During the latter half of the 90s, Disco Inferno, AKA Glenn Gilbertti, would emerge as one of the more novel mid-card wrestlers for the company. With his John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever gimmick, Disco wasn't exactly the most original character in WCW, but an entertaining one nonetheless.

Since walking away from a career as a full-time wrestler, Disco has been able to keep himself somewhat relevant, often through expressing controversial viewpoints of the business. Outspoken and brutally honest, the real-life Glenn Gilbertti has ruffled many feathers over the years. Here are 10 things WCW fans should know about Disco Inferno.

10 Introduced Chris Jericho To His Wife

During an after party at a Japanese restaurant, Chris Jericho would spot his friend and co-worker, Disco Inferno, talking to a young blonde woman. In Jericho's own words, he locked eyes with the young lady, and was "completely enchanted." That young woman would turn out to be Jessica Lockhart, and would go on to become Mrs. Chris Jericho.

Jericho recalls asking Disco who the woman was, and was relieved to find out that the pair were not dating. So, among many other things, you can count matchmaker among Disco Inferno's distinctions.

9 Co-Host Of "Keeping It 100" Podcast With Konnan

Konnan AEW

As a spin-off of Chris Jericho's podcast, Konnan began hosting his own show and brought on his old friend, Disco Inferno as his co-host. Their podcast can be a free-for-all, as Disco is notorious for talking over all the other guests and hosts, including Konnan.

The podcast is what Disco is most well-known for these days, and he has espoused some less than popular opinions on modern wrestling, during the show. At times entertaining and funny, at other times, chaotic and disorganized, Keeping It 100 has certainly established its presence in the world of wrestling podcasts. You can check out the show on all major streaming platforms.

8 Lives In Las Vegas

Disco Inferno Modern Day

Like many who make a living in show business, Disco Inferno resides in Sin City, also known as Las Vegas. Vegas is ideal for a number of reasons, as it's more affordable than California, with equally pleasant weather. Disco likes to gamble, especially when it comes to sports betting, so Las Vegas houses everything he prefers.

Other wrestlers, such as Rob Van Dam, reside in Las Vegas as well. There's also another reason that Glenn maintains his residence in Vegas, but we will touch on that later.

7 Co-Owns A Gentleman's Club

Las Vegas is known for many things, and its adult oriented nightlife is chief among them. Sensing opportunity, Disco would get involved with a Gentleman's Club, and is now a co-owner of Sapphire's. He is always quick to remind people that overseeing the club is a full-time job for him.

Thanks to Disco's business acumen, Sapphire's has become one of the premiere clubs in all of Vegas. You can safely say, that Disco Inferno is something of a modern-day renaissance man.

6 Once Had An Altercation With Arn Anderson

Arn And Disco

Physical confrontations between wrestlers, outside the ring, are not exactly uncommon. In the case of Disco Inferno and Arn Anderson, their altercation was quickly resolved.

The incident took place on a bus, and Arn had found that Disco was behaving rather obnoxiously. Arn reprimanded Disco with a single slap across the face. While it's not recommended to ever use physicality to rectify a situation, to Disco's credit, he has since admitted that he was in the wrong in the situation with Arn.

5 Has No Children

Whether it be of personal choice or for medical reasons, Disco Inferno has not fathered any children to date. In fact, there are no records of him having ever married. It could just be that he enjoys the bachelor life, or is simply too busy to start a family, but Disco has yet to take the plunge, so to speak.

Glenn Gilbertti has always been somewhat vague when it comes to his personal life, so it could be that he doesn't want to share certain aspects of his life with the public. There's no telling what the future holds, but for now it seems as though Disco is just fine, flying solo.

4 Is Close With Vince Russo

Vince Russo In His Studio

When Vince Russo came to work for WCW in 1999, he would become good friends with Disco Inferno. It's not difficult to conceive, as both Russo and Gilbertti are native New Yorkers, and of Italian descent. The two would initially work on a podcast together, and still collaborate to this day.

Some fans have been critical of Disco's relationship with Vince Russo, and other wrestlers as well. Nevertheless, Russo and Disco have maintained a friendship for several years, which isn't exactly common in the wrestling business.

3 Wrestled And Lost To Scarlett Bourdeaux In Her First Official Impact Match

Scarlett In The Ring

As aforementioned, Disco has been known to share some controversial opinions on Twitter and other platforms. His take on women's wrestling, would at one point draw the ire of emerging female talent, Scarlett Bordeaux, who had yet to wrestle her first match at the time. She would ultimately choose Disco Inferno as her first opponent, and would actually defeat him.

The match actually did serve to enhance Scarlett's profile in the business, and is somewhat memorable for its time. You can say a lot of things about Glenn Gilbertti, but you must admit that he is willing to do business, if the situation is right.

2 Was Once Pitched For WWE Creative Team

WWE Creative Board Meeting

After WCW had folded in 2002, WWE had discussions with Vince Russo about returning to the company in a creative capacity. Russo pitched bringing in Disco Inferno as part of his team, if he were to return.

When Vince McMahon learned of Russo's idea to bring in Disco, he referenced some previous ideas that Glenn had pitched while booking for WCW. Among Disco's questionable pitches, was a bizarre Martian angle, that would see an extraterrestrial storyline play out. Needless to say, WWE ended up passing on bringing either Russo or Disco in at that time.

1 Was Fired From WCW For Refusing To Lose To Jacqueline

Jacqueline Vs Disco Inferno

This was a situation that essentially boils down to whom you believe. According to Disco Inferno, he was initially fired from WCW in 1997, for refusing to lose to female star Jacqueline, at Halloween Havoc. Disco would explain that he had only a few months left on his contract at the time, and the company had no creative plans for him.

He felt that losing to Jacqueline would be unrealistic and outright refused to do so. For his part, Eric Bischoff would corroborate at least part of Disco's story, confirming that he did indeed fire him over the Jacqueline incident.
