As mentioned earlier, Charlotte Flair had a late start to her pro wrestling career, as she was around 26 years old when she signed a developmental contract with WWE back in 2012.

Despite growing up in a household where there was wrestling almost every day, Charlotte Flair had to learn the craft on her own terms as she didn't receive any proper insights from her father. Ric Flair reportedly told her that wrestling is something she had to learn on her own. He also didn't give her any pointers on the insider terms in the business, and she had to learn them herself as she started her training.

8 The Bond With Her Brother Reid

Charlotte Flair shared a very close and special bond with her deceased brother Reid. Wrestling fans would know that her brother Reid passed away in 2013 due to an accidental overdose.

His death really took a toll on Charlotte Flair as she revealed that she had a very close bond with Reid, and stated that it was him who pushed her to pursue a career in pro wrestling and said that she's now living his dream. Wrestling fans are aware of the fact that The Nature Boy Ric Flair has had five known marriages so far, with all of them ending in separation. Charlotte Flair is born to Ric Flair and his second wife Elizabeth Harrell, whom he married in 1983 and divorced in 2006.

Reid Flair was her own brother while David Flair is her half-brother born to Ric Flair and his first wife Leslie Goodman. She also has an elder half-sister named Megan, who went on to marry wrestling podcaster, Conrad Thomson.

Despite being in a wrestling family, Charlotte Flair's initial career choice was not pro wrestling, as she had an interest in pursuing a career as a personal trainer. Ric Flair might not have trained her in wrestling, but he was the reason behind Charlotte getting into sports. She stated that she wasn't mature enough to understand his lengthy absences during her childhood, but she started respecting what he did for them only after becoming a pro wrestler herself.

3 Struggles With Domestic Abuse

Charlotte Flair mentioned her struggles with domestic violence abuse during her first marriage in Second Nature, a joint biography of both her and her father's life.

She was married to Riki Johnson between May 2010 and February 2013, and it claimed that she had to leave Johnson after enduring domestic assaults on multiple occasions. The statement led to Johnson filing a lawsuit against Charlotte and Ric Flair, the publisher of the book, and WWE for the defamatory statements made against him in the book. She then was married to English wrestler Thomas Latimer, who's known as Bram, between 2013 and October 2015 before separating from him as well.

2 Her Current Relationship Status

Charlotte Flair started dating Mexican wrestler Manuel Andrade Oropeza, who is currently working as Andrade El Idolo for All Elite Wrestling. They were both a part of the WWE roster when they first started dating in February 2019.

Their relationship continued even after Andrade left WWE for All Elite Wrestling in 2021. After nearly going through a reported break-up phase, Flair and Andrade finally got married on May 27, 2022, in Mexico. Flair is currently out of action due to injury, and it gave her the right opportunity to spend more time with her new husband before she has to return to in-ring competition for WWE.

1 She Almost Did Jail Time For Assaulting A Cop

While still married to her first husband back in 2008, Charlotte Flair found herself in some unwanted trouble after an altercation with her father, which escalated when she reportedly assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest.

She got sentenced to 45-day prison time, but since it was her first offense, the judge was lenient towards her and reduced her sentence to supervised probation and a $200 fine. She reportedly assaulted Ric Flair during that altercation, but the Nature Boy refused to file charges against his own daughter.
