Jeff Jarrett has a complex history with wrestling fans. He is a very good worker and could work on a top level in the mid-card. However, Jarrett's run as WCW World Champion was rough, and worse was his dominance of the main event in TNA. It often seemed Jarrett thought he was a bigger deal than he was but still a good singles star. However, Jarrett has done a few tag teams over the years to varying success.

Indeed, in his early years, Jarrett was a very good tag team worker in the old USWA promotion and had a few other good partners afterward. He also had some bad pairings, either for a couple of matches or even holding titles together, but they never seemed to work right even if they were successful at winning gold. These are the five best and five worst tag team partners for Jeff Jarrett to show that Double J may have been a great singles guy but worked well in tag teams too.

10 WORST: Scott Hall & Kevin Nash

Kings Of Wrestling TNA

In late 2004, TNA was moving into three-hour PPV events with Jarrett teasing a feud with Kevin Nash. Instead, he teamed with Nash and Scott Hall as the Kings of Wrestling. By this point, Hall and Nash were barely mobile, let alone able to handle a match together, and this was not helped by dressing like Elvis.

They and Jarrett faced AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Randy Savage in a horrible Turning Point tag match and some other bouts. Hall soon left while Nash turned on Jarrett to end this terrible stable that showed the days of the Kliq were long past.

9 BEST: Brian Christopher

Brian Christopher (a.k.a. Grandmaster Sexay)

Before his time with Too Cool, Brian Christopher began his career in Memphis under the eye of dad Jerry Lawler. He and Jarrett were interesting as the pair had a good feud going but still won the USWA tag team titles twice.

Christopher had plenty of fire at the time, while Jarrett was more the veteran helping out. Their union wasn't too long before another feud, but he did mark one of Jarrett's better championship partners and it boosted Christopher in the early going.

8 WORST: Lex Luger

Lex Luger in TNA

Lex Luger's career after WCW folded is sad to see, as the guy was just lost without a bigger company to work for. He tried his hand in TNA as he and Jarrett teamed up against AJ Styles and Sting.

Had this been a few years earlier, it might have been good, but Luger had lost much of his fire and skills by this point, so it was a sloppy pairing. Luger had another of his flakeouts to leave TNA and make this a short-lived alliance, so chalk up to bad timing for what could have been a good pairing.

7 BEST: Billy Travis

While not a household name, Billy Travis was a dependable worker for the Continental and Memphis areas. He was with the CWA when they were in a partnership with the AWA and paired with a rookie Jarrett in a popular team that won the AWA Southern tag team titles three times.

Travis and Jarrett both showed promise, with Jarrett cutting his teeth as a champion and learning the ropes of the business. Beset by personal issues, Travis never became a star outside of Memphis but was Jarrett's first good partner in the business.

6 WORST: Mil Mascaras

Mil Mascaras in WWE

While regarded as a great high-flier and masked worker, Mil Mascaras has his share of detractors. Many have complained about Mascaras' refusal to sell for opponents and being rather selfish. This rubbed off on his short-lived teaming with Jarrett in 1989 for World Class Championship Wrestling.

The pair won the WCCW tag team titles but only held them for two weeks. Jarrett was still a rookie and Mascaras didn't want to look worse in the ring, so they just didn't gel right. It was one of Jarrett's first championships but also one of his worst partners.

5 BEST: Robert Fuller

Colonel Robert Parker in WWE 2K16

Best known as Col. Robert Parker in WCW, Robert Fuller was actually a great star in the Tennessee area for years beforehand. He and Jarrett had feuded, but in 1991 they decided to become a regular team.

This led to several reigns as USWA tag team champions, with the veteran Fuller giving the younger Jarrett more of a rub. They had a brief reunion in Memphis in the late 1990s as the pair clicked well as a team and Jarrett clearly learned a lot from having Fuller guide him as a partner in the business.

4 WORST: Monty Brown

In 2005, "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown seemed set to be TNA's next big homegrown star. But in a baffling move, they turned him heel, a decision that Brown never fully recovered from. He and Jarrett on the same side never made much sense and wasn't helped by their tag matches together being lackluster.

Brown came off more as a lackey than the strong fighter he'd been and Jarrett blatantly used him to try to keep his own title. It has to rank among Jarrett's worst pairings which damaged Browns' career to boot.

3 BEST: Jerry Lawler

Jeff Jarrett and his father, Jerry Jarrett, with Jerry "The King" Lawler

In 1992, Jerry Lawler was still the dominant figure in the USWA promotion out of Memphis. Pairing with a young star like Jarrett was a good idea, but better was the pair engaging in an all-out war against the Moondogs.

The winner of the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Feud of the Year award, the two teams had wild battles, trading the USWA tag team titles several times. Lawler and Jarrett were a good mix going from technical work to all-out brawls and Jarrett showing his toughness as well. This ranked as a great move by Jarrett to build himself up.

2 WORST: Rhino

Rhino TNA

In 2005, Jarrett was feuding with NWA champion Raven in TNA. He enlisted "The War Machine" Rhino to attack Raven, only for Raven to partner with old rival Sabu. This led to the Sacrifice PPV with the stipulation that if Jarrett pinned Raven, he'd get a title shot, but if Raven pinned Jarrett, Jarrett would have to wait a year for another one.

The match was a messy brawl with Raven ready to hit Jarrett with a DDT only for Rhino to Gore him for the pin and thus the title shot. So Jarrett was screwed out of an opportunity by his partner, leading to them soon breaking up and marking a bad pairing.

1 BEST: Owen Hart

Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart

Owen Hart wasn't just Jarrett's best tag team partner but also his best friend. At first an odd pairing, the two clicked perfectly in WWE, reigning as tag team champions. They were great on the mic together while also a fantastic team in the ring with matches against some pretty good units in WWE.

It's arguable they could have gone further before being split with Owen taking back the Blue Blazer gimmick. Nothing speaks to the bond than how emotional Jarrett was at Owen's passing, which is still regarded as one of the best parts of Jarrett's career.
