One of the countless reasons to love sports is the many incredible movies they have inspired. Whether it be an amazing true story from the past depicted in the present producing memories that will live on forever, or legendary comedies showcasing the lighter side of athletics, there is no shortage of entertaining sports movies. There have been so many unreal sports stories in recent years, scripts that write themselves and as popularity in sports continues to skyrocket there is going to be an even larger abundance of movies.
Many of these films feature the most beautiful actresses to ever grace Hollywood. These actresses portray a variety of characters; as in real life, athletes have stunning partners and what's more attractive than an athletic female, this is no different in the casting of sports movies. It was just announced that there will be a movie made about Tonya Harding, she'll be played by the gorgeous Margot Robbie. Once that movie is out, she will vault up near the top of this list, but for now these hottest actresses in sports movies will have to do.
15 Amy Adams - The Fighter
In "The Fighter" the angelic Adams, born in Italy, plays the girlfriend of the boxer "Irish" Micky Ward. When Ward's brother Dicky, a recovering crack addict, is barred from training Micky, Adam's sides with Dicky. Dicky is portrayed by former Batman Christian Bale, though Adams is still more of a Superman girl. She'll continue to be my kryptonite starring as Lois Lane in the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman".
14 Marisa Tomei - The Wrestler
The wonderful Tomei has definitely aged better than her co-star Mickey Rourke. Rourke, a retired boxer, plays the professional wrestler Randy "The Ram" Robinson in this film. Tomei plays the role of a professional stripper (takes off her clothes (even underwear) for money). Robinson befriends her and at first that's all it is, but as things go with a stripper, the friendship developed into something more. If Tomei was at a strip club I was at, I'd be out of dollar bills before I finish my first drink.
13 Julie Bowen - Happy Gilmore
Bowen has become a household name recently with her performance as the Dunphy family mom on "Modern Family". I've heard many people refer to her as a MILF. I'm sure you all know what a compliment that is. She got her start as Virginia Venit in the thrilling golf spectacle Happy Gilmore.
Virginia: [stopping Happy from fighting Shooter] Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey! You want to beat him? Beat him on the course.
Happy Gilmore: That's right, I'm gonna beat your ass on the course!
Shooter McGavin: Yeah, right. And Grizzly Adams had a beard.
Lee Trevino: Grizzly Adams *did* have a beard.
12 Madonna - A League Of Their Own
Before Madonna's Prima Donna ex boyfriend Alex Rodriguez made his MLB debut, she had already starred for the "Rockford Peaches" of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). They didn't test for steroids in this league, but one has to suspect her character Mae Mordabito was not all natural. Madonna never starred in a basketball movie, but did have a very public, albeit terse relationship with Dennis Rodman in the middle of that dominating 72 win Chicago Bulls season.
11 Sandra Bullock - The Blind Side
Sandra Bullock might not have that same natural sex appeal as many on this list, but her strong confident aura makes her more than worthy. In this portrayal of a true story, she plays a passionate mother who rescues Michael Oher from the streets and takes him into her home. She becomes a mother figure in his journey to the NFL. Oher was drafted by the Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. Sandra, you can protect my blind side any time.
10 Renée Zellweger - Jerry Maguire
Long before Zellweger received the plastic surgery heard around the world, she was Dorothy, the ultra-cute single mother willing to join Jerry Maguire's independent agency team after he was fired. Dorothy and her son Ray (who can forget Ray), support Jerry in the process of losing all his clients except Rod Tidwell of the Arizona Cardinals. All's well that ends well, as Jerry shows Tidwell the money, securing him a massive contract.
9 Susan Sarandon - Bull Durham
"There's never been a ballplayer slept with me who didn't have the best year of his career. Making love is like hitting a baseball: you just gotta relax and concentrate."
Those are the words of baseball groupie Annie Savoy who romances the youngster "Nuke" LaLoosh, but finds herself falling in love with the veteran "Crash" Davis. If you haven't seen this movie, what are you waiting for? It is arguably the greatest sports movie ever.
8 Keira Knightley - Bend It Like Beckham
This list shows strong supporting evidence that there is a sexism problem in Hollywood, as Knightley is one of the few actresses who actually plays an athlete. Not only is the movie about females playing sports, it is also tells the story of how difficult it is for an Indian female to enjoy the same freedoms as males. All seriousness aside, Knightley is as hot as an Indian summer, one of the most pulchritudinous humans alive.
7 Christine Taylor - Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
The dazzling Taylor is married to Ben Stiller, who is her fictional nemesis is this classic comedy. When you think of sports, dodgeball doesn't normally jump out at you, but it is arguably the most fun sport you play growing up. Think about the best athletes in the world going head to head; LeBron James vs JJ Watt, yes please.
White Goodman: Oh, Kate, I didn't realize you were here.
Kate Veach: You asked me to come.
White Goodman: [reading a dictionary] Well, you caught me, I like to break a mental sweat too.
6 Nicole Kidman - Days of Thunder
Just like with Tom Cruise in real life, the astonishing Australian falls in love with Cole Trickle, a fearless driver looking to make his mark in NASCAR. Trickle is involved in a devastating crash, sending him to the hospital where he meets Kidman's character, a no-nonsense neurosurgeon. She resists Trickle's advances at first, dismissing his immaturity and car racing all together, but is eventually won over by the Daytona 500 champion.
5 Elizabeth Banks - Seabiscuit
If I was given the choice of dating Elizabeth Banks or Seabiscuit I would probably choose Banks. Now before you dismiss the validation of the question, Seabiscuit is worth millions, and can you imagine our child's athleticism? An absolute stud in the making. Alas, Seabiscuit is dead, and Banks is still a superbly smashing bombshell. Giddy up!
"You know, everyone thinks that we found this broken down horse and fixed him, but we didn't. He fixed us. Every one of us. And I guess in a way, we kinda fixed each other, too."
4 Charlize Theron - The Legend of Bagger Vance
Theron won an Academy award for her portrayal of a serial killer prostitute in the movie "Monster". A monster is exactly what she looks like, indistinguishable from the accustomed beauty of Theron. Luckily, in all her other roles she is the blonde beauty we have come to know and drool over. In the completely far-fetched "The Legend of Bagger Vance", she plays the girlfriend of a war captain who somehow ties golfing legends Walter Hagen and Bobby Jones in a round of golf. This so-called drama is straight science fiction.
3 Cameron Diaz - Any Given Sunday
Another ex girlfriend of Alex Rodriguez, though Diaz can be compared to A-Rod's time with the Mariners as one of the best young players ever, while Madonna would be his controversial years with the Yankees. In this movie, Diaz, one of Hollywood's most powerful actresses, is an owner of a pro football team. "Any Given Sunday" is a prelude to the possibility that anything can happen in any game. The same can not be said about our chances with the goddess that is Cameron Diaz.
2 Rachel McAdams - Southpaw
A Canadian hero. It's a shame that writer Kurt Sutter found it appropriate to (spoiler alert) have McAdams' character shot and killed. We had to stop the movie at that moment; majority decision. You don't kill a Rachel McAdams character, you just don't. Yes it's just a movie, but please try explaining that to my nightmares. Although her time is cut tragically short, she still manages to be the star of this film.
1 Olivia Wilde - Rush
Rush, an appropriate title, is an exhilarating piece of film making. Terribly underrated. The same can not be said about Olivia Wilde, one of Hollywood's greatest treasures. We fell wildly in love with Wilde the moment we were introduced to her, sucking face with Marissa Cooper on "The OC". She transitioned from a sassy California lesbian to a sassy New Jersey doctor on "House", if all doctors looked like her I wouldn't dread my yearly checkup. She was destined for the big screen, and in "Rush" plays a supermodel who marries Formula One driver James Hunt. This movie is based on true events, and nothing is more true than Wilde's ability to properly portray a supermodel.
