Goldberg became a huge force in WCW as an undefeated powerhouse and popular name, though he finally found his way to WWE following the Monday Night Wars and after the whole Invasion angle.

Goldberg still had many fans who chanted his name as he walked to the ring, and he had a large amount of star power. However, there were ups and downs throughout Goldberg’s time in WWE, and that was no different when he made his return in 2016 too. He is a multi-time world champion and undoubtedly a legend in the business, but he has had both good and bad moments during his career.

10 Best: Helping Eddie Guerrero Win The WWE Championship

Goldberg No Way Out 2004

Although the spotlight wasn’t exactly on Goldberg during this moment, he still played a huge role in one of the most remarkable and celebrated WWE Championships wins of all time.

Goldberg interfered in the WWE Title match at No Way Out 2004 between Brock Lesnar and Eddie Guerrero, and it allowed Guerrero to capitalize and pick up the win. The fans were still going crazy for Goldberg at this point, and they erupted when he laid out Lesnar.

9 Worst: Pinned At Armageddon

Although his booking left a lot to be desired in WWE, he didn’t actually lose by pinfall too often in his first run. However, at Armageddon 2003, he was needlessly on the end of a pinfall loss that threatened to end his momentum dead in the water.

He defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Triple H and Kane, and was pinned by Triple H to lose the match. Whilst it wasn’t ‘clean’ exactly, it was a baffling choice to have Kane not be the one to take the fall, as he wasn’t doing much at the time.

8 Best: Winning World Heavyweight Championship

Goldberg v Triple H Unforgiven 2003 Cropped

Speaking of the World Heavyweight Championship, one of Goldberg’s better moments in his first run (and entire run overall) was when he overcame Triple H to win the belt - the one which he held several times in WCW.

Their match at Unforgiven wasn’t the best match in the world by any means, but it was a nice moment to see Goldberg put a brief end to the many month reign of Triple H, who was dominating Monday Night Raw around this period.

7 Worst: Scary Match With The Undertaker

At the Super ShowDown 2019 PPV in Saudi Arabia, Goldberg and The Undertaker faced off in what was billed as a dream match due to their respective legendary statuses. However, age was not on their side.

The Undertaker and Goldberg had one of the scariest matches in WWE history, as both men nearly seriously injured one another with botched moves and painful looking spots. It was an absolute mess of a match which looked like a parody. It was a dark point for both men, with many calling for them to never compete again following this.

6 Best: Redemption Match Vs. Dolph Ziggler

Following Goldberg’s match with The Undertaker, both men seeked some redemption. The Undertaker put in a great showing at Extreme Rules, while Goldberg set his sights on SummerSlam.

Goldberg destroyed Dolph Ziggler in a hugely entertaining squash match, and continued to pummel him after the bell. This felt like the perfect way to showcase Goldberg, and it is likely that many fans would have simply accepted this match being on every card if it meant that Goldberg looked this strong.

5 Worst: First Loss Inside Elimination Chamber

Goldberg Chris Jericho Shawn Michaels

In WCW, Goldberg procured one of the greatest streaks in professional wrestling history. When entering WWE, they would have been wise to do the same, and in fact, they did for some time. He picked up wins against The Rock, Chris Jericho, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton.

However, less than half a year into his run, Goldberg picked up his first loss in unceremonious fashion. He fell to some interference in the SummerSlam 2003 Elimination Chamber, which took the breath right out of the entire arena. This marked the beginning of a steep downfall for Goldberg.

4 Best: WWE Debut

Goldberg's WWE Debut

The arrival of Goldberg in WWE was expected, but his debut was still a huge moment. He interrupted a promo from The Rock, and emerged to a massive ovation and hero’s welcome.

All he had to utter was his signature catchphrase of “You’re Next” before delivering a massive spear. It was a simple debut but done to absolute perfection. Of course, things would go downhill, but his first appearance was fantastic.

3 Worst: Squashing “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

Goldberg Vs Bray Wyatt

At Super ShowDown 2020, “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt defended the Universal Championship against Goldberg. Going in, many believed this match to be in place simply due to it being in Saudi Arabia and a way of getting Goldberg on the card.

However, after a truly abysmal match, Goldberg shockingly defeated Wyatt and effectively ended The Fiend’s momentum for good. It was a poor moment and a bit of backwards booking from WWE.

2 Best: Squashing Brock Lesnar

At Survivor Series 2016, Goldberg made a shocking return to WWE after 12 years to face Brock Lesnar. The match was over in 90 seconds as Goldberg squashed Lesnar.

This result split fans, but it was a huge shock and a massive moment, and it made Goldberg feel like “Goldberg” for the first time since perhaps his WCW days. His feud with Lesnar was great overall, as their WrestleMania 33 match delivered too.

1 Worst: Farewell Match Vs. Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 20

Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg at WrestleMania 20

Perhaps Goldberg’s worst WWE moment came in the final match of his first run with the company. He was set to face Brock Lesnar in a dream match, but prior to the show it was revealed that both men were leaving the company.

This led to fans hijacking the match, which also had an effect on Lesnar and Goldberg, who seemingly decided to not try very hard to put on a good match. It was an awful way to say farewell.
