Great, I'm in my mid 20s and I'm feeling bitter today. Well, maybe not bitter, but a little bummed. Why did NHL General Managers have to stop procrastinating? Why do all the deals have to be spread out over the course of the season? Can't we go back to the days where teams panicked at the deadline and mortgaged their futures for a Stanley Cup run?
These marathon trade deadline shows have stooped down to spying on fourth liners, extra defencemen and anything from a player answering his phone to sneezing is considered a tidbit of information.
Can TV networks just accept the fact that the deadline ain't what it used to be? In an age of Twitter breaking trades, do you really need a dozen announcers on screen talking about nothing for hours, with spurts of minor trades squeezed in?
