John Cena was at The Cardiff Wales Comic Con this week, sending messages to WWE fans and calling himself the "warm-up act" for Clash at the Castle on September 3rd and being presented by WWE. That led to some speculation that perhaps Cena would be in attendance at the event, something he commented on while part of a Q&A.

"I've been coming to Cardiff to fight for 15-plus years, and every time, it's exciting and amazing. I'm not going to be at Clash," Cena stated. This will come as disappointing news for members of The WWE Universe that will be attending the event, but also for fans who wanted to see him make another return and actually wrestle. The last time Cena appeared on WWE programming was to celebrate his 20 years in WWE, but he didn't perform in the ring. Speculation has been that WWE might set something up between Cena and Theory, but if that match does happen, it won't be on September 3.

The event itself should be entertaining and the card is coming together. As of now, Roman Reigns is defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre. Karrion Kross added a wrinkle to things when he showed up on SmackDown this past Friday night. A six-woman tag match was also scheduled during Monday's Raw that will feature Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky taking on Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair.

Cena Busy With Hollywood Schedule

Part of what will be keeping Cena away is his filming schedule as he's still making Season 2 of Peacemaker. There's a difference between showing up for a Comic Con and answering questions and performing in a WWE ring while you're in the middle of shooting. One doesn't tend to cause an injury that could delay production, the other might.
