Let’s be clear right from the start. None of these athletes are confirmed to be gay or anything like that. The purpose of this list is to go a bit more in depth about some of the rumors that are surrounding these players, not to convince the reader that these athletes are gay. Or, and not to quote Seinfeld, that there would be anything wrong with that.
In the modern day, it is completely acceptable and encouraged for individuals to be who they really are and receive support from those around them. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been like that forever, especially not in sports.
For a long time, those in sports were hiding who they really were to avoid scrutiny from the public, fans and their league. Players would be completely living a lie, without anyone suspecting a thing for the most part.
In fact, as society is now much more open to people no matter their orientation, we have seen a ton more athletes, both active and retired, come out and admit that they are homosexuals, and it's absolutely a great thing. Despite this improvement, there are likely still plenty of pro athletes all over the world who are afraid to truly be themselves.
This list will look at some of the most high profile examples of pro athletes who have had rumors about being gay surrounding them, but again, none of those are confirmed and even if they were confirmed, they would be something to celebrate.
10 Josh Selby
9 Carl Lewis

1 Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers who is arguably the best QB in the NFL, but he has also been subject to many rumors about his sexuality. These rumors began when he allegedly had a falling out with his former assistant and roommate, who claimed that he and Rodgers were romantically involved and were more than just roommates. Since their inception, Rodgers has denied all of the rumors and claimed that the man was nothing more than a friend, roommate and assistant.
