4 Chasten Whitfield

If you want to meet the future of sport fishing, keep your eye on Fisherman Chasten Whitfield. She is the youngest woman on our list and has become known for her  “Reprimand Whitefish” adventures. She's got a huge following at a young age and new people to the sport are looking at Whitfield as an example to follow.

Even more impressive is the fact that she's become a hero to young kids as she was bullied for her passion for fishing but didn't let it get her down. She used it as fuel to become better and better. She also turned the attention into an opportunity to teach youngsters how to throw a cast. Whitfield donated her first-ever prize money to the Children’s Burn Camp charity. She's an absolute example of what is great about the sport.

3 Jessica Jae

Jessica Jae is another top female angler from Florida and has been fishing since childhood. She has built a respectable social media fan base and really got into the sport after she graduated from high school.  Jae targets redfish, trout, tarpon, black drum, sheepshead, flounder, mangrove snapper, Cobia, and kingfish and uses jerk bait, topwater, flies, mullet, ladyfish, or pinfish to catch the reds which appear to be her fish of choice.

She has no real huge plans to take over the sport or become the most famous woman in the game, she simply wants to do what she loves - which is fish. She doesn't have the most likes on Facebook or the most Twitter followers. Her Instagram account pales in comparison to some of the other women on this list but for someone who isn't trying all that hard, she sure has caught a lot of attention.

2 Krista Tucker

One of the women on this list who isn't just good looking but clearly has fun with the sport, Capt. Krista Tucker (otherwise known as “Redfish” Tucker) once used a McDonald's Chicken Nugget to catch a redfish and the video went viral. She loves to use different and often silly techniques and her unique approach to sport fishing has made her a fan favorite.

Her catchphrase is that she'll call in sick when the bite is on and she was the girl in school who taught the boys how to fish. She's been known to study schools of fish for days to make that one "fishing day" just perfect. Those are the days she loves best. She's good looking and she's smart. What more can you ask for? It's easy to see why she's luring people to the sport.

1 Michelle Dalton

Michelle is a 26-year-old Florida native, currently living in Lighthouse Point (a popular spot for fishing). She caught her first fish when she was six years old and that was it, she was hooked. She has no issue traveling to find the next-best destination and while most of her fishing is done in Florida, throughout the Caribbean and parts of Central America she intends to travel the world entering fishing tournaments along the way.

A beauty who has over 150K followers on Instagram, her fans are following her on her journey too. She's part of the Pelagic women’s fishing squad, a team loaded with good looking anglers but she might just be the most attractive team member.
