Splitsville: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Aaron Rodgers And Olivia Munn's Relationship (And 5 About Their Breakup)

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has the ability to give the Green and Gold faithful an early Christmas present with a late season return. Rodgers suffered his second broken collarbone in October 2017 after falling hard on his shoulder following an outside the pocket hit by Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr.

As a result, Rodgers' doctors used 13 screws to repair the star quarterback's collarbone. On a segment with television host Conan O'Brien, Rodgers told O'Brien: "I looked over at him as I walked off the field...Cameras caught me saying something to him but what they missed was him [giving me the] finger [and the] 'suck it' sign." While there's no concrete visual evidence that Barr actually gave Rodgers the finger, we believe that Rodgers kind of exaggerated Barr's hit. But then again, Rodgers was hurt fairly bad, so his words may be the truth that everyone wants to hear.

Either way, Rodgers isn't a perfect person. He makes mistakes here and there, just like the rest of us. He dated actress and model Olivia Munn from 2014 to 2017. In case you didn't know, Munn isn't a gold digger, but instead, a star of her own. She co-hosted the live TV program Attack of the Show! from 2006 to 2010, served as a correspondent for The Daily Show from 2010 to 2011, starred as Sloan on the TV series The Newsroom from 2012 to 2014, and appeared in various movies such as X-Men Apocalypse and The Lego Ninjago Movie.

Here are 10 things you probably didn't know about Rodgers and Munn's relationship and five about their breakup.

15 Relationship: Munn Didn't Know What Rodgers Did For A Living

via totalprosports.com

When Olivia Munn met Aaron Rodgers for the first time, she had no idea who he was.

"I said, 'So what do you do?' And he said, 'Oh I play football.'" Munn told For The Win of USA TODAY Sports. "'Cool. What college?' And he’s like, 'Oh, no. I play professional.' And I was like, 'Cool, what position?' 'Quarterback.' 'Cool.' Munn described her first conversation with Rodgers, saying that it was her not knowing that he was a former Super Bowl MVP.

Munn continued: "All I saw was that he was like really attractive. I didn’t really care what he did. I was like you are such a big man!"

After the couple's awkward encounter, Munn started spending more time in Green Bay and even found a local meat market. She didn't mind the culture and lifestyle of Green Bay and said that the locals were very nice people.

14 Relationship: The Couple Sparked Engagement Rumors Before Their Breakup

via sportingnews.com

Just a few months before their sudden split, many people were wondering if wedding bells were going to ring for Rodgers and Munn. Munn sparked engagement rumors when she was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand's ring finger while driving a car following a party in Beverly Hills, Calif. That ring looked like a ruby surrounded by a halo of diamonds on a gold band.

This wasn't the first time that engagement rumors between the couple swirled around. Remember when Munn openly convinced her own mother that the rumors weren't true? It was funny and upfront.

But no, the couple was never engaged, which might've been a reason why Munn reportedly had an amicable breakup with Rodgers. Munn is at the age where most women start thinking about marriage and starting a family anyway. We don't blame her for allegedly making that a reason why her relationship went south.

13 Breakup: Rodgers' Split From Munn Didn't End Family Issues

via complex.com

If you also follow the reality dating show The Bachelorette, you know that the Rodgers family has been having issues for quite a while now. Aaron's younger brother, Jordan, revealed to his girlfriend (now fiancee) JoJo Fletcher during a hometown date in his native Chico, Calif. that he and his family have been estranged from their older brother / middle child. Of course, JoJo was shocked by Jordan's unexpected airing of his family's drama in a crucial decision-making period, but she ultimately chose Jordan over former competitive swimmer Robby Hayes in the finale of Season 12.

Rodgers later ended his three year relationship with Munn, but his family issues didn't stop there. He reportedly never tried to make amends to his estranged family, which is a horrible thing because Munn was allegedly the center of the Rodgers' family feud.

"Aaron still hasn’t been in contact with his family,” a source told the New York Post. "His mom, Darla, has reached out to him multiple times in the last few months, but hasn’t heard back from him."

12 Relationship: Munn Also Has Sports Intellect

via hbo.bg

You probably knew that Munn was an actress and model, but did you know that she has worked as a sports reporter? Most likely not.

Munn landed internships with Fox Sports Networks and KJRH-TV (Tulsa, Okla) and later became a sideline reporter for college football and women's basketball. She went on to tell G4TV that she disliked the sports journalism experience, explaining: "I was trying to be something I wasn't, and that made me really uncomfortable on live TV."

So this might have explained why Munn thought Rodgers played college football during their first meeting. But one thing is for sure, she possesses sports intellect, especially when it comes to the NCAA. It's too bad that she doesn't cover sports anymore, but she's still a good catch at pretty much anything she wanted to do in life.

11 Relationship: Munn Shared Too Much Information

via bravotv.com

It appears that the game trumps everything else whenever Rodgers steps out at Lambeau Field for Packers game day. Rodgers' then-girlfriend, Olivia, once appeared on Thursday night's edition of "Watch What Happens Live" with host Andy Cohen and shared some personal information about the couple's love life.

Munn obviously didn't reveal anything too juicy, but Cohen asked her a blunt question, "Do you have sex on game days?" and Munn gave him an honest answer.

"No, we don’t," Munn said. "Not on game day. There’s not a rule, but it just doesn’t happen because there are other things to focus on."

Munn later added that she does try to get it on as much as she can.

At least Munn was able to answer Cohen's hard-hitting questions with a fairly straight face. She can do a lot of things, including the telling of secrets that most people wouldn't want to talk about out loud.

10 Breakup: Munn Expertly Trolled Packers Fans

Football is right around the corner. I drafted Olivia. @oliviamunn #SKOL #MN4Life pic.twitter.com/8zO1l8tUCc

— Nick Swardson (@NickSwardson) August 23, 2017

In August 2017, Munn posed for a picture with comedian and actor Nick Swanson on the set of a movie they were filming in Canada. But this wasn't just any picture. Swanson wore lots of purple. Minnesota Vikings purple. And, Munn, was just standing there with a sultry finger to lips look. So both Swanson and Munn deserved spots in the Twitter Trolling Hall of Fame for this amusing picture.

When Munn was dating Rodgers, she often sported Packer gear at Lambeau Field. She's now a free agent when it comes to pro football, but this picture is still hilarious to a great degree. Also, the Vikings joined the conversation and sent the pair a tweet.

Munn didn't hang out with a Vikings fan for nothing. She likely knew that her relationship with Rodgers was going to end sometime.

9 Relationship: Rodgers Wasn't Munn's First Athlete Boyfriend

via si.com

Before Munn met Rodgers, she dated another athlete...and no, he wasn't a different pro football player. She briefly dated NHL center Brad Richards from November 2011 to January 2012.

The hockey couple had a short stint with Munn deciding to end things with Richards. A source told Us Weekly: "She ended it with him. She had to. It's not really complicated. She just realized she liked him as a friend and nothing more."

When the couple were dating, Munn was often referred to as Richards' good luck charm, and the New York Rangers went on a six-game win streak after the couple first announced their relationship. The Rangers had a mixed bag of regular seasons and postseasons following the couple's split, but it's better to end things sooner than later, right?

8 Relationship: Munn Took Shots At Journalists Who Slammed Her Romance

via rollingstone.com

Don't mess with Munn. Just don't. Seriously, don't.

Munn was once a journalist herself, so she has the rather natural ability to spot fake news and call out those who basically make mountains out of molehills.

Shortly after discovering that she was the topic of a heated debate among journalists—if she was a jinx to Rodgers' and his Packers, Munn took to Twitter to write a lengthy letter in a tweet, captioning it: "Dear, @WashingtonPost @FoxSports and the other news outlets that followed suit. The internet, and especially.."

Munn followed up with another tweet to ESPN NFL Nation Packers writer Rob Demovsky, telling him: "Playing it fast & loose w/the journalism @RobDemovsky. Your professional skills are lacking... you must be having personal problems at home."

Munn couldn't have affected Rodgers' play because she started dating him when he won the NFL MVP award. Like, did Gisele Bundchen ruin Tom Brady's career? Nope.

7 Breakup: Rodgers Blamed The Price Of Fame For Placing Strain On His Relation

via usmagazine.com

Sometime after his breakup from Munn, Rodgers opened up about his high-profile relationship with the journalist-turned-actress. Also, he blamed the price of fame for placing increased strain on his relationship.

Rodgers told ESPN the Magazine: "When you are living out a relationship in the public eye, it’s definitely...it’s difficult...It has some extra constraints because you have other opinions abut your relationship, how it affects your work and, you know, just some inappropriate connections."

In addition, a source told Us Weekly that complicated family dynamics likely contributed to the couple's split. An insider said: "Olivia doesn’t get along with his family...They think she’s controlling."

Rodgers can blame the price of fame, but like we mentioned in the previous slide, have Brady and Bundchen had any football related issues? No...

6 Relationship: The Couple Abided By The 20/80 Rule

via youtube.com

Munn and Rodgers are two of the most fit people in the world, but it's not just because they dedicate several hours of exercise per day. The former couple abided by what they call the "20/80 rule" where they would make sure that 80 percent of what they eat is healthy and pig out on the remaining 20 percent.

Rodgers continues to indulge in his usual In-N-Out order of an animal-style double-double and cakes and pastries from Claire's Bakery And Cafe, while Munn sometimes has cravings for onion rings or Kraft Mac & Cheese straight out of the saucepan.

This is a good way where you can live a well-rounded lifestyle without having to sacrifice the sweets or fatty foods in your life. You might want to take a note on their method of losing weight because they're certainly doing a good job to drop a couple of extra pounds where it matters the most.

5 Relationship: Both Are Star Wars Fans

Whether or not you think Munn solidifies the so-called definition of a "real" geek girl, she's arguably one of the cutest geek girls in the world. So it makes sense that Rodgers would also become a fan of the popular Star Wars franchise. The force seemed to be with the couple as they were excited about the upcoming release of a new film.

In this picture, the couple donned Star Wars themed costumes...Munn kept it simple with a black t-shirt with the Star Wars logo across the front, while Rodgers went all out with a complete Jedi-inspired outfit. Munn captioned the Instagram pic: "Who's the bigger #StarWars fan...The one who bought this awesome shirt at @oldnavy or the one who already owned his own Obi-Wan Kenobi robe?"

Munn is a self-proclaimed nerd, but this wasn't the first time that she showed off her nerdy side alongside her beau on social media. They look cute while being aloof "nerds" though.

4 Breakup: Both Parties' Careers Impacted The Relationship

via radaronline.com

If you were wondering about which party did the most damage to the other, keep in mind that Munn wasn't the only one who was accused of ruining Rodgers' career. Rodgers also was said to have had a negative impact on Munn's career.

In an interview with Collider, Munn admitted that she was only able to squeeze in a cameo in the upcoming "Ocean's Eight" film due to her romance with Rodgers. Munn said: "During that time, I was in a relationship where I didn't work...He played football, so during the season, for three years, I'd have to go do press, but I wouldn't work. I just wanted to be there to be supportive. But then, this came up. It worked out that it was on a day off, so I flew out and did it."

Reports have also surfaced that Rodgers broke up with Munn due to her controlling ways. Rodgers reportedly made drastic changes in his life after the breakup.

3 Relationship: The Couple Posted A Lot Of Dubsmash Videos

via ew.com

When Rodgers and Munn were together, they posted a lot of videos on a video messaging application. The couple showed off their unconventional skills ranging from sword fighting skills to lip sync skills. In 2015, Munn posted a whopping six Dubsmash videos over the course of just one Saturday.

Here's a throwback video of Rodgers and Munn lip syncing to pop singers Mariah Carey and Sarah McLachlan and recreated iconic scenes from the feature films Training Day and The Princess Bride:

A post shared by Olivia Munn (@oliviamunn) on

Rodgers and Munn were arguably one of the biggest examples of relationship goals among those who partake in football Twitter. Sadly, they're no longer together, but you can still achieve bae goals by posting similar videos on DubSmash or whatever social media platform that you want to upload them. It's going to be sweet even if you're not a football player who found a pretty actress and model for yourself.

2 Relationship: The Couple's Dogs Were Rescue Dogs

via youtube.com

The couple's dogs, Chance and Frankie, weren't just two super cute dogs. They were rescue dogs that Munn scooped up at the Cause for Paws and Love Leo Rescue charities, respectively. Munn reportedly found Frankie, a Jack Russell terrier mix, as a result of an attempt to find a brother for Chance, a purebred Cavalier King Charles.

The two puppies act like regular pups for the most part. Chance seemingly loves to give love, so Munn took him to training sessions to become a therapy dog and give love to those who need it the most. Frankie likes to bury bones and fake dig the couches and rugs.

In case if you were wondering, Munn kept the pups after the breakup and continues to update their Instagram accounts: chancerodgers12 and frankierodgers12. It's a little awkward, but someone has to keep the pups...just like they would with kids, right?

1 Breakup: Rodgers Constantly Dodged Gay Rumors, Which Might've Confused Munn

via youtube.com

For as long as we can remember, Rodgers has always been dodging rumors that he was gay, but the constant denial took a turn this summer when his personal assistant and former roommate, Kevin Lanflisi, brought up that the pair had a falling out after Rodgers backed out of an agreement to join a group of NFL players preparing to come out as gay or bisexual.

TerezOwens.com released a statement on Lanflisi's alleged relationship with Rodgers: "Hello, by now I am sure you heard that NFL star Aaron Rodgers denied he is gay. However, Rodgers is lying, he is indeed gay, and is still very angry he got dumped by ex boyfriend Kevin Lanflisi. In fact, recently on ESPN radio, Rodgers told host Jason Wilde that he has a “seat filler” when attending awards shows. the “seat filler” comment was offensive and rude because Aaron made it seem like Kevin meant nothing to him."

On February 25th 2014, Lanflisi retweeted a cryptic tweet saying Rodgers was ungrateful since he helped him. These two definitely seem to have unfinished business, which might've confused Munn, who's a little more traditional in the relationship department.
