It looks like the Boston Bruins have started to rebuild.

After missing out on this past season’s NHL playoffs, the Bruins have parted ways with both winger Milan Lucic and defenseman Dougie Hamilton.

Lucic, one of Boston’s most polarizing athletes, is heading to California. The Los Angeles Kings acquired the winger in exchange for the 13th overall pick in the NHL Draft (which takes place this weekend) and goalie Martin Jones.

Hamilton, who was regarded as one of the Bruins’ top players, heads to the Calgary Flames in exchange for a first-round pick (15th overall) and two second-round picks (45th and 52nd overall) in the draft.

It’s safe to say something is brewing in Boston.
