Unofficial: It looks like Las Vegas and Quebec City were the only places to submit #NHL expansion bids. Seattle and Toronto were expected.

The formal deadline for applications for NHL Expansion teams is today and it seems only two cities have filed expansion bids to the NHL; Quebec City and Las Vegas. Many were expecting more cities, including Seattle, Kansas City and Hamilton to apply as well.

The application fee was $10 million and it's expected than the actual fee for a franchise will be north of $500 million.

The NHL needs more teams in the Western Conference to provide more balance to the two conferences, so that would make Las Vegas the clear cut favorite to get the NHL's next franchise.
