Roman Reigns has beaten a lot of people during his two and a bit years as Universal Champion. The Tribal Chief even managed to beat Goldberg, a match that was supposed to headline WrestleMania 36. It eventually went down in Saudi Arabia last February, and up until this point in time, that's the last chance WWE fans had to see Goldberg compete.

Goldberg Has No Matches Left

It was believed prior to that match that Goldberg only had one bout left on his WWE deal. The Hall of Famer appeared on The Bump this week and confirmed that is indeed the case. “I don’t have any matches left on my contract, but I know one way we could take care of him. I do need to give him a little receipt for that little choke-out in Saudi Arabia," referencing the way in which Reigns beat him earlier this year.

Reigns choked out Goldberg in their title match, retaining a championship he not only still holds to this day, but one he has unified, at least temporarily, with the WWE Championship. Most fans likely welcomed Reigns winning that match seven months ago, but would probably pop for a very different reason if Goldberg's music interrupted the champ gloating about how there is no one left for him to beat.

Clearly Still Attached To WWE

Goldberg appearing on The Bump and discussing his matchless contract obviously suggests he is very much still in the WWE zeitgeist. It's unclear what exactly his deal is at present, though. He may be on a Legends contract that allows WWE to include him in video games and sell merch themed after him, from which Goldberg will obviously be making money.

Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016, beating Brock Lesnar in 90 seconds at Survivor Series. It was supposed to be a one-and-done situation but showing his son what he did for a living for so many years renewed Goldberg's want to compete. That match led to a Royal Rumble appearance and a Lesnar rematch at WrestleMania the following year. He has competed sporadically since then, even winning the Universal Title.
