Montreal Canadiens Featured in McDonald's Poutine Commercial

Well it seems hockey fans finally got their answer as to why Jeff Petry chose to stay in Montreal this past summer and not test the free agent market. No other market could have offered him a Smoked Meat Poutine like the Montreal market could.

McDonald's has released the Petry Poutine, which includes smoked meat on top of the fries/gravy/cheese combination that Quebecers (and many other North American regions) love oh so much.

It's not the first time a Canadiens player has had their name plastered on a McDonald's product. Brendan Gallagher and Max Pacioretty have both gotten their own burger, as did Daniel Briere when he was a Hab.

“At McDonald’s, we’re always looking for ways to adapt our menu based on regional preferences and in Quebec this means uniting two cultural icons: poutine and hockey,” says Carl Pichette, the Eastern marketing manager for McDonald’s Canada.
