Debuting in 1990, Kevin Nash had an uneventful run in WCW before arriving in WWE in 1993, where he wrestled as Diesel and captured not only the WWE Championship, but also the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championship. A high-profile jump to rival WCW under his real name would lead to even more time in the main event scene and championship gold, with stints in WWE and Impact Wrestling following until his retirement in 2020.

Once they become a main eventing legend, wrestlers don’t lose too often, and Kevin Nash is no exception. Let’s take a look at his final televised losses, which track the last phase of his Impact career followed by one final match at the promotion where he first hit his stride.

10 Kevin Nash vs. Hernandez vs. Eric Young (Impact Bound For Glory, 10/18/2009)

Eric Young with the TNA Impact Legends Championship (a.k.a. the Global Championship)

By October 2009, the big Main Event Mafia angle was fast approaching its conclusion after, but the Legends Championship created during that storyline was still going strong. At Bound for Glory, Kevin Nash defended the belt against Hernandez and Eric Young, Nash’s teammate in the combined Main Event Mafia/World Elite super-stable. Despite their united front against Hernandez, Nash would end up eating the pin in this match thanks to Young taking advantage of a powerbomb set-up, causing Hernandez to headbutt Big Sexy in the crotch.

9 Kevin Nash & Syxx-Pac vs. Beer Money Inc. (Impact Genesis, 1/17/2010)

Beer Money

Early January 2010 saw Kevin Nash reunite with an invading Scott Hall and Syxx-Pac to form the Band and re-enact their old New World Order schtick. On top of that, Nash and Hall were going to reform their old tag team, known in WCW as the Outsiders, to take on one of Impact’s best tag teams ever, Beer Money Inc. However, when it came time for Genesis, Scott Hall had to drop out of the match reportedly due to injury. Syxx-Pac took Scott Hall’s place in the bout, but Hall still had a role in the match, inadvertently causing a distraction that allowed Bobby Roode and James Storm to double-team Kevin Nash for the win.

8 Kevin Nash & Eric Young vs. The Nasty Boys (Impact Wrestling, 1/21/2010)

Nasty Boys TNA

This late 2010 episode of Impact featured the return of the Nasty Boys to televised pro wrestling, having not appeared in a major promotion since WCW in 1997. For the return bout of one of the stranger signings of the Hogan/Bischoff era of Impact, Brian Knobs and Jerry Sags took on the team of Kevin Nash and Eric Young.

While the previous two outings saw Kevin Nash take a pin in scenarios where he didn’t have to take a pin, this time it’s Eric Young who took the fall, succumbing to the Nasties’s gross armpit attack followed by a pumphandle slam.

7 Kevin Nash vs. Scott Hall (Impact Wrestling, 3/15/2010)

Kevin Nash vs. Scott Hall in Impact Wrestling

In early February, The Band turned on Kevin Nash, leading to a feud between Nash and his former partners as well as this “Five Minute Challenge” wherein Scott Hall could win $25,000 if he lasted in the ring with Kevin Nash for five minutes. Notably, this was Hall and Nash’s first singles match against one another since their infamous bout at Halloween Havoc ‘98. In the end, Scott Hall does indeed last the five minutes against Nash, albeit with help from Syxx-Pac

6 Kevin Nash & Eric Young vs. Scott Hall & Syxx-Pac (Impact Destination X, 3/21/2010)

Kevin Nash & Eric Young vs. Scott Hall & Syxx-Pac (Impact Destination X, 3/21/2010)

Joined by Eric Young, Kevin Nash’s feud with The Band would come to a head at Destination X, where if Scott Hall and Syxx-Pac won, they would get Impact contracts and become an official part of the roster. However, this being an nWo-type thing, a shocking betrayal was inevitable, and Nash turned on Young, allowing Hall and Pac to take advantage and get the win. Of course, in true nWo fashion, Young ends up getting spray painted in the post-match.

5 The Band vs. Eric Young, Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam (Impact Wrestling, 3/23/2010)

Days after the Destination X betrayal , Kevin Nash assured Eric Young on Impact that they were still cool, and offered EY membership in the Band, which Young refused in favor of teaming with beloved babyfaces Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam to take on the Band in a steel cage. This main event ended up lasting only four minutes, with Hardy and Van Dam executing their signature high-flying finishers on Nash and Hall, respectively, while Eric Young delivered an elbow drop off of the top of the cage to Syxx-Pac for the pinfall victory.

4 The Band vs. Team 3D (Impact Lockdown, 4/18/2010)

The Band vs. Team 3D (Impact Lockdown, 4/18/2010)

The 2010 Lockdown pay-per-view saw Kevin Nash work double duty. After defeating Eric Young in a steel cage earlier in the evening, he also had to join Scott Hall in a St. Lous Street fight against Team 3D — also in a steel cage, as that was Lockdown’s overarching gimmick — due to Syxx-Pac no-showing.

Despite being a steel cage match, the two teams end up fighting all over the arena with the cage door open, but eventually Team 3D gets the win after putting Scott Hall through a table.

3 The Band vs. Ink Inc. (Impact Wrestling, 6/17/2010)

Ink Inc.

In the time between Lockdown and this episode of Impact, Eric Young turned heel and joined the Band, while Kevin Nash and Scott Hall won the World Tag Team Title only to be stripped of it a month later due to personal issues with Hall. As a result, a tournament was held to determine who was going to take on the Motor City Machine Guns for the vacant belts, with Nash and Young making it to the semi-finals. Shockingly their road to the finals was thwarted by Ink Inc. — Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal — who scored a surprisingly clean win over Eric Young.

2 Kevin Nash & Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett & Samoa Joe (Impact No Surrender, 9/5/2010)

Kevin Nash in Impact Wrestling

With Scott Hall and Syxx-Pac getting released from Impact over the summer, Kevin Nash found a new ally in Sting, who had turned heel earlier in 2010. Nash’s Impact contract would expire in October of that year, with his penultimate pay-per-view match before Bound for Glory 2010 being a tag team match against Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe at No Surrender. Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe would get the win here thanks to Jarrett hitting Sting with the Stinger’s own bat, followed by Joe locking in his signature Kokina Clutch on Sting for the win.

Kevin Nash vs. Triple H (WWE TLC, 12/18/2011)

After reprising the Diesel persona as a surprise entrant in the 2011 Royal Rumble, Kevin Nash returned to WWE television at SummerSlam to cost CM Punk the WWE Championship, possibly at Triple H’s order. A feud between Nash and Trips ensued, leading to the final major singles match of Kevin Nash’s career — a Ladder match with a sledgehammer suspended over the ring at TLC in December 2011. Triple H would put his old friend away thanks to a sledgehammer blast to the head and a pinfall victory.
