Regardless of opinions on Impact Wrestling in 2022, one area where the company has remained strong over the years is in its presentation of women's wrestling. With their Knockouts Division at its strongest in sometime, headlined by names like Mickie James, Mia Yim, Jordynne Grace, and Deonna Purrazzo, the company has one of, if not the best, women's division in North America.
Looking towards one of the top stars in the division, Deonna Purrazzo would sign with the company in 2020, coming off a less-than-great run in WWE. Upon arrival, Purrazzo would quickly rise up the ranks, becoming Knockouts Champion, and proving to her doubters and critics that she is one of the best women's wrestlers working today.
10 Deonna Purrazzo vs Mickie James - Bound For Glory 2021
Facing off against one of the legends of both the Knockouts Division and women's wrestling as a whole, Deonna Purrazzo would put her Knockouts Championship on the line against Mickie James at the 2021 edition of Bound For Glory. With this serving as just the beginning of a long-term rivalry between the two women, it was also the strongest match in their series over the Knockouts Title.
Shocking the world, Mickie would dethrone The Virtuosa in just under 15 minutes, something that a lot of fans did not see coming heading into the PPV. The two would have a good match, though it would not reach the levels of some of Deonna's other big matches.
9 Deonna Purrazzo vs Thunder Rosa - Slammiversary 2021
A Forbidden Door-style match that many seemed to have forgotten came during the summer of 2021 at Impact's annual Slammiversary PPV. With Deonna Purrazzo having defeated nearly every woman in her path, she hosted an open challenge at the event, asking for anyone from anywhere to step up. AEW's rising star, Thunder Rosa, would take the challenge and would face off against Deonna, though she would come up short.
Following Purrazzo's defeat of Thunder Rosa, Mickie James would step up to bat, as she would make her intentions clear of facing off against Deonna later, something that would happen at Bound For Glory, months later, where James would win the Knockouts Championship.
8 Deonna Purrazzo vs Su Yung - Turning Point 2020
A match quite unlike anything else in Deonna's top matches, her battle against Su Yung at Turning Point 2020 would see Deonna have to wrestle a No Disqualificaton style of match. The two women would go to war in a brutal, violent affair, with Yung being more at home in the environment than the New Jersey native.
In the end, Purrazzo would put an end to Yung's brief time as Knockouts Champion, winning back her championship and putting an end to the Su Yung character for some time, after a thrilling, violent bout. While it is certainly not her best match, it does remain one of Deonna's most unique bouts in Impact.
7 Queen Of The Mountain Match - Slammiversary 2022
2022's Impact Wrestling Slammiversary PPV would see a lot of high profile matches taking place. Headlined by a world-class Impact World Championship match between Josh Alexander and Eric Young, the big women's match on the show would be the first-ever Queen of the Mountain Match for the Knockouts Championship. With Deonna being one of the top stars of the division, it came as no surprise that she would be featured in the field.
Not only delivering a great wrestling match, the ladies involved would go for it all, with Purrazzo and Chelsea Green having a bonkers spot off a ladder that would take them out of the match during the final moments. While Deonna would not win, she would look great in defeat, with this being a fun, inventive match for the Knockouts Division.
6 Deonna Purrazzo vs Masha Slamovich - Knockouts Knockdown 2021
During the Knockouts Knockdown event in late 2021, the Knockouts Division would be given a big spotlight during an all-female show. Headlined by Deonna Purrazzo vs Masha Slamovich, this would serve as a sort-of tryout for Masha before she would eventually be signed to the company. With this being the two's first meeting in Impact, it would be one of the biggest stages for Masha's young career at this point.
Though she would fail to beat Purrazzo, Masha would prove to be an excellent opponent for the top Knockout in Impact Wrestling, and in turn, would prove to be a great addition to the growing Knockouts Division within Impact Wrestling.
5 Deonna Purrazzo vs Mia Yim - Impact Wrestling 7/2/22
A very recent match for Deonna Purrazzo, this television match in July of 2022 would see The Virtuosa face off against one of the company's biggest recent signings in the form of Mia Yim. Coming in hot and steady, Yim has been on fire for much of the year in Impact Wrestling, with her delivering great singles matches against Mickie James and Jordynne Grace.
During their match in July, Deonna and Yim would face off on a regular episode of Impact as a high-profile women's match. Main-eventing the show, Mia Yim would defeat Deonna Purrazzo, earning her and Jordynne Grace a shot at the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.
4 Deonna Purrazzo vs Rok-C - Impact Wrestling 1/9/22
Another big-time television match for Deonna Purrazzo, but this time, kicking off her 2022, would see the Virtuosa facing off against one of the fastest rising stars in women's wrestling; Rok-C. Kicking things off strong, Deonna and Rok-C would do battle in a title-vs-title match that saw Deonna putting her AAA Championship on the line, while Rok-C put her ROH title on the line in a killer bout.
Following the match, Rok-C would sign with WWE NXT, where she now wrestles regularly as one of the top women in the NXT Women's Division under the name of Roxanne Perez. Deonna would go onto to hold a number of "Champ Champ Challenges" after this, where anyone could challenge her for either of her titles.
3 Deonna Purrazzo vs Jordynne Grace - Slammiversary 2020
Marking Deonna Purrazzo's first match as a part of the Knockouts Division, she would challenge Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary 2020 in her first match in Impact. Instantly proving to have great chemistry with each other, these two would put on a very strong match for the top prize in the Knockouts Division.
Making quite the strong statement as well upon her arrival, Deonna Purrazzo would dethrone Jordynne Grace, defeating the champion in around 15 minutes during the semi-main event of the PPV!
2 Deonna Purrazzo vs Masha Slamovich - Impact Wrestling 8/26/22
The most recent match to be featured as one of Deonna Purrazzo's best matches in Impact, is her most recent encounter with Masha Slamovich. Taking place during the August 26 episode of Impact Wrestling, these two women would meet once again, almost a year after their first match at Knockouts Knockdown 2021. With Masha now undefeated since signing with the company, the result of this match would be a reverse of their first meeting.
As Masha was on the road to Bound For Glory, where she would ultimately fail at capturing the Knockouts Championship, she would defeat Deonna Purrazzo in an excellent television match.
1 Deonna Purrazzo vs Jordynne Grace, Iron Man Match - Emergence 2020
In their second meeting in Impact Wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace would not only outshine their first match, an already great encounter between the two, but they would also deliver one of the best women's matches of 2020 during their Iron Man Match at Impact's Emergence event during the summer. Facing off with the Knockouts title on the line, and with higher stakes and a huge stipulation, these two would shine as two of the best women's wrestlers alive in this match.
Coming out on top, this match would cement Deonna Purrazzo as the top star in the Knockouts Division and would immediately start her reign as Knockouts Champion in a very hot manner.
