There are nice saves. There are spectacular stops. There's highway robbery.
And then there's what Karri Ramo did to J.T. Miller on Tuesday night.
Ramo submitted his name to the "Save of the Year" ballot with his sprawling, acrobatic effort against Rangers forward J.T. Miller. It could be argued that Miller should have put more on the shot, or that Flames defenseman Mark Giordano might have gotten a piece of the shot when he reached back to try and knock the puck off Miller's blade.
Either way, Ramo deserves full credit for locating the puck, sprawling over to his left, catching the puck and controlling his momentum so as to make sure his outstretched arm did not cross the line. We've seen several incredible saves from goalies this season, but Ramo might have pulled off the best of this year's crop.
