Top 15 NHL WAGs Who Were More Famous Than Their Partners

On the ice NHL players create their own claim to fame. They are a big deal because it’s their world. A toothless smile and a bushy beard is the name of the game and you can find countless rinks full of women on the sidelines cheering them on. Off the ice players tend to live a more reserved lifestyle and remain quiet about their personal lives. However, much like most professional athletes, they have the ability for women to flock to them so they never really have to work for it. Then, as natural order would have it, fame tends to attract more fame to form one really famous power couple. Out the window goes the secrecy and in comes the red carpet. The WAGs (wives and girlfriends), generally get that exclusive label when they join forces with a high profile athlete. Just this past year, 2015 debuted two different shows solemnly dedicated to these women. ‘WAGS’ on E!, with a variety of different sports the women were married in to, but most importantly ‘Hockey Wives’ on W Network, giving you that inside look of the somewhat glamorous lifestyle.

Despite this, not every WAGs claim to fame is whom they married, but what they have done on their own. These ladies have made a name for themselves in their fields of work ranging from actresses, to models, to singers and more. In some cases they are even more famous than their hockey-playing husbands (gasp). With that, here are the Top 15 NHL WAGs (Past or Present) Who Were More Famous Then Their Partners.
