Ever since Ronda Rousey shocked the sports, entertainment and sports-entertainment worlds by showing up at the Royal Rumble, people have been speculating as to when they would see the Rowdy one in WWE next. Well fans won't have to wait much longer as Kurt Angle announced that not only will Rousey join Raw, but she will also appear at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
Rousey will show up to sign her Raw contract at the Elimination Chamber and we all know how contract signings usually go in WWE. Perhaps she will be interrupted by Asuka in retaliation for The Empress of Tomorrow having her Royal Rumble victory celebration cut short.
Even if it's not Asuka, we should expect the seeds to be planted for her first feud, and subsequently, first match. That's highly expected to be at WrestleMania 34, but the good news for the WWE Universe is that this won't be a one-off match in the vein of Lawrence Taylor or Floyd Mayweather Jr. In an interview with ESPN after the Rumble, Rousey confirmed that she will be a full-time Superstar.
"This is my life now. First priority on my timeline for the next several years. This is not a smash-and-grab; this is not a publicity stunt," Rousey said. "When I first met with Triple H, I told him, 'There are other things I can do with my time that'll make way more money, but I won't enjoy nearly as much.'"
It's fitting that Rousey's first scheduled WWE appearance will come at the Elimination Chamber as it will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Rousey's last (we think) UFC fight was held in that very same venue at UFC 207. She lost that night to Amanda Nunes but perhaps she will seek to gain some measure of retribution if and when someone steps into the ring with her at the Elimination Chamber.
