Known to many as one of the best professional wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots, AEW wrestler Kenny Omega will go down in the history books as one of the greatest wrestlers to ever live, putting on a number of some of the most acclaimed matches to ever come out of New Japan, DDT, and AEW. While he is known as the Best Bout Machine by most for his singles wrestling, Omega has spent time in a number of different tag teams during his prestigious career.

Whether it be in AEW where he would see great success alongside friend-turned-rival, Hangman Adam Page, or changing the world alongside Kota Ibushi in promotions like DDT and New Japan, Omega has a past with tag team wrestling and has featured in a few prominent tag teams during his career.

5 Danny Duggan

A team that only featured in the Canadian Wrestling Elite's promotion during 2010, Kenny Omega would find himself reigning as CWE Tag Team Champions during his time in the promotion, around the same time as he began breaking out in companies like DDT, NJPW, and PWG. The future AEW World Champion's teammate would be Danny Duggan, a man who still features across a number of different Canadian independent promotions today.

Most notably during their time together, the duo would defeat Michael Elgin and Jimmy Jacobs in a tag-team tournament that would see them win, facing off against the CWE Tag Team Champions, Shawn and Ariya Daivari, winning the belts in the process.

4 Chris Stevens

Making their tag team debut in the year 2000, 22 years ago, Kenny Omega and Chris Stevens, known as Experience, would see their time spent together primarily in the Premier Championship Wrestling promotion in Canada. Shockingly, the duo have never formally broken up, having wrestled together across the past two decades inconsistently, but still doing so, even as recently as March of 2019 for a special anniversary show.

While this tag team is not one that may be known to many at all, it is still a strong part of Kenny Omega's history in professional wrestling, and is notably a team that he has still continued to wrestle in during his time across the world in Japan and America, always finding a time to return to PCW to re-team with his Experience teammate.

3 Chuck Taylor

For AEW fans, Chuck Taylor is best known for his work alongside Trent Beretta, as part of the Best Friends tag-team/faction. Those who may not be aware of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), may not know of the tag-team that was the Men Of Low Moral Fiber, which saw the Kentucky Gentleman teaming with the future Best Bout Machine during 2009. In AEW, both Chuck and Kenny have found varying degrees of success, with Omega being a main event star and former AEW World Champion and Taylor being in one of the most popular tag-teams in the company in the Best Friends.

While the team would only feature during 2009 in a string of four matches, they would stand out in two of the said four, with a pair of matches against The Young Bucks. This obviously would come before the Bucks and Omega would later form The Elite in New Japan which would then lead to the creation of All Elite Wrestling, but in that same vein, it is of interest to look back and see all four men tagging against each other. Since 2009, Omega and Taylor would reunite once during 2014 to team with Zack Sabre Jr. against The Young Bucks and Kevin Steen before the latter would make his move to WWE NXT.

2 Hangman Page

Hangman Page and Kenny Omega as Tag Team Champions

In just the first 3 years of the company's existence, AEW hit a home run with a two-year-long running story featuring Kenny Omega and Hangman Page, that saw the two men first team-up with one another as a part of The Elite, eventually winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship from SCU during the Jericho Cruise, before facing off against the Young Bucks at the 2020 AEW Revolution PPV, in a match that many consider to be one of the best tag-team matches of all time. The two would eventually break up, with Omega turning his back on Page before then turning heel and winning the AEW World Championship, with Hangman dethroning him a year later.

As a team, Hangman Page and Kenny Omega originally felt like a randomly tossed-together duo for two guys that needed direction in early 2020, though that quickly changed when fans saw how great they worked together as a unit, and as storyline elements became more clear through Hangman's less-than-stellar relationship with Omega and the Bucks in story. The two would hold the belts for much of 2020, and would put on stellar matches even during the No Crowd Era for AEW, and would eventually become even better rivals, with a thrilling feud in 2021 that saw a grand coronation for Hangman at 2021's Full Gear PPV, where he would become the new face of the company.

1 Kota Ibushi

When it comes down to it, there is no greater pairing for Kenny Omega than alongside the Golden Star, Kota Ibushi. Known as the Golden lovers, the two men first tagged together in 2009, appearing in the DDT promotion in Japan, with Omega and Ibushi quickly becoming friends after Kenny debuted in the company during 2008. The two would find success in DDT, eventually appearing in New Japan's IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Division where they would have a notable against the team of Apollo 55. After departing DDT in 2014, Omega would become one of the fastest rising stars in New Japan, though he and Ibushi would split up, as Omega would spend time as a Junior in the heel faction Bullet Club, while Ibushi would be a babyface Heavyweight.

In the following years, Ibushi would breakout and become one of the fan-favorite stars in New Japan, and arguably one of the best wrestlers in the world, even appearing in WWE during the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016, while Omega would rise up the ranks of New Japan, taking over Bullet Club and ascending to superstardom. 2018 would see The Golden Lovers reunite in a major way with storylines involving Ibushi, Omega, Cody Rhodes, and the Young Bucks. The reunion would play out as a long-term story, with teases sprinkled throughout New Japan during their years apart, paying off as they would re-team with one another against The Young Bucks during a special American show for New Japan.

The tandem of Omega and Ibushi are also notable for their subtle LGBTQ+ representation, as while the two men would never partake in love angles with one another, there was enough said in their interactions during matches and promos, that the presentation of the Golden Lovers came off as extremely progressive for an industry that is often leaning in towards offensive stereotypes. As The Forbidden Door is now firmly open, it is only a matter of time before Ibushi and Omega cross paths again, either as allies or enemies, though it remains to be seen if it will be in AEW or New Japan.
