Kicking off the Countdown to Bound For Glory would be Brian Myers defending the Impact Digitial Media Championship in an open challenge. Answering the call, would be a debuting Dirty Dango, formerly Fandango in WWE.

While Myers continues to do strong character work in Impact Wrestling, his matches for the Digital Media Championship have remained forgettable. Facing off against Dirty Dango would not change that. Following Myers' Roster Cut finisher, the champion would retain his belt once again.

7 Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match

At last year's Bound For Glory, the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match would be one of the worst matches of the year, lasting over 35 minutes and being paced like a snail. With major stakes attached after last year's event though, which saw Moose win and cash in after the main event, defeating Josh Alexander in a matter of seconds, this time around, Impact would look to right the wrongs of last year's outing.

Featuring some of the top names in Impact, both male and female, with names like Steve Maclin, Moose, Killer Kelly, Gisele Shaw, Sami Callihan, and Eric Young taking part in the match, there would also be surprise entrants, with Taylor Wilde and Matt Cardona returning. Two-time Impact World Champion Bully Ray, Tommy Dreamer, and Rhino would all take part in the match, holding an ECW reunion during the match. Coming down to Bully Ray and Steve Maclin, this match would surpass its 2021 predecessor, though it was far from great. Unfortunately, Bully Ray would pin Steve Maclin in a reminder that Impact still makes some baffling booking choices.

After Taya and Rosemary would lose their Knockouts Tag Titles during a brief run with the belts, Chelsea Green and Deonna Purrazzo, now known as VXT, would pick up the tag titles. Heading into Bound For Glory, Taya and Rosemary would decide that a new move would need to be made, with Taya and Jessicka teaming for the first time as the Death Dollz to challenge for the belts.

While the Knockouts Tag Division has been less than stellar in recent months, this match would end up being quite fun. Amplified by the fun, fan-favorite character of Jessicka and a very lively live crowd, this was one of the better Knockouts Tag matches in 2022. Following the Sick Driver, The Death Dollz would win the tag belts, pinning Deonna Purrazzo to kick off a new reign!

5 Mickie James vs Mia Yim

The first bit of women's action on the Bound For Glory PPV card would see Mickie James taking on Mia Yim in the next stop of her "Last Rodeo Tour". With an added stipulation that James would retire should Yim defeat her, this match had quite the big stakes attached to it. With Mickie coming off an incredible match against Gisele Shaw at Victory Road and Yim having been on a hot streak since returning to Impact, all eyes were on these ladies tonight.

Delivering a hard-hitting match, these two would work incredibly hard throughout the match, and while it was not as great or unpredictable as the matcha against Shaw, Mickie and Mia would have a very strong match, boosted by some excellent selling from James, who would win via her Mick-DT.

4 Impact World Tag Team Championship Match

Dethroning the Good Brothers on their way out of the company, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett, formerly known in Impact as OGK would defend their tag team titles against the legendary Motor City Machine Guns at Bound For Glory. Now sporting their old ROH-based name, The Kingdom, Taven and Bennett would walk into the PPV draped in gold and feeling like bigger deals than before.

With the Machine Guns being one of the best teams in wrestling, even today, and The Kingdom being highly underrated, this was a surefire banger from the moment it was announced. Featuring thrillingly-paced in-ring action, crazy tag team maneuvers, and all around great wrestling, the match would see The Kingdom steal a win despite Bennett taking out his wife with a misplaced superkick.

3 X Division Championship Match

Kicking off the actual Bound For Glory PPV, one of the best wrestlers of 2022 would look to continue an extremely strong streak this year, with 'Speedball' Mike Bailey defending his X Division Championship against AEW's Frankie Kazarian. With Kaz having regularly wrestled in Impact for the past few months, and having delivered a number of great matches while representing AEW, this would be no different.

Feeling like exactly what made the X Division great in the first place, these two men would go to war in the first match of the PPV, putting on a fast-paced, high octane X Division title match! Allowing Kazarian to be the first to kick out of Bailey's Ultima Weapon was a huge surprise, but Bailey would end up kicking out of Kaz's Flux Capacitor for a crazy pair of moments.Even more shocking however would be the fact that Frankie Kazarian would win the X Division Championship, tapping out Mike Bailey and winning his fifth X Division Title!

One of the headlining matches for 2022's Bound For Glory, Jordynne Grace would have her toughest task since winning the Knockouts Championship as she would defend her belt against the undefeated Masha Slamovich. Coming off a series of big-time, great matches as champion this year, first against Mia Yim, and then against Max The Impaler, Grace would look for another notch in her impressive run.

Going all out, Grace and Masha would deliver a violent knockouts battle with the top prize of the division on the line. Capping off a great, unpredictable title match, Masha would kick out of the Grace Driver, before Jordynne would escape out of the Snowplow. Delivering a top-rope Grace Driver, Jordynne would retain her championship, not only continuing her amazing run as the top Knockout in the division, but also cementing her as a dominant, strong Knockouts Champion.

1 Impact World Championship Match

Main-eventing the PPV, Josh Alexander and Eddie Edwards would face off with the Impact World Championship on the line. With the Honor No More storyline taking such precedence on Impact TV this year, this was one of the biggest matches that the company had in their pockets for Bound For Glory. With a number of great defenses this year, namely against Eric Young, Tomohiro Ishii, and Alex Shelley, heading into this match Josh Alexander had crafted himself into one of the best world champions in wrestling.

Surprising nobody, Alexander and Edwards would go to war in a very hard-hitting match that included suplexes up the entrance ramp, an Emerald Flowsion on exposed wood, and some major interference from Honor No More. Following a kickout by the champ from Edwards' Boston Knee Party, Alexander would have his nose broken after eating a Die Hard Driver from his challenger. After two C4 Spike Piledrivers, Josh Alexander would retain in an epic World Championship Match! Following the match, Bully Ray would help Josh scare off Honor No More before the two would face down ahead of their future Impact World Championship clash.
