Top 15 Things Johnny Manziel Would Love You To Forget

Ever since his college days at Texas A&M, Johnny Manziel has been a living media magnet. Everywhere he goes, everything he says and does, whatever he eats for breakfast, whoever he sleeps with, is posted on social media for all to see. I mean, literally everything. Manziel was more popular than three quarters of the NFL before he had his name called on draft day.

Ironically enough, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns plummeting franchise (and he asked for it, but we'll get to that later on). This gave the Browns far more media attention than normal, but it was rarely ever positive. Manziel has put far more effort into partying and goofing off than he has to bettering his NFL career. We saw that firsthand in his miserable first start in week 15 of 2014 (again, more on that later).

His antics have gone so far that the Browns want nothing to do with him and it's hard to believe any NFL team will take a shot on him if his charades continue. So far in his NFL career, he has proved to be nothing more than a distraction. His play is erratic (and that's putting it nicely) and he always seems to say the wrong things to the media and his coaches.

There are so many things he has done that he would love for people to forget (in such a short period of time). It's hard to knock it down to 15, but I tried. I'm sure many of you remember these boneheaded things that Manziel has become known for.

Read on, and enjoy the stupidity.

15 Getting Kicked Out of a Frat Party in College

Hey, we all know what athletes do in college. Most athletes spend the nights drinking and partying. It's no secret.

Johnny Manziel was right in that mold. Unlike most athletes, however, Johnny had a hard time keeping it private.

On one occasion where his nightlife was on full display, Manziel was spotted getting kicked out of a frat party. I don't see this being that big of a deal, but I'm sure stuff like this turned off plenty of NFL teams.

14 How Unbelievably Lost he Looked In His First NFL Start

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Throughout his rookie season, fans were begging for Johnny Manziel to replace struggling veteran Brian Hoyer, but head coach Mike Pettine was extremely reluctant to throw his first round pick into the fire.

With the Browns season way over, Pettine finally decided to give in and start Manziel in week 15 at the division rival Cincinnati Bengals. We immediately realized why Pettine was so hesitant to hand Manziel the reigns.

With so many watching anxiously to see how he would fair, Manziel could not have looked more incompetent. I mean, rookies typically struggle right away, but this was a whole another level of bad. He simply didn't look ready, which is inexcusable that late in the season.

He even came out and admitted to not taking his job seriously.

13 How "Professional" he Makes Himself Look on Instagram

Most athletes will post a lot of pics of themselves getting at it on the practice field or the weight room. Maybe a post victory locker room shot. Yes, there will be the occasional party photo for some, but typically, it showcases professionalism because most players realize how social media reflects on how the world views them. They realize you have to carry yourself differently in the public eye.

Johnny Manziel would prefer to let the world know how many celebrities he meets and how many parties he attends, with the occasional football related picture. He's like a high school student who just drank for the first time and wants everyone and their mothers to know about it. Can some please help him grow up and learn how to use social media?

12 Telling the Browns to Draft Him

William Perlman/THE STAR-LEDGER via USA TODAY Sports

Johnny Manziel was a polarizing player to begin with. No one knew where he would go in the draft based on the way he acts off the field, his size, and the risks involved in taking a quarterback such as him. That's why it didn't come as much of a surprise that he remained in the green room for an extended period of time.

This prompted Manziel to text Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslem and try to persuade him to trade up for him. Here is a quote of the text that was reportedly sent to the Browns owner.

I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to be there. I want to wreck this league together.

The Browns used a top ten pick to select cornerback Justin Gilbert (who was also a major bust) and decided to listen to Manziel and trade up for the former Aggie. After making the trade, they pulled the trigger and everyone watched Manziel flash the money sign to the crowd.

That left everyone wondering why in the world Manziel pushed himself onto one of the worst franchises in all of professional sports. Johnny Football has done himself no favors since being drafted, but he would probably have been better off just about anywhere else.

11 The Constant Partying

Throughout this list, there are different situations that relate to Johnny Manziel partying like a rockstar, but it is getting so bad that I figured I might as well make it it's own thing.

It feels like every single day we saw a new picture of Johnny partying with celebrities, athletes and random guys/gals. I understand that athletes will enjoy the nightlife, but he took it to another level. Some of the pictures and videos we have seen shed a terrible light on the struggling signal caller. It's no wonder he can't figure things out on the field. He spends 90 percent of his time downing Grey Goose and taking photo shoots.

10 Spending Part of His First Offseason with Gronk in Las Vegas

A post shared by Johnny Manziel (@jmanziel2) on

The offseason before rookie year is huge for any player, regardless of where they were drafted. It's a time to hit the weight room and work on reps as often as possible. Not a time to mess around and party your face off.

Apparently Johnny Manziel didn't get this memo.

Prior to starting his NFL campaign, Manziel was seen on social media partying it up in Las Vegas with Rob Gronkowski and a bunch of babes. Gronk is so good, he can basically do whatever he wants. Manziel was far from that category.

Now, don't get me wrong, it looks like he was having an amazing time and I'm certainly jealous of the fun he got into. But this also showed that Manziel wasn't taking his career particularly seriously. If I'm his teammate or coach, seeing this would have disgusted me.

9 The Money Sign

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Is there anything more douchey than when Johnny Manziel flashes the money sign? Even in college it was so freaking ridiculous, but that was something Manziel should have stopped doing in the NFL, at least until he was good.

Nope. The minute Manziel was drafted, he put up the money gesture. Then when he got his appearance in relief against the Buffalo Bills, he did it following his first touchdown. He didn't care what anyone thought of his actions, and maybe that was the biggest problem.

8 Rolling a Dollar Bill  in the Bathroom

One Instagram picture was posted that spotted Johnny Manziel rolling up a dollar bill in the bathroom a bunch of his buddies around him.

I guess you could say that it's unfortunate the Johnny Football can't do anything without someone posting about it, because he wasn't even looking at the camera. Unless you're super naive, I think we all know what he's about to do with that bill. Not the best look for Johnny Football. Hope the night out was worth yet another non-role model social media picture.

7 Reportedly Showing Up Drunk to Practice

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Sure, this was never actually confirmed. I don't think you could have been 100 percent certain a player is drunk at practice unless the coaches are literally breathalyzing the players as they walk through the door.

Regardless of whether or not Johnny Manziel actually showed up to practice drunk prior to the final game of the season, it doesn't look good for him that a rumor like that got out. It wasn't necessarily a surprise to anyone and the Cleveland Browns denied it to be true. Other reports came out that he was hungover, which also is a really bad look for the fluttering former first round pick.

6 The Money Phone

After Johnny Manziel was drafted, he let his new found money go to his head. Literally.

One night when Manziel was out at a night club with his friends, he just so happened to have a massive stack of money on him. In a drunken video posted on Instagram, Manziel held that Money to his head and was seen saying, "I can't hear you, I got to much money in my ear!"

Obnoxious? Yes. Douchey? Yes. Hilarious? Yes. I just wonder why Manziel has to have every single dumb thing he does documented on social media.

5 Reportedly Seen Wearing Blonde Wig in Las Vegas

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Over his college career at Texas A&M and his first two years in the NFL, we have heard some pretty ridiculous Johnny Manziel stories, but this one might just be the most unbelievable.

On the Sunday before the season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Manziel was required to report to the facility for concussion protocol, even though there was no chance of him playing. He didn't show (shocker). Most would assume he had one too many the night before and overslept, but a report came out stating something far more obscure.

The report said that Manziel was spotted in Las Vegas the night before wearing a blonde wig, glasses, and a mustache. If this was anyone else, I'd call BS. But this is Manziel, I have a hard time not believing it.

4 Manziel Throws Party with Teammates

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Johnny Manziel got injured in his second NFL start, coming against the Carolina Panthers. He wasn't playing well at all leading up the injury, but hey, he was a rookie who was just getting his feet wet.

Apparently Manziel packed it in as soon as he went down. Prior to the last game, Johnny decided to throw a banger and invite a bunch of players on the team, including Josh Gordon.

Manziel had treatment for his injury early the next day, but it comes as no surprise that the hungover quarterback was late to the facility. He was fined and Gordon was suspended. Not the way you want to close out your first NFL season, although I'm sure he had a great time as usual.

3 Taking to Twitter to Let Out Emotions in College

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Johnny Manziel should just stay off social media. Only bad things happen.

In the summer of 2013, prior to his final year with Texas A&M, Manziel took to Twitter to express some frustration. Not exactly the kind of place you want to be spewing some strong feelings. Maybe he was drunk (or probably).

Either way, here is what he decided to tweet out on June 6, 2013.

Bull**** like this is the reason I can't wait to leave college station.... whenever it may be

This was a bad move for many, many reasons. Mainly, it looks bad on his school. He was also eligible for the draft following the season and NFL teams aren't going to want that kind of guy. Just stupid all around Johnny. Damn.

2 Missing Monday Night Spotlight Because He Partied

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Johnny Manziel was set to hit the biggest regular season spotlight in all of football last season at home on Monday Night against the Baltimore Ravens. Sure, the game meant absolutely nothing, but for Manziel, this was a huge opportunity to shine in front of a national audience. A chance that doesn't come around often if you play for the Browns.

Manziel, who went to rehab prior to the season in order to get rid of old habits, was seen out partying on social media the week leading up to the game. When asked by head coach Mike Pettine about what took place, Manziel blatantly lied. This led to him being moved to third string, pushing Luke McCown into the starting role. Another blown opportunity and embarrassing mishap for Johnny. It's things like this that will make it very hard for him to find a new home this upcoming season.

1 Domestic Violence Allegations

It's honestly amazing that this wasn't bigger news. Isn't that so typical of the NFL and the media to downplay what seemed like a serious domestic violence allegation (ala Greg Hardy)?

This past offseason Johnny Manziel added the icing on the cake to all of debauchery when 23-year-old Colleen Crowley accused Manziel of striking her several times.

The investigation is ongoing, but Manziel's track record does him no favors in allowing people to believe he is innocent in this instance. We've seen in the past that this will have little affect on whether or not he can play in the NFL, but it gives teams more reason to steer clear of him.
