The Money in the Bank pay-per-view isn't just about the Money in the Bank ladder match. There have been a plethora of outstanding World Title matches on the card alongside some fantastic grudge matches. Not every Money in the Bank pay-per-view has been great, but there's always been at least one match that was head and shoulders above the rest.

12 2010: Money In The Bank Ladder Match - WWE Title Contract

Wrestling fans were treated to a hat-trick of Money in the Bank ladder matches in 2010. However, the best match at the inaugural Money in the Bank event was the Money in the Bank ladder match with the winner earning the WWE Championship contract.

The lineup had a mixture of experience with Chris Jericho, Edge, Randy Orton, and Mark Henry in action. The Miz, Evan Bourne, John Morrison, and Ted DiBiase were also involved in proceedings. The contest was great, and Orton looked to be a safe bet to clinch the Money in the Bank briefcase but Miz pushed him off the ladder, and he stunned the crowd by retrieving the briefcase.

11 2011: John Cena Vs. CM Punk

There was only going to be one result that the fans in the Allstate Arena were going to accept, and that was CM Punk defeating John Cena for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank 2011. The Straight Edge Savior received an outstanding reception from his hometown fans in Chicago.

This WWE Championship match is one of the greatest of all time. Both men were at their best, and the storytelling was executed to perfection. A GTS from Punk was enough to put Cena away in an instant classic, and Punk escaped through the crowd with his newly won WWE Championship.

10 2012: CM Punk Vs. Daniel Bryan

There are no surprises that CM Punk and Daniel Bryan put on a clinic at Money in the Bank 2012. Punk's WWE Championship was up for grabs, and AJ Lee was the special guest referee in a No Disqualification match that almost went 30 minutes.

Technical wrestling was of the highest order in this match, and fans were heavily invested. Bryan came close to ending Punk's WWE Championship reign by applying the Yes Lock with a kendo stick. Nonetheless, Punk wormed his way out of it, and he managed to retain his WWE Title in an impressive contest.

9 2013: SmackDown Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The Money in the Bank ladder match for a future World Heavyweight Championship match in 2013 was superb. Surprisingly, all seven parties involved were heels. Antonio Cesaro, Jack Swagger, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Fandango, Damien Sandow, and Dean Ambrose all would have fancied their chances at glory.

Ambrose had some backup with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins' interferences. However, The Usos halted Rollins and Reigns' involvement. Cody was close to retrieving the briefcase but Sandow pushed him off the ladder, and he became Mr. Money in the Bank.

8 2014: Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose's rivalry was heating up in 2014, and the Money in the Bank ladder match was built around them. Rob Van Dam, Jack Swagger, and Dolph Ziggler were former winners in their own right, and they were looking to win it again. Kofi Kingston was a Money in the Bank specialist, and he completed the lineup.

This Money in the Bank ladder match was fantastic, and the wrestlers put their bodies on the line. Ambrose was close to winning the Money in the Bank ladder match, but Kane intercepted and stopped him. The Architect took advantage and became Mr. Money in the Bank.

7 2015: John Cena Vs. Kevin Owens

Money in the Bank 2015 featured a high-quality match between John Cena and Kevin Owens. This was a non-title match with Cena's United States Championship not at stake. Their chemistry together was exceptional, and fans were heavily invested in this hotly anticipated rematch.

"This is Awesome" reverberated around the arena, and there were several false finishes throughout the match. KO refused to stay down for large portions of the bout, but the third AA from Cena was enough to get over the line in a hard-fought battle.

6 2016: AJ Styles Vs. John Cena

John Cena seems to have instant classics at Money in the Bank events and 2016 was no different. Big Match John showed why he earned that moniker as he went toe-to-toe with AJ Styles. This was their first meeting which seemed unthinkable a few years prior.

The Phenomenal One settled into his first year of WWE, and he mixed it up with the very best in the business. This match went back and forth, but The Club was the difference-maker as they laid out Cena, which allowed Styles to pick up a huge victory over Cena.

5 2017: Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match

AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura closed out Money in the Bank 2017 in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match. There was a mixture of usual suspects, but this was a wide-open field where anyone could prevail.

This wasn't the best of Money in the Bank shows, but this Money in the Bank ladder match was one of the positive things about the event. Corbin ended up triumphant which fans were not happy with.

4 2018: Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The third women's Money in the Bank ladder match involved Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Naomi, Natalya, Ember Moon, and Lana. That's a jam-packed lineup, and it was a decent match.

Lynch and Charlotte were the favorites to emerge victorious but that failed to materialize. Becky was closing in on a victory, but she was pushed off the ladder by Bliss. The Goddess prevailed, and she made history as the first woman to successfully cash in their Money in the Bank briefcase on the same night they won it. She beat Nia Jax to reclaim the Raw Women's Championship later on in the night.

3 2019: Seth Rollins Vs. AJ Styles

Fans were served up a treat when Seth Rollins and AJ Styles collided over the Architect's Universal Championship at Money in the Bank 2019. They hit a home run in unquestionably the best match on the card.

Rollins and Styles had a war of attrition, and the Phenomenal One had chances to capture the Universal Championship. However, Rollins stood firm as he moved out of the way when Styles was going for the Phenomenal Forearm, and he retained the gold with a Stomp.

2 2020: Drew McIntyre Vs. Seth Rollins

The COVID-19 pandemic forced WWE to do their shows behind closed doors for over a year from March 2020. At Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre defended the WWE Championship against Seth Rollins. McIntyre and Rollins deserved to have a crowd witness this barnburner of a match.

Rollins connected with the Stomp, and he thought that a third WWE Championship reign would be on his mantelpiece. McIntyre had other ideas by kicking out, and he retained the WWE Championship after he put Rollins out of his misery with the Claymore Kick.

1 2021: Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The men's Money in the Bank ladder match was structured just right with the length of time given in proceedings. Big E, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, John Morrison, Kevin Owens, Riddle, King Nakamura, and Ricochet engaged in battle, and they stole the show in one of the best Money in the Bank ladder matches in history.

As expected, there were some brutal spots. Rollins was close to attaining the briefcase, but Big E executed the Big Ending off the ladder. He then scaled the ladder, and he became Mr. Money in the Bank.
