The world of wrestling is often home to plenty of strange combinations. Sometimes, an odd pairing can be both shocking and iconic, but more often than not, odd pairings end up fizzling out and being forgettable. There have been countless iconic combinations that wrestling fans didn’t know they needed, and a great example of that is the combination that would form The New Day.

Not every group and pairing can be that iconic, and it gets even tougher when a wrestler is only paired with a manager. It takes a lot to be a truly interesting wrestling manager, so it’s entirely possible that many fans struggle to recall many wrestling managers outside of the usual suspects.

10 Gail Kim & Jeff Jarrett

Gail Kim & Jeff Jarrett Celebrate A Win

While Jeff Jarrett’s name is usually met with a variety of different reactions, most wrestling fans agree that someone like Gail Kim was shockingly underutilized during her time in WWE. The pair may seem like an odd pairing at first, but they were originally together after Kim arrived in TNA for the first time.

Gail Kim is most often remembered for her stellar in-ring work, but few people talk about how effective of a manager she was. Managing to stand out against the sea of so-so wrestling managers, Kim would regularly interject herself into Jarrett’s matches in some way during their time together.

9 JBL & Jillian Hall

JBL and Jillian Hall Smackdown

There are plenty of iconic moments from JBL’s career that fans look back on, but many tend to forget that Jillian Hall was his manager at one point. After a series of high-profile losses, he actually hired Hall to somehow fix his career.

While many people have likely completely forgotten about their time together, there is one iconic moment from their pairing that people will surely remember. It may have slipped the minds of wrestling fans that The Boogeyman disgustingly ate her growth/mole off of her face while she was paired with JBL.

8 AJ Styles & Larry Zbyszko

AJ Styles First Title Win

There are a number of seemingly random feuds that occurred during both the early stages of AJ Styles’s career and the early years of TNA. One of the strangest was a feud that led to Larry Zybyszko managing AJ Styles for a short while.

While they didn’t stay together all that long thanks to Vince Russo canceling the storyline plans, many fans have wondered what could have come from the pairing. Styles had a habit of working with a number of wrestling legends during his time with TNA, so almost anything could have come from working with Zbyszko.

7 Deuce ‘N Domino & Maryse

Deuce 'N Domino Titles

Most wrestling fans couldn’t be blamed if they completely forgot about Deuce ‘N Domino. The tag-team did manage to snag WWE gold once along with their manager Cherry, but that didn’t make them stand out all that much.

The tag team replaced their manager with Maryse only a short while before they would eventually break-up. The pairing is completely forgettable because nothing of note actually happened during their incredibly short time together. Both men would end up released from the company only a short while later, while Maryse would go on to be quite the popular figure for the company.

6 Matt Striker & Big Daddy V

There have been some strange wrestler and manager pairings throughout the history of wrestling, but one of the strangest had to be Matt Striker managing Big Daddy V. The sheer size difference between the two men already made them look strange enough, but the odd mixture of their gimmicks didn’t work for a lot of fans.

People may have forgotten about their pairing, but those who remember Big Daddy V’s feud with Kane might remember them. The feud between the duo wasn’t exactly the best, but many fans did enjoy watching Kane get his hands on someone like Striker.

5 Mia Yim & Adam Cole

Wrestling fans who followed Adam Cole’s CZW days may have forgotten one of his earliest managers, that being Mia Yim. The pairing may seem strange today, but both wrestlers were still in the infancy of their careers.

The two were actually shown as being a kind of couple during their time together, something which may be hard to imagine nowadays. Their oldest fans will surely be happy to see how well the both of them have managed to do throughout their exciting careers all these years later.

4 Molly Holly & William Regal

Chris Jericho Vs William Regal

The reason people may have forgotten about a pairing like Molly Holly and William Regal is due to the fact that Holly was under another name at the time, Lady Ophelia. They weren’t paired together all that long, but it’s likely that many forgot about the unique moment from both legends careers.

Making the pairing even harder to have even known about is that most of their appearances seem to have taken place during dark matches back in the year 2000. While it was probably for the best that they were split up, fans are left to wonder how great the pair could have been as top heels for the WWE.

3 Paul Bearer & Rick Rude

Paul Bearer And Rick Rude

The reason that many people may have forgotten about Paul Bearer working alongside Rick Rude is due to the fact that he is so closely linked with The Undertaker. Many forget that Paul Bearer actually managed many future stars during the early phases of their careers.

The reason that many forget about that fact is that Paul Bearer worked with tons of future wrestling legends before they were anything particularly special in the eyes of wrestling fans. Many careers could have been very different if Bearer had continued to work with Rude or even “Stunning” Steve Austin.

2 Jacqueline Moore & Beer Money

Beer Money Inc. Entrance

While the storyline that brought Jacqueline Moore and Beer Money together makes perfect sense, the pairing itself is one that was somewhat forgettable. Jacqueline began managing the team due to the fact that she first acted as James Storm's manager, something that wrestling fans may have also forgotten.

Despite her time with Beer Money and even Storm alone being regarded as somewhat forgettable, it’s hard to say she didn’t have a positive impact when she was around. Jacqueline had the tendency to lead her clients to not only various titles but also some solid win streaks.

1 Stephanie McMahon & Kurt Angle

People may remember when Kurt Angle beat The Rock for the WWE Championship back in 2000 at No Mercy, but they may forget that Stephanie McMahon was by his side. She was actually acting as Angle’s manager at that time.

The reason that this pairing is so forgettable is due to just how hectic the WWE’s various feuds were at that time. Their short work together was the result of a storyline feud that featured some of the greatest talents in WWE history. A length of feuds featuring Triple H, The Rock, Kurt Angle, and even at times Stone Cold and Rikishi is bound to have some moments that don’t stand out.
