Athletes and celebrities have quite a few things in common. Both are constantly in the public eye. Both often endorse certain products and help skyrocket particular trends. Perhaps, most importantly, both tend to be in good shape, as their body is essentially a tool in their craft. They shell out endless amounts of money for personal trainers, nutritionists, and home gyms – anyone who has seen photos of the Brady family gym knows just how seriously an athlete and celebrity take their work outs. Celebrities are always trying to look younger, while athletes are trying to be able to play as if they’re young forever.

One thing that can’t be altered in the gym, however, is one’s face. While some might opt to go under the knife to change their features, a celebrity's or athlete’s face is generally where you can see a bit more character and uniqueness. In many cases, though, Hollywood and the sports world collide as many athletes have celebrity look-a-likes that may as well be long lost siblings. They may not appear to be identical twins, but if placed side by side, these athlete-celebrity duos have enough similarities to catch your eye.

Here is a list of 15 athletes who have some surprising celebrity look-a-likes.

15 15. Michael Phelps and John Krasinski

Michael Phelps is an athletic wonder, having won a total of 22 Olympic medals for his swimming. During the height of his competing years, people followed this ultra-decorated Olympian as if he was a celebrity himself, poring over the tabloids during his smoking scandal and marveling at his staggering 12,000 calorie diet. Phelps also has a celebrity look-a-like in funny man John Krasinski, best known for playing Jim on The Office. One can only wonder what Krasinski's swimming skills are like - probably not up to Phelps' par.

14 14. Andy Roddick and Seann William Scott

Andy Roddick, though retired now, was at one point the number one ranked singles tennis player in the world. While everyone admired his athletic skills, many were equally enthralled by his movie star good looks. With wife Brooklyn Decker, Roddick is also connected to Hollywood in a way that many athletes aren't. It’s really no surprise that he has a look-a-like in the industry – namely, Seann William Scott, most known for playing everyone’s favorite joker, Stifler, in the American Pie movies. Perhaps Stifler could have had a career as a tennis instructor.

13 13. Dan Marino and David Hasselhoff

Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino had an amazing career that includes nine Pro Bowl appearances and a whopping twelve Miami Dolphins MVP titles. He was also the first quarterback to throw for 5,000 yards in one season and the Miami Dolphins eventually decided to retire his number. This former quarterback bears a resemblance to a certain Baywatch star – David Hasselhoff. Let’s just hope Marino doesn’t make any commercials featuring him jogging across a beach in imitation of The Hoff.

12 12. Rafael Nadal and Josh Hartnett

Rafa, Rafa, King of Clay. Nadal is a Spanish tennis player who has received the admiration of many tennis fans and superstars, and has acquired 14 Grand Slam singles titles. The 28 year old bears a resemblance to a certain former heartthrob, Josh Hartnett, who has recently come back to television screens in the series Penny Dreadful.

11 11. Mike Tomlin and Omar Epps

While it’s a bit of a stretch to call him an athlete, as his playing career ended in high school, he’s coached enough and been around football long enough that he’s certainly an honorary athlete. Tomlin, the head coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is incredible at what he does and with the Steelers’ Super Bowl XLIII victor,y became the youngest head coach to take a team to a Super Bowl championship. When watching Steelers games, fans of House might get flashbacks to a certain Dr. Foreman, as Tomlin looks startlingly like actor Omar Epps.

10 10. Kyle Korver and Ashton Kutcher

Basketball player Kyle Korver has bounced around to a couple teams, spending time with the Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and currently, Atlanta Hawks. The 33 year old also has a celebrity look-a-like in Ashton Kutcher. Though Kutcher might not quite measure up to Korver’s 6’7 height, they could be mistaken for brothers, with their similar faces and matching tousled brown hair.

9 9. Phil Mickelson and Hugh Grant

Golfers aren’t generally known as the sexiest of athletes, but Phil Mickelson, who has won countless events and is consistently ranked amongst the top golfers in the world, looks a bit like British charmer Hugh Grant. While “Lefty” probably won’t be getting cast in any rom coms anytime soon, Grant could definitely play Mickelson in a biography of his life. Grant just needs to work on his American accent, and perhaps pick up a colored coat or two.

8 8. Jarrod Washburn and Jason Sudeikis

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Jarrod Washburn is a World Series champion and had a solid career in baseball for over a decade. He also looks quite a bit like everyone’s favorite funny man Jason Sudeikis. Sudeikis is best known for his roles on SNL and Horrible Bosses. Both are family men, and while Sudeikis’ wife Olivia Wilde and Washburn’s wife may not look alike, but their husbands certainly do.

7 7. Lolo Jones and Rashida Jones

Lori “Lolo” Jones is an incredible athlete, competing at the Olympic level in both track and field and bobsled. She passionately pursued her dream of becoming a track star and has since become one of the most well known track and field athletes in history. She shares a last name with actress Rashida Jones, best known for her role as Ann Perkins on the television series Parks and Recreation and as a star in films such as I Love You, Man and Our Idiot Brother. If you look at the two side by side, however, you’ll soon see that the similarities don’t end there.

6 6. Robert Horry and Will Smith

6’10 giant Robert Horry played in the NBA for a whopping sixteen seasons and won an astounding seven championships in his time. He played with several teams: the Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, and finally, the San Antonio Spurs. Since retiring, he has been working as a sports commentator. He also bears a resemblance to a certain Fresh Prince, Mr. Will Smith. In West Maryland, born and raised, on a basketball court he spent most of his days…

5 5. Joakim Noah and Rick Gonzalez

Joakim Noah has spent the entirety of his NBA career thus far with the Chicago Bulls and has won many accolades for his skills as a basketball player. This man of many passports and citizenships has even played for the French national basketball team. While his nearly seven foot height puts him over a foot taller than actor Rick Gonzalez, who is coincidentally best known for his heartbreaking role as basketball player Timo Cruz in Coach Carter, the two definitely look similar.

4 4. Shannon Brown and Chris Brown

Shannon Brown has bounced between NBA teams and currently plays for the Miami Heat. This two time NBA champion shares a last name with rapper Chris Brown (though Brown is a fairly common surname so that’s not saying much). Last name aside, he could almost pass for Chris Brown’s older brother (whether Shannon takes that as an insult or not is up to him).

3 3. Jake Peavy and Jeremy Renner

Jake Peavy has played for several Major League Baseball teams, starting with the San Diego Padres and bouncing to the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox before landing with the San Francisco Giants. The 33 year old, who has a World Series Championship to his name, looks a lot like 43 year old actor Jeremy Renner. The question is can Renner, best known for movie roles in The Hurt Locker, The Bourne Legacy, The Town, and The Avengers, throw a pitch like Peavy?

2 2. Sidney Crosby and Andy Samberg

Sidney Crosby is currently one of the best known names in NHL hockey, serving as the captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has blown opponents away in countless NHL games as well as represented his home nation of Canada internationally. Crosby is somewhat of a celebrity in his own right, but he also bears a striking resemblance to the hilarious Andy Samberg. Samberg earned his notoriety on Saturday Night Live, though he has starred in several films and is currently playing the Golden Globe winning role of Jake Peralta on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

1 1. Aaron Rodgers and B.J. Novak

Anyone who knows anything about sports doesn't need to be told who Aaron Rodgers is, but we can go through some of his greatest hits nonetheless. Rodgers, who is the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, started his NFL career by shadowing superstar quarterback Brett Favre before getting the chance to step into the spotlight himself. Since then, he has been a staple in the Packers’ line up and helped lead the team to a Super Bowl Championship. Rodgers also looks eerily like comedian, actor, and writer B.J. Novak. Known for his friendship with Mindy Kaling, Novak got his start writing for and acting in The Office before moving on to star in films and helping Kaling produce her show, The Mindy Project.
