According to the Wall Street Journal, Saudi Arabia has shared with the United States intelligence of an "imminent attack" from Iran. The target of these attacks are reported to be "targets in the Kingdom" and while immediate speculation is that this won't affect WWE heading to Saudi for Crown Jewel this weekend, it is a story worth keeping an eye on as developments unfold. WWE is slated to hold its show from Mrsool Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The report from the Wall Street Journal notes that The White House National Security Council said it was concerned about the warnings and ready to respond if Iran carried out an attack. “We are concerned about the threat picture, and we remain in constant contact through military and intelligence channels with the Saudis,” said a National Security Council spokesperson. “We will not hesitate to act in the defense of our interests and partners in the region.”

Will WWE's Crown Jewel Still Go On As Planned?

With a raised level of alert for their military forces, some are wondering what this means for WWE who is set to travel to Saudi Arabia for their Crown Jewel premium live event on November 5, 2022. This would not be the first time travel issues or security threats affected the show if it was deemed that WWE need to rethink things. But, as of now, the plan is still to travel and produce the event. Things could change and WWE has not officially released a statement or comment on the report of any potential danger.

WWE is set to hold its quarterly financials call tomorrow, (Wednesday 2nd November) and this issue will certainly come up. There should be more information available at that time. That meeting is set to take place at 5 p.m. ET.
