Since its inception in 1985, WrestleMania has become a staple in the professional wrestling calendar. The majority of wrestling fans look forward to WrestleMania. The cream generally rises to the top at WrestleMania, and new stars emerge from noteworthy victories on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Unfortunately, not every WrestleMania that WWE has produced has been great.

There have been some WrestleManias that WWE produced with matches that were worthy of featuring on Raw. Moreover, WWE must get the match order correct with WrestleMania as sometimes the misplacement of matches can see the card go on a downward spiral. Nonetheless, these matches at WrestleMania were outstanding, and it's a shame that the rest of the card couldn't keep up.

WrestleMania 2 emanated in three different cities which hampered the quality of the show. Nevertheless, fans in the Rosemont Horizon were treated to a barnburner of a WWE Tag Team Championship match. The Dream Team comprised of Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Brutus Beefcake put their titles on the line against the British Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs were accompanied to the ring by Ozzy Osbourne. This was an outstanding Tag Team Title match with all four men bringing their A-game. Valentine showed his toughness by kicking out of Bulldog's patented running powerslam. The finish was a little bizarre with Bulldog pushing Valentine into Dynamite Kid, and they clashed heads with Bulldog pinning Valentine to secure the WWE Tag Team Titles.

9 The Steiner Brothers Vs. The Headshrinkers - WrestleMania 9

Arguably WrestleMania 9 will go down in history as the worst WrestleMania that WWE has ever staged. It has the distinction of being the first WrestleMania to be held outdoors at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Moreover, the Steiner Brothers and the Headshrinkers did themselves proud with an entertaining tag team match.

Both teams enjoyed plenty of offense, and the pendulum swung in both teams' favor. There were plenty of power moves, but it was the Steiner Brothers who got the bragging rights with Scott executing a Frankensteiner on Samu to prevail.

Whilst Roman Reigns and Triple H stunk out the joint in a boring WWE Championship match to close out WrestleMania 32, there were some title matches on the card, that were better matchups. Kevin Owens defended the Intercontinental Championship in a seven-man ladder in his debut WrestleMania appearance.

Sami Zayn, Stardust, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Zack Ryder, and Sin Cara were determined to take the title away from KO. As expected, this Intercontinental Title match lived up to the hype. Owens and Zayn were involved in the thick of the action and rightfully so. There were some brutal bumps, and Ryder emerged as the surprising victor to take home the Intercontinental Championship.

Shawn Michaels won the 1995 Royal Rumble match, and he challenged Diesel for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 11. It was the biggest match in HBK's career to date, and he put on a sublime performance. HBK had Sycho Sid in his corner to give him moral support.

Nevertheless, Diesel and Michaels stole the show in the match of the night. They played second fiddle to Lawrence Taylor and Bam Bam Bigelow's clash, but they should have gone on last. Michaels should have won the WWE Championship, but it wasn't to be with Diesel retaining the WWE Title.

Two of the legendary figures in the Attitude Era, The Rock and Steve Austin headlined WrestleMania 15 with the Corporate Champion's WWE Championship up for grabs. This was the first match in their trilogy of matches together at the Show of Shows.

Rock and Austin's chemistry together has always been great, and their series of matches are competitive encounters. Despite the outside interference, the Texas Rattlesnake recaptured the WWE Championship on a bitterly disappointing WrestleMania event.

At WrestleMania 16, the Dudley Boyz, Edge, Christian, and the Hardy Boyz made history. They were pitted against each other in the first-ever triangle ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. These teams transcended tag team wrestling to new heights in the Attitude Era.

They hit a home run in the match of the night. Not even the main event featuring Triple H, The Rock, Big Show, and Mick Foley for the WWE Championship could touch this match. There were several memorable spots, and Edge and Christian finally captured the WWE Tag Team Championship for the first time in their career.

Wrestling fans breathed a sigh of relief when the WWE Divas Championship met its demise. At WrestleMania 32, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks met in a triple threat match for the newly-established WWE Women's Championship.

Charlotte, Lynch, and Banks should have closed out the show, as they stole the show in the best match of the night. It was all three women's debut appearances at WrestleMania, and they weren't fazed at the magnitude of WrestleMania. The Boss had a grand entrance with her cousin Snoop Dogg, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2016, rapped her down the aisle. Nevertheless, the Queen stood tall, and she applied the Figure Eight with Lynch submitting.

2 The Undertaker Vs. CM Punk - WrestleMania 29

Undertaker v CM Punk WrestleMania 29

CM Punk never headlined WrestleMania in his WWE career, and he should have done it at WrestleMania 29. The Second City Saint was aiming to end Undertaker's 20-0 WrestleMania unbeaten streak in a high-level encounter. Punk and Undertaker made up for their poor encounters in 2009, and Punk pushed Undertaker to his absolute limit.

The Straight Edge Savior didn't go down without a fight, and he came incredibly close to ending Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. Nonetheless, a jaw-dropping Tombstone was enough for the Deadman to see off Punk in a high-caliber match which saw him go 21-0 in the final victory of his WrestleMania streak.

1 Bret Hart Vs. Steve Austin - WrestleMania 13

Bret Hart v Stone Cold WrestleMania 13 Cropped

The road to WrestleMania 13 was bumpy, and Bret Hart clashed with Steve Austin in a legendary match at WrestleMania 13. Ken Shamrock was the special guest referee, and this was one of the greatest matches in the history of WrestleMania.

Unquestionably, this was the main event, and the crowd was flat for Sycho Sid and Undertaker's WWE Championship that went on last. The Hitman put on a technical masterclass, and Austin showed why he was ready to become the next major star in WWE. The double turn was perfectly executed with Hart turning heel, and Austin becoming a babyface. Hart was victorious and the blood dripping down Austin's face was an iconic WrestleMania moment.
