The New Age Outlaws were the WWE Tag Team Champions by the start of 2000, but it was evident that the baton was going to be handed over to the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge Christian. On the February 14, 2000, edition of Raw, D-Von Dudley, Jeff Hardy, and Edge faced off in a triple threat match. The winner earned their team a WWE Tag Team Championship match against the Outlaws at No Way Out.

Bubba Ray Dudley, Matt Hardy, and Christian accompanied their tag team partners to the ring. Nevertheless, D-Von picked up the all-important victory. It was significant as the Dudleyz went on to capture their first WWE Tag Team Championship at the Outlaws' expense.

On the February 7, 2000, edition of Raw, the Dudleyz defeated D'Lo Brown and The Godfather in a tag team match. However, they set up a table on the outside, and D-Von Dudley grabbed BB who was an EMT at ringside.

The Dudleys were close to putting BB through the table that was positioned at ringside. In the nick of time, Edge, Christian, and the Hardy Boyz saved BB from the Dudleys' clutches. The Dudleys retreated to the locker room, although on the following episode of SmackDown, they successfully put her through the table.

WWE hosted exclusive pay-per-views in the UK from 1997-2003. Some matches on the card often get overlooked. At Insurrextion 2001, the Dudleyz, the Hardys, and Edge and Christian were once again squaring off. This time, X-Factor comprised of X-Pac and Justin Credible were involved in a fatal-4-way elimination match.

All four teams created a fun match, and fans were heavily invested. X-Factor was the first team to be eliminated, and the Hardys followed suit. It was whittled down between Edge and Christian, and The Dudley Boyz. It's no surprise that Edge and Christian, and the Hardy Boyz were the final two teams involved. The Dudleys planted Edge and Matt Hardy with 3D. They put drove Jeff Hardy through Christian through the table. Since there wasn't a clear-cut winner, all three teams battled in the first-ever triangle ladder for the WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 2000.

On the March 19, 2001, episode of Raw, the Hardys were expected to defend the tag titles against the Dudley Boyz. However, Edge and Christian took the Dudleys' place, stating that the Dudleys had not arrived in the arena.

Their cunning plan was a success as they defeated the Hardys to become six-time WWE Tag Team Champions all thanks to Rhyno. Commissioner Regal was in a foul mood, and Edge and Christian were forced to defend the titles against the Dudleys. Edge and Christian's Tag Team Championship reign was the shortest tag title reign with those particular belts with the Dudleys winning the titles. It was the second time that the Tag Team titles had three different teams holding the gold in one night.

4 The First TLC Match Was In The Hardy Boyz's Hometown

The Hardy Boyz had the hometown advantage as SummerSlam emanated in Raleigh, North Carolina. The match was breathtaking, and all three teams once again hit a home run. At Survivor Series, the Hardys and the Dudleyz clashed with Edge, Christian, and RTC in a four-on-four traditional Survivor Series elimination match.

This match is often forgotten about, and the Hardys and the Dudleys were matching. Ultimately, Jeff was the standout performer, and he eliminated Christian and Goodfather in quick succession to secure the victory for his team.

This is often dubbed as "TLC III" and it's barely spoken about because of Benoit's involvement. While it didn't reach the heights of the first two TLC matches, it was still a perfectly-executed match. Nonetheless, despite their efforts, Benoit and Jericho retained the titles.
