Finn Balor is the new United States Champion in WWE. After a hard-fought battle against Damian Priest, he walks away from Monday Night Raw the new champion, but he took a beating for his troubles.

A match that was promoted from last week when Balor answered the challenge by Priest for anyone who considers themselves world champion material to step up, Balor noted that it sounded like Priest was talking to him and that he should be careful what he wished for. WWE featured this match as one of the highlights of Monday's show and they didn't disappoint considering the title changed hands. Balor would win with a Coup de grâce and celebrate with the fans, only to be told by Priest after the match the fans were the reason Balor won and that they carried him to victory.

Priest vowed to win the championship back, and he would do it despite the fans who were never there for him. Saying he had a successful run as the titleholder, Priest couldn't get the support, respect or admiration from the WWE Universe when they should have been there for him and they no longer mean anything to him. "Sa basically, what I'm saying is, I'm going to win that back, and all that love, that admiration, that motivation, ain't going to mean a damn thing."

When Balor stepped to Priest, the former champion acted as though he was going to walk away, only to turn around and blast an unsuspecting Balor. Priest then threw Balor out of the ring and delivered a powerbomb onto the announce table.

Balor vs. Priest At WrestleMania?

It's not clear if WWE is setting these two up for a rematch at the biggest show of the year, but with the card being set and Priest vowing to get his rematch, this feud feels like it's headed towards the biggest stage the company has to offer.
