WWE NXT Superstar Bronson Reed tells The Sportster's Denise Salcedo that although he loves being on the black and gold brand that he has a lot of goals he'd like to accomplish within WWE that would require him to join Raw or Smackdown.

The former NXT North American champion, Bronson Reed sat down with Denise Salcedo ahead of his match with Adam Cole on this week's edition of NXT airing on SYFY. However, not only did they discuss the match itself, but Reed also spoke about the online rumors that he may be possibly called up to either RAW on the USA Network or Smackdown on FOX.

First, Reed wrestled Robert Roode in a dark match on the June 18th edition of Smackdown. A few days later Reed wrestled Drew Gulak on a WWE Main Event taping on June 21st. Then on the June 29th NXT show, Reed lost the NXT North American Championship to Hit Row's Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, this came as a surprise to many because Reed only held the title for 42 total days and never got to successfully defend the title in a singles match. This led to many speculating the quick title change was due to Reed possibly going to the main roster.

As of press time for this interview and article, Bronson Reed is still on the NXT roster. However, joining the main roster is something that he is interested in.

"For the time being I am still in NXT and I love being in NXT. And when I lost that belt I knew straight away that everyone on Twitter and Instagram would speculate; I knew that was gonna be what everyone thought because I am like 'okay that makes sense that’s what people think.' But it is something that I look forward to doing. I look forward to doing more with NXT but at the same time, as a kid growing up as such a big fan, I wanna be on Royal Rumble, I wanna be on Summerslam, I wanna have my WrestleMania moment. So to be able to do that you have to be on a Raw or Smackdown."

Reed also mentioned in the interview that growing up he was a big fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock during the Attitude Era. Therefore, it makes sense that he too would like to bask in some of the same accomplishments such as becoming WWE Champion.

Another discussion point that was brought up during the conversation was a tweet he shared online, where he slightly hints at joining Roman Reigns and The Usos on the blue brand.

However it seems that this may have just been Reed having a little fun. In regards to the tweet he shared, this is what he had to say:

"Well I think a lot of people online fantasy book that. So I just like to feed their ego a little bit, {laughs} stir the pot a little bit. But I would not be against aligning myself with those guys. I’ve met them, they are someone that I feel I can definitely work with, but at the same time I wouldn’t be against fighting those guys as well."

And while many still feel strongly that we might see Reed on Raw or Smackdown soon, he still has a major match scheduled on NXT. This week, Reed will square up against Adam Cole in the main event.

"This is a match that I think, not only myself, but I think the fans want it as well. When it was announced there was a big buzz online. We brushed shoulders backstage before but we’ve never done it in the ring. So it’s definitely a clash of styles, myself and Adam Cole wrestle very differently. And he’s seen as NXT’s top star, I believe he is the #1 guy for NXT and for me to be there with him means that I am up there with him. I am that main event caliber, but to beat him would definitely cement me as one of NXT’s best."

Another interesting tidbit is that while the goals of joining the main roster are there, he has another dream that requires Reed to stay in NXT. When asked about who his dream opponent is, he named Samoa Joe.

"As for dream opponents, I think there is someone that everyone wants to see me wrestle, as well as myself. I was a big fan of his as a teenager, it’s Samoa Joe. Younger, I was a big fan of the attitude era but then as a teenager, I sort of discovered the independent scene and CM Punk and Samoa Joe were my two favorites, they sort of shaped my teenage years. So then all these years down the line, and now I am in the same locker room as Samoa Joe, I feel like it’s just inevitable, it’s fate that me and him wrestle in that ring at some stage. And it’s something that I’ve wanted for years, as a fan to then becoming a wrestler, if it happens I think you’re gonna see fireworks."

It will be interesting to see whether or not Bronson Reed sticks around on NXT a little longer or if he really is headed to the main roster. One thing is for sure though, you won't want to miss his face-off against Adam Cole on this week's NXT episode, airing on the SYFY channel.
