If you're Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper or general manager Steve Yzerman, you absolutely despise what happened in the video above.
If you're anyone else, you absolutely loved it.
Steven Stamkos is one of the National Hockey League's most likeable players - soft spoken, easygoing, and arguably the most lethal sniper in the league behind only Alex Ovechkin, all qualities which make him not only a very marketable athlete but also a massive part of the Tampa Bay organization.
An injury at this point in the season would be devastating, but Stamkos, who was named the team's captain last season after Martin St. Louis was was shipped out of town, has been looking to assert himself as the team's leader in more ways than just scoring goals.
Brad Marchand gave him an opportunity to do so on Sunday evening. After Marchand took out Valtteri Filppula with a questionable and low hit, Stamkos hopped over the bench and immediately confronted Marchand. The two finally dropped the gloves and Stamkos, without hesitation, went right after Marchand and notched a clear win with a strong takedown of the Bruins forward.
