Gable Steveson only signed for WWE a few weeks ago, and he's yet to work a match for the company ... but that didn't prevent him from issuing a tantalizing statement of intent in which he set his sights on Big E's WWE Championship.

Steveson referred to himself as a 'title seeker' during a recent chat with Corey Graves on WWE’s After the Bell podcast and revealed that he wants to add the WWE Championship to his long list of accomplishments.

I'm on Monday Night Raw, so right now, I’d like to take care of Big E because he’s the champion," Steveson said. "I’m title seeking. I’ve always been a title seeker. Gold medal, NCAA championship, anything else I’ve accomplished, and now that WWE belt, whether it’s Monday night, Friday night, I love being the person who people show up to watch," he added. "Wherever Gable is, that show ends up being perfect.”

Whether or not Gable is any good in the ring remains to be seen, but the 21-year-old is a lifelong fan of the art form and a phenomenal athlete to boot, so it's highly likely that he'll take to it like a duck to water ... and if that's the case, Big E vs. Gable Steveson could be a future WrestleMania main event.

As we previously reported, Steveson officially signed with WWE in September after months of speculation surrounding his future. Many fans assumed that Steveson would start training at the WWE Performance Center and kick of his WWE career on the company's developmental brand NXT, but we now know that Steveson will pull a Ronda Rousey and be fast-tracked to the main roster.

Steveson won an Olympic gold medal in the Men's Freestyle 125 kilograms competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on Friday, August 6. As we previously reported, Steveson has caught the attention of both Brock Lesnar and Triple H. Steveson was photographed backstage with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman at this year's WrestleMania. As you might recall, Steveson also appeared as a special guest at SummerSlam last month alongside his fellow Olympic wrestling champion Tamyra Mensah-Stock.
