Mistakes happen, even in the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. This week's episode of SmackDown featured a segment where Jinder Mahal expressed his disappointment in AJ Styles losing to Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. The Modern Day Maharaja then announced that he would be invoking his rematch clause for the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event on Dec. 17, 2017.
In the promo, Styles also called out Mahal and dared him to come to the ring and take the WWE Championship from him. Instead, the Singh brothers unsuccessfully attempted to jump the Phenomenal One themselves.
But the best part of that whole segment? Styles apparently had a powerful "massage" for Mahal.
For you fans who didn't watch the show and got confused in reading that headline, allow us to clear up the air: There was no physical activity between Styles and Mahal on SmackDown. The Modern Day Maharaja gets special treatment from the Singh brothers, but Styles did not offer nor give him a massage. In fact, there's no evidence to suggest he ever has.
The rivalry between these two stars seems to be far from over. It started back in September when Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Mahal and Baron Corbin in a tag team match. With Mahal's rematch still a month away, there's plenty of time for Styles to make peace and offer the Modern Day Maharaja "a powerful massage."
Though Mahal's official "rematch" takes place at Clash of Champions, he will get another shot against Styles for the WWE title at Starrcade this Saturday inside a Steel Cage. So unfortunately for the critics of Mahal and his lengthy push from the creative team, he's not done taking up SmackDown's prime segments and matches just yet.
So we'll see if Mahal can regain his WWE Championship, or if Styles will give him yet another powerful message and retain the belt.
