For most wrestlers, the ultimate goal is to make it to the WWE. Many of them grew up watching the product at a young age, and aspired to be WWE Superstars. And while it is a major accomplishment to land in the WWE, the experience differs from one Superstar to another. There are names who instantly find a place on the roster, while others get lost in the shuffle. There are also other problems that may arise from backstage politics to travel schedule, which may be conflicting and lead to their departure.

Multiple wrestlers leave the company on yearly basis - whether they are released or decide to move on. With today's numerous options, wrestlers have the opportunity to work for a different company and still be able to make a living. Once wrestlers leave the company, WWE makes sure to bring in replacements over the course of the year from veterans to up and coming names.

New faces are introduced every year to keep the roster fresh as much as possible, creating different match ups for all their events. But some wrestlers are more than willing to overlook all the negatives that come with working for the WWE since the paycheck is too good. While other companies can provide competitors with a more comfortable schedule, they are unable to match WWE's high salaries for the time being. Here are 8 wrestlers set to leave WWE for other promotions and 8 who won't leave the big WWE paycheck.

16 Set To Leave: Big Cass

An injury put Big Cass out of action as of the past couple month, and some have started to wonder whether we will see him back in WWE. The company had high hopes for him since he had the look of a star, but Big Cass has failed to impressed in the ring or on the mic. And for the first chapter of his career, he was carried by his former tag partner Enzo Amore, who's impressive mic skills got them over.

But now that Enzo has been released from the company, WWE may not want Cass around since he will always be associated with his former partner.

It wouldn't exactly be the worst thing to ever happen to Big Cass, who could certainly use some more time outside of the WWE to find his character. He is still young enough to turn around his career, although it may not happen in WWE.

15 Won't Leave: Cesaro

Not many Superstars on the current roster are as respected as Cesaro is by the fans. His momentum has been slowed down since teaming up with Sheamus, although it's been a bright chapter of his career. But the WWE Universe were hoping to see him in the main event picture as a singles competitor, an idea that was instantly shot down by Vince McMahon who doesn't believe that Cesaro has "it".

In an ideal world, Cesaro would love being given an opportunity to prove himself as a top star.

It is not nearly as realistic as it was a few years ago, but at least Cesaro isn't upset at the moment. Some fans have suggested that he would thrive in any other promotion, and while that may be true, it is a lot of money to lose out on. Being in his prime years, Cesaro will continue where the money is found.

14 Set To Leave: Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy made his long awaited return last year at WrestleMania, but unlike his brother, he has been out of action for most of the time due to an injury. Rumors claimed that a main event push was being planned for Hardy until he got hurt - which led to Matt slowly transitioning into his Woken persona. It remains unknown whether Jeff will be adapting Brother Nero as a character once he returns, as he has been cleared to compete.

But he was recently arrested - which may cause a delay and perhaps some heat with the company.

Hardy's stints with the WWE seem to never last too long, so it wouldn't be shocking to see him bolt by the end of the year.

His real life actions as well as WWE's future plans for him will determine whether he sticks around, otherwise he may be wrestling for a different company.

13 Won't Leave: Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy's Broken character is finally receiving the proper booking that made it get over in the first place. Some had questioned whether WWE would invest into a strange gimmick that was created elsewhere, and for the past few weeks, fans have had their doubts.

The company is finally getting back to portraying Broken Matt as we know, which may end up providing him with a huge push.

Prior to his WWE return, Hardy was working for Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor, and while he was concerned about WWE ruining his Broken persona - the money was simply too good to turn down. Regardless if Broken Matt succeeds or flops in the WWE, he is likely to be around for many years to come thanks to the hefty paycheck now that he is getting at an advanced age - as he won't be able to wrestle full time for much longer.

12 Set To Leave: Neville

Neville has been away from the WWE since October when he decided that he had enough of being misused on the roster. He had grown unhappy of being placed in the 205 division, believing that he was being held back from advancing further. And while he reluctantly agreed to be apart of the division, he had higher expectations for the way of which WWE would book him.

Since then, Neville asked for his release from the company, which was denied. WWE doesn't want for other talents to follow Neville's actions every time they are upset, which is why they won't consider it. There are also many figures - mainly Triple H - who have high hopes for Neville and have been attempting to resolve the ongoing issues between both parties. As of now, it seems highly likely that Neville will be working for a different promotion by the end of 2018.

11 Won't Leave: Randy Orton

Randy Orton is most likely going to remain employed by the WWE for the rest of his career. He has been in the WWE for nearly two decades, and has become one of professional wrestling's top stars during that span. There was a time when rumors existed regarding Orton's future, but the company overlooked many incidents involving him as well as immature behavior, to keep him on the roster.

Some believe that Orton has gotten stale in recent years, and is no longer the intriguing star that he once was. However, Orton remains a major part of the product, and will likely be around for at least a couple more years.

He is currently one of the highest paid Superstars with additional perks that most don't receive.

Orton realizes that he won't earn nearly as much anywhere else, and has gotten comfortable enough to never leave Vince McMahon's empire.

10 Set To Leave: Mickie James

Fans were surprised to see Mickie James return to the WWE after years of absence. Some believed that she may not be allowed back in due to backstage politics - as she previously dated John Cena and that ended on a very sour note. But with the company making it a priority to push women's wrestling, they needed more talents on the roster, which is where James came in.

She has provided the veteran presence for the division while mentoring some of the younger wrestlers.

But it's clear now that she may not have a role for much longer, and with some NXT wrestlers making the jump to the main roster, then Mickie James' spot is far from safe. Fans won't be too surprised if James is competing for other promotions by the year's end - as she has previously done so during her WWE hiatus and enjoyed the experience.

9 Won't Leave: Paige

It's likely that Paige never wrestles for the WWE again. She hasn't been cleared to return to in-ring action with her most recent injury being reported as a career ender. But she has remained on screen by being a manager although she hasn't necessarily excelled in that spot. But Paige is popular enough for the WWE to keep around since she has one of the largest followings out of all female wrestlers.

Not to mention her upcoming film - which was produced by the WWE - and set for a release in the near future.

Although Paige could probably work for any other wrestling company in the world, we doubt that she is in any rush to do so.

The WWE paychecks continue to roll in despite her diminished role. She is practically being paid to walk to the ring, not a bad gig at all if you're Paige.

8 Set To Leave: Tye Dillinger

Tye Dillinger had an impressive stint in NXT, leading some to believe that he would transition smoothly into the main roster. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case thus far with his SmackDown run being forgettable. WWE haven't helped him at all by trying to get fans to stop chanting "10", which was one of the reasons behind Dillinger's popularity. He has now become a meme for the most part as far as WWE creative, and likely won't be around for too long.

Dillinger has grown upset with his booking although we are unsure if he is frustrated enough to ditch the WWE paychecks. We may see him in a number of companies where he would get the opportunity to have a decent pay, comfortable schedule and a higher spot on the card. Dillinger isn't exactly young (37) and has been around for more than one would guess, so he has some important career decisions to make.

7 Won't Leave: Sami Zayn

It took Sami Zayn longer than he would have ideally liked to make it on the radar of WWE. But he finally got signed to NXT a few years ago, where he proved that he was more than ready for the big leagues. Zayn had already established himself as a wrestler in various promotions, and some even thought that he would never go to the WWE. Thankfully, they turned out to be wrong as Zayn is currently in the biggest push of his career.

And while we are certainly sure that Zayn hasn't been completely satisfied with his run thus far, he still wouldn't trade those WWE paychecks for a return to the indies. He has a relatively short window to bank as much as possible, so while he may not be entirely happy with the creative team, those paychecks tend to ease the pain for Zayn.

6 Set To Leave: Gallows & Anderson

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson haven't reached their personal expectations. Following an impressive stint in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Ring of Honor, they finally signed with the WWE in 2016. They have had a decent run but not nearly as interesting as fans had hoped. And like so many misused Superstars on the roster, Gallows and Anderson cannot be too happy with the creative team, especially since their switch to Raw.

They should be dominating the WWE Tag Team division, but have gotten lost in the shuffle.

More recently, they began teaming with their old mate Finn Balor, possibly to recreate some of that past magic. It hasn't occurred yet and the team is still not as over as it should be. Many Superstars may leave the WWE this year, and with all the information stated above, that puts Gallows and Anderson in a position to consider changing promotions.

5 Won't Leave: Rusev

Rusev has become an overnight sensation thanks to how over "Rusev Day" has gotten over the past few weeks. He has been vocal about his frustrations with the WWE creative team since he hasn't had much to do. The company could be capitalizing on Rusev's popularity, yet his booking continues to leave plenty to be desired. Some have suggested that Rusev could eventually leave the WWE if things don't change for the better, but we beg to differ.

Even if Rusev doesn't get a major push, he will never make nearly as much money outside of the WWE as he is right now - thanks to his Rusev Day merchandise. That's not to mention that his departure would create problems for his wife Lana who currently stars on Total Divas. As long as the paychecks continue being deposited, Rusev is more than happy to just profit off the company.

4 Set To Leave: Daniel Bryan

Some may say that Daniel Bryan already has one foot out of the door since he has been clear regarding his intentions to wrestle again. Since being forced to retire from the ring, Bryan has clashed with the WWE as they continue declining to clear him. And while Bryan claims to have been cleared by all doctors outside of the WWE, the company has remained stubborn regarding this matter.

Bryan's contract expires in a few months and he claims that he intends to leave to the independent circuit, if he isn't cleared by the WWE.

As of now, that seems likely to become reality since the company won't change its position. Bryan believes that he still has plenty to offer in the ring, so it's fair that he wants to enjoy what he loves doing - as long as he has been truly cleared by the doctors as he claims.

3 Won't Leave: AJ Styles

In a few months, AJ Styles will be turning 41 years old - that may come across as shocking to some readers since most would think that he is younger. Unfortunately, AJ isn't young enough to have a long term future in the company but at least we got to see him in the WWE. There were times when it looked as if he would never work for them, yet he exceeded all expectations in his run.

As tempting as it may be for AJ to get back to his old schedule, he will be making the most out of his opportunities in WWE while he still can. If he has any plans to continue wrestling once his WWE stint is over, then you may see AJ back elsewhere. But he has had some great matches in the WWE and reigns as world champion - so things are going well for him to say the least.

2 Set To Leave: Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe showed the WWE what they were passing for years during his stint in NXT. Despite being one of the better wrestlers on the planet, Joe was overlooked by the WWE for so many years prior to being given a chance. But his transition to the main roster hasn't gone as well as fans had hoped, mainly due to recurring injuries. Every time Joe finds his momentum, he ends up getting hurt and missing extensive time.

At 39 years old, with injuries piling up, Joe may not be a long term investment for WWE, so we wouldn't be surprised if they pull the plug on his push.

Joe is surely loving the paychecks, but he might also be unable to handle the WWE schedule at the time. A move to a different promotion wouldn't be shocking to most although fans still hope to see him become a star in the WWE.

1 Won't Leave: Finn Balor

Finn Balor's reign on top didn't last too long but fans remain hopeful that he will make it back up. He has the support of Triple H - who admitted to being a fan of Balor - and that should be more than enough to be a top star. However, it's been reported that Vince McMahon doesn't believe that Balor is as over with the fans as he wishes for a top babyface. Fans began to speculate about Balor's future in the company with some making dream match up scenarios - but Balor isn't going anywhere.

He is 36 years old right now and wants to make as much money as possible while still able to work with the WWE. There will be a time when he goes back to NJPW - but Balor's WWE mission has yet to be completed. He only got to enjoy the perks of being champion for a short while, and would surely love a longer reign.
