There's always an air of excitement when the son or daughter of a wrestler breaks into the business. However, that excitement feels higher than ever before for Hook. Taz's son debuted in AEW at the end of 2021, immediately generating a tonne of buzz and a massive following. Hook has clearly been training closely with his dad, and Taz wouldn't have wanted him on TV until he was more than ready which has definitely paid off.

The Danhausen Curse

Dynamite aired from Hook's home of Long Island this week, meaning he got an even bigger reaction than he usually does when he showed up. On the show, Hook came to the aid of Danhausen after the new signing lost his debut match to Tony Nese very quickly. However, Hook and Danhausen's work for the evening wasn't done.

Both men returned to the ring after Dynamite went off the air for a segment with CM Punk. Clearly threatening him with a curse, Danhausen managed to force Punk back into the ring. As Punk continued to back off, he eventually bumped into Hook. You could tell from the look on Punk's face that he knew what was about to happen, but decided to try and neutralize the situation anyway.

Hook Gets Punk

After a brief pause, Punk turned around, dropped to a knee, and offered his hand to Hook. Surprisingly, Hook reciprocated, but then disaster struck for Punk. Hook refused to relent the handshake, pulling Punk in for a suplex, much to the delight of the Long Island crowd. Hook then applied the Tazmission, now known as the Redrum, at which point Punk quickly started to tap but Hook kept it locked in until Punk passed out.

None of this will have any standing when it comes to what happens on AEW TV, of course. Much like Danhausen placing a curse on William Regal last month. When the cameras were off, this was all a bit of fun for those who were in the building. It was very cool of Punk to be a part of it, though. It's also something the fans in Long Island would have loved. Following his brutal war with MJF, Long Island is one of the few places Punk gets booed right now.
