Hernandez Found Guilty. Gets Life Sentence

A few years ago Aaron Hernandez was, along with Rob Gronkowski, part of the best tight end duo in football and today he has been found guilty of first degree murder for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd in 2013.

The jury had deliberated for 36 hours over 7 days before reaching the unanimous verdict. They decided that Hernandez acted with extreme atrocity or cruelty - which raised the murder to a first degree conviction. A conviction that carries with it an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Formal sentencing took place about half an hour after the jury's verdict was read. It is being reported that Hernandez, as in the verdict video above, showed no emotion as the sentence was handed down. After that he was led out of the courtroom on his way to prison.
