Keith Lee's main-roster run so far has been puzzling, to say the least. A blend of personal and creative reasons has prevented The Limitless One from finding a solid footing on either RAW or SmackDown. However, that may not be the case for long, especially if the rumors about his heel turn are true.

9 Backstage Stories About Keith Lee We Can't Believe

One of the rumors stated that the former NXT Champion would be paired with Adam Cole, with the latter serving as the mouthpiece for Lee. Though, that was before Cole signed with AEW (moreover, he denied being pitched any such ideas).

On second thought, the idea of a cocky, charismatic heel with loads of potential hiding behind a colossal monster in the form of Keith Lee sounds interesting. But if not Cole, who on the current WWE roster can do justice to the role of manager/mouthpiece for the big man? Here are 10 possible answers.

10 Mustafa Ali

Retribution with Mustafa Ali

While The Retribution wasn't a success, it managed to give fans a sneak peek at one of the hidden talents of Mustafa Ali, the ability to play a cowardly heel to perfection. Recently, he has been mentoring Mansoor. However, this alliance has been struggling to rack up some big wins.

So, it's possible for the former "Heart of 205 Live" to turn on the Saudi Superstar in the near future and align with someone else he could trust with taking down the big names on the roster. And who would be a better fit in this scenario than Keith Lee, someone who has already taken the likes of Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley to their limits?

9 LA Knight

One of the best parts of NXT this past year has been LA Knight. Gifted with tremendous mic skills and decent in-ring chops, there's no reason why the former Million Dollar Champion shouldn't be tearing the house down with the best every Monday and Friday.

Or, it could be that WWE has other plans for Knight, plans that involve him utilizing his gift of gab to the max while being shielded by 300-something pounds of sheer power. A Keith Lee/LA Knight alliance on the main roster could do wonders for both men.

8 Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn rants while being handcuffed to the barricade

One thing Sami Zayn is fully confident about is that everyone in WWE is out to get him. And he isn't afraid to speak about it either. It would really help the former two-time Intercontinental Champion if he could have someone lay waste to the conspirators while he continues to expose "the truth."

Sami Zayn has proved how good of a heel he really is. Moreover, he makes sure that everyone involved in an angle or match with him comes out looking equally good as well. The only problem is that he mostly gets his comeuppances too early. With Keith Lee by his side, this problem could be solved.

7 Cedric Alexander

It goes without saying that Keith Lee has all the talent in the world to succeed as a professional wrestler. All he is in need of is a big break. The same holds true for many other Superstars on the RAW roster, especially Cedric Alexander. So, how about the two join forces to snatch the opportunities they haven't been given so far?

Thanks to his stint in The Hurt Business, Alexander's promo work has improved vastly. He could refine it even further by partnering with The Limitless One and elevating him to the next level while talking trash to the rest of the roster.

6 MSK

MSK have been a fresh addition to the already-stacked Tag-Team division of NXT. Their quick rise to the top only speaks about how well they are perceived backstage. But will they find the same success once they receive their main-roster callups? Well, they definitely can, especially if they are guarded by a force of intimidation.

Despite being babyfaces on NXT, the duo of Wes Lee and Nash Carter receives a fair amount of boos from the crowd. There's no doubt these two can portray annoying heels to perfection. And having a big man like Keith Lee protect them from getting roughed up would only spice up their act while making Lee a force to be reckoned with.

5 Drew Gulak

While there's no denying that participating in innovative 24/7 Title skits on a weekly basis sounds fun, a shift to the sinister side could benefit Gulak's career significantly. Moreover, his short-lived alliance with Daniel Bryan in 2020 showed that he could become a decent character on TV if given the chance.

The idea of Gulak drawing heat for Keith Lee may come across as odd. However, if these two could complement each other well, what's the harm in going ahead with it? After all, it could give two of the most gifted yet underutilized performers on the main roster a clear direction.

4 Chad Gable

Chad Gable and Otis heading to the ring for a match

But Chad Gable already has Otis doing his dirty work, no? Well, if there's one thing WWE strongly believes in, it's that "two is better than one" be it the number of nights WrestleMania has been running with recently or the number of World Champions the company has on the main roster. So, why couldn't Chad Gable benefit from two muscleheads instead of just one?

The trio of Keith Lee, Otis, and Chad Gable could very well be a believable thorn in the path of several upper midcard and main-event Superstars. Besides, who wouldn't tune into RAW or SmackDown to watch Gable gaslighting a lovable babyface, only for him to get silenced by Lee and Otis?

3 Cameron Grimes

Dubbed "The Limitless One" by many, Keith Lee has shown time and again that he has no ceiling. However, does he have what it takes to make it... to the moon? This calls for an assist by none other than the self-made millionaire, Cameron Grimes.

From being an obnoxious heel to turning into a sympathetic babyface, Grimes has been proving that he's a sports entertainer through and through since the day he stepped foot in WWE. While there's no doubt he will fare well on the main roster, a good start could see him being to Keith Lee what Roddy Piper was to Paul Orndorff and David Schultz in his initial days in WWF.

2 MVP

Bobby Lashley with MVP

There are tons of Superstars on the current WWE roster who can manage Keith Lee. But, if anyone over the last year and a half has proved to be successful in getting deserving talent over, it's MVP. Ever since his return to WWE in early 2020, the former two-time WWE United States Champion has only elevated others, either through an alliance or enmity.

Lee joining The Hurt Business and having MVP as his hypeman would boost the former's credibility by leaps and bounds. Plus, fans have been pretty vocal about their desire to see the former NXT Champion in the badass faction. Once MVP returns to WWE following his knee surgery, he could be used as the mouthpiece of Lee. Considering WWE can use MVP in a non-physical role alongside Lee, this pairing is still possible despite the surgery being very recent.

1 Johnny Gargano

Johnny-Gargano

Johnny Gargano has been a staple of NXT for several years now. From being a part of stellar storylines and putting on one banger after another to becoming a Grand Slam Champion and everything in between, Johnny Wrestling's contributions to NXT can't be understated. And if that wasn't enough, his phenomenal portrayal of the grumpy father figure as a part of The Way should silence any last critics.

If he gets roped in by WWE to manage and draw heat for Keith Lee, fans may get to witness one of the best big man/little man teams in recent history. Their combined talent and star power should put them on the top of the card in no time.
