AEW as a company has helped take tag team wrestling to unprecedented heights. They have some of the best tag teams in the world on their roster, including the Lucha Bros, the Young Bucks, and FTR.
Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are in the middle of a historic run as a tag team. They're now the first and only team to have held the NXT, Raw, and Smackdown Tag Team Championships, the AEW Tag Team Championships, the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships, the AAA Tag Team Championships, and the IWGP Heavyweight Championships. But Cash and Dax aren't done yet.
What's Next For The Top Guys?
In an interview with Bleacher Report, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood talked about their goals as a tag team. Now that they've captured the AAA, ROH, and IWGP tag titles, they're ready to be international fighting champions. Cash called out a couple of opponents in particular for him and Dax to face.
There are still teams we want to work with that we haven't gotten a chance to and the top of that list for me is The Motor City Machine Guns. I want to wrestle The Good Brothers in Japan because we wrestled them once in 2019, I want to say in Japan, and was one of my favorite matches ever, and the footage doesn't exist. There's still a lot I want to accomplish.
With the forbidden door between AEW and NJPW now open, there's no telling where FTR might turn up next to defend their IWGP titles. There's also a chance that they could meet the Good Brothers and the Motor City Machine Guns on their home turf, IMPACT Wrestling.
MCMG vs FTR?
The Motor City Machine Guns are perhaps the most underrated tag team of the 21st century. Both Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are signed to IMPACT Wrestling and haven't missed a beat since reuniting. If this dream match comes to fruition, Sabin and Shelley could prove to be FTR's toughest challengers yet.
