Whether it is specific promos or angles within their feud, there are parts that people may not recall.

8 They Have Teamed Up

John Cena and Brock Lesnar as a tag team

When people think about John Cena's storyline with Brock Lesnar over the years, most people just see them as rivals. However, that hasn't always been the case as they are actually former tag team partners for one night on SmackDown.

Back in October 2003, the two young stars ended up being on the same team when they competed against Kurt Angle and The Undertaker. It's a forgotten match from their careers, but they worked well as a team and actually got the win that night.

Paul Heyman has been heavily linked with the rivalry between John Cena and Roman Reigns over the years. Normally, he just cuts his usual promos, which were always entertaining, but at one point that wasn't the case as he decided to channel his inner-Cena.

He did that by cutting an actual rap on Cena ahead of the match, which ended up being hilarious. WWE played it up a lot at the time, but it's an excellent Heyman segment that has sadly been forgotten about over the years.

6 John Laurinaitis Brought Him Back

When Brock Lesnar returned to WWE there was a lot of excitement, but he did come back without Paul Heyman at first. In the storyline, it was John Laurinaitis who was heavily involved in the whole situation as he was named as the man responsible for re-signing him.

Laurinaitis wanted a new face of the company and that man was none other than The Beast Incarnate. This section of Lesnar's career is often forgotten about because he wasn't quite as entertaining on his own, while Laurinaitis was never the greatest promo guy in the company.

During the midst of their feud in 2014, WWE hosted a birthday party segment for Hulk Hogan on Raw. The company filled the ring with legends such as Roddy Piper and Kevin Nash in order to celebrate, but this moment was ruined by Brock Lesnar.

He hit the ring looking to hurt Hogan and end the party in style, but this is where John Cena made the save, putting an end to the intimidation. It's a moment that a lot of people forget, but it did lead to a classic Lesnar quote when he said, "Party's over, Grandpa."

3 A Pep Talk From Edge

Edge confronts John Cena Cropped

Edge is someone who has a huge history with John Cena, with the two men being major rivals throughout their careers. WWE decided to play into that during Cena's storyline with Brock Lesnar as the company brought The Rated R Superstar back for one night.

He cut a passionate promo on Cena, urging him to wake up and defeat Lesnar. It was an excellent segment, which is no surprise considering how talented Edge is, but it isn't a moment that people still talk about when it comes to this rivalry

When Brock Lesnar first returned to WWE, he faced John Cena at Extreme Rules 2012 in a match that was very brutal and dominated by The Beast Incarnate. However, Cena surprisingly won, despite the fact that it was Lesnar's first match back in the company.

But what many people likely forgot was the post-match promo that Cena delivered on that night. He teased that he would be going away for a while and rambled on about possibly leaving the company in what was quite a strange moment, especially since he never ended up leaving.
